Located in the heart of the Nakasendo Road, at the foot of the Kiso-Koma Highlands, is “Ryojoan,” an old traditional house built 150 years ago. This small Japanese-style room is great for solo travelers or couples.From the windows, you can enjoy views of the fields and mountains. ▼Summer At night, you can hear the calls of frogs and insects, as well as the bugling of deer in the distance, and in the morning, the birdsong is lively. On summer nights, the temperature is around 20°C (68°F).There is no air conditioning, so you can use just the fan. ▼Winter In winter, the temperature can drop to 15°C (59°F) below freezing, and on rare occasions, you can see diamond dust.There is a wood-burning stove in the common area, and a kerosene fan heater is provided in the room.These are very typical amenities found in a home in a mountain village. ▼Eating It is a no meal stay. Feel free to cook in the shared kitchen where everyone gathers.It is fully equipped with cookware and tableware. ▼- Transportation It is a 25-minute bus ride from Kiso-Fukushima Station and a 3-minute walk from the Ohara-Kami bus stop. Walls finished with Yamato plaster and large, glossy black beams.Traditional windows with Showa-era glass panes. This building was formerly a youth hostel, and we, having taken over its management, are now gradually renovating it ourselves to create a place where guests can stay comfortably. At night you can hear frogs and bugs, deer chirping in the distance, and birds in the mornings in the bustling mountains. There is no air conditioning because the summer night breeze can only be spent with a fan around 20 degrees Celsius. In the winter, there are days when it gets to freezing 15 degrees Celsius, and there are occasional days where diamond dust can be seen. There is a large wood stove in a shared space and an oil fan heater is provided in the room. It is a no meal stay. Feel free to cook in the shared kitchen where everyone gathers.It is fully equipped with cookware and tableware. It takes 25 minutes by bus from Kiso Fukushima Station and 3 minutes on foot from Ohara Kamikami bus stop. We are a small family, and we will be hosting you along with our children, aged 7 and 4. It is an old house built 150 years ago in Kisokoma Kogen, in the middle of Nakasendo Road. This is a room with a bunk bed. We created the room with the image of an exciting, adventurous space like a mountain cabin. Please feel free to use it for families, groups, and training camps. This building was once a youth hostel. Our family has taken over the management of this building in 2024 and is undergoing a DIY renovation as a place where you can easily stay. At night you can hear frogs and bugs, deer chirping in the distance, and birds in the mornings in the bustling mountains. There is no air conditioning because the summer night breeze can only be spent with a fan around 20 degrees Celsius. In the winter, there are days when it gets to freezing 15 degrees Celsius, and there are occasional days where diamond dust can be seen.There is a large wood stove in a shared space and an oil fan heater is provided in the room.It is a typical Japanese heating facility. The floor of the entire house is cypress flooring. OSMO natural paint is used in the guest rooms. The walls are finished by artisans.
