My family of 6 (with 4 small children) spent 7 days at Xara's location. It was fabulous. Xara and her husband were fantastic hosts with every bit of Greek hospitality (filoxenia) you can imagine. The location of the home is peaceful with a spectacular few of the Cretan countryside. Very accessible and minutes away from everyone you may need - gas station, a wonderful bakery (Fournistiri), village (Episkopi) offering fantastic food offerings, the airport, Heraklion, etc. Its all here. The hosts and home was also very kid friendly. The best part is that we got farm fresh eggs continuously throughout our stay and the children got to even feel some of the farm animals (chickens, goats, horses). Thank you Mihali and Xara. We had a fantastic time.

The house has everything you need to spend a stay away from mass tourism while being close to everything: two restaurants in the center of the village 3 min walk, two small grocery stores 5 min walk that have all the basic products for cooking, large supermarket and sandy beaches 10 min drive. The village is peaceful, the house stays cool despite the heat, the outdoor spaces are as shown in the photos, the beds are comfortable. We had a great time and communication with the host was very simple and responsive. Recommended! Just one thing to keep in mind with small children or reduced mobility: all bedrooms are upstairs and the stairs are narrow.
