Prami's Homestay twin

This is my second stay with this Airbnb host family. I was very happy with this family 3 years ago when I stayed with them for 2 months. I asked to stay with them last summer and they accepted but airport Covid restrictions made reaching them last summer impossible. This year with the help of a travel agent and an indirect route I was able to reach Nepal and the Bhakta Shrestha hosts. The family is friendly and welcoming. They will respect your wishes if you want to keep your distance but are willing to talk with you if you wish. Mr. Bhakta Shrestha worked in the travel industry in various capacities and has a wealth of information to offer you on tourism, culture, history and many other topics. He helped me assemble my documents for my side trip to India despite having no obligation to do so. I chose to mostly eat elsewhere at a friend's relative's restaurant but occasionally Mrs. Bhakta Shrestha persuaded me to eat with the family and her food is healthy and delicious. At times she offered me milk tea, yogurt, fruit, etc. as teatime snacks. They have large commercial-sized containers of purified bottled water in the kitchen that you can partake of at any time. They give you a key to the front gate besides a key to your room. Their courtyard is guarded by several dogs who will be friendly to you after the family introduces you to them. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and the bed comfortable with plenty of blankets available as needed in your closet. A fan is in the rooms as well as strong WIFI. There are tables and a closet with hangers. There is a special lamp sitting above the closet that you can turn on in the event of a power outage. You will have access to the upstairs patio with chairs, a table, a great view and invigorating clean air. If there is any problem with the room, the family is quick to make any repairs. Although not required, the young adult son gave me rides several times in his car and Mr. Bhakta Shrestha and his son gave me a ride to the airport my last evening in Nepal. Also, although not his responsibility, the son of the house served as a translator helping me get sandals made to order by a shoe repair man and made various visits to the shoe repair man to negotiate and request alterations. I was reluctant to leave Nepal and this family was one of the reasons I was sad to leave. I would stay with them again and would recommend this host Airbnb family to anyone.
A cozy gathering space is shown, with guests seated on the floor around a central assortment of snacks and drinks. Soft candlelight illuminates the room, highlighting the turquoise walls and a small kitchenette visible in the background.

The landlord Sarita is very friendly and kind, with an angelic smile. She provided a lot of local travel tips and took me to many local activities. She can provide meals at any time, which is just as comfortable as living at home, This is the warmest family hostel I have ever stayed in, Thanks a lot for Sarita did for me. Will stay again when I back from Pokhara .

all the staff was unbelievably kind and outgoing. the location is great. quiet but in the middle of town. the bed was uncomfortable. some firm spots and some super soft spots. the wifi was good enough to video call but sometimes spotty. the water pressure was good. no water heater. this room is on the 3rd floor with no elevator. breakfast was included and good. its a budget room for sure. still worth the price. no balcony.
A spacious room features a wooden bed with a soft blanket and two windows dressed in light curtains. A small workspace with a chair is positioned against the wall, complemented by soft-colored walls adorned with decorative butterflies.

Khushi Homestay

The apartment is great, very clean, really spacious and we had our own kitchen. It's not too far from the centre (Thamel) but far away enough to feel a bit more peaceful! We were very grateful to be looked after by Kalpana when we fell sick, she cooked us some lovely breakfasts and dinners and got us some medicines etc. Ram and Kalpana have a lovely family and we enjoyed being invited up to share food and see the children. We would recommend to stay here 100%. Thanks again Ram and Kalpana!

Homestay Nepal

DanielRating, 5 stars33 months ago
We had an amazing time at Babu's and Belku's homestay. They welcomed us as part of their family from the first day, offering help and advice with any issues we encountered, organizing trekking (day and week-long), and taking us with them for local festivities. They had great internet, video calls worked very well. The rooms had great views across the mountains next door or the green hill sides of Kirtipur and were exceptionally clean. We spent a lot of time reading and relaxing on one of the balconies or the big sun terrace. Before our trip we were hesitant whether staying with a local family would be too intense but we are so glad we decided to do so. You are free to move in the homestay as if it was your home, engaging with the family as much or as little as you want, but trust us you will look very much forward to participating in the family life, learning how to cook as amazingly as Belku does, learning Nepali with Babu, or just talking about everyday life with them. This is our second time in Nepal and only now we feel like we have experienced it for real. The deep insights into Nepali culture, cuisine, and daily life we got in this homestay you cannot get when staying in Thamel. You can visit Kathmandu with a short taxi ride but we were always glad to escape the busy city to the relaxing green rice fields of Kirtipur. It is not overstated to say our stay was a lifetime experience. We greatly recommend to stay with Babu, Belkin, and Aayush.

You can expect greatness from Timila’s. The group was available 24/7 if needed. Incredibly friendly and would go out of their way to assist you. I would recommend their hostility over any hotel / residence that I have had the luxury of staying at. 💯

I had an amazing experience at Pande's guesthouse! He is super responsive in communication and always have his guests' best interests. I was here during the coronavirus lockdown, so it was a strange time. Pande always made sure we have food to eat and that our needs are met. I really appreciated that! He gave a lot of good local tips and often invited me along to events with his friends. The guesthouse is in a really good location in Sanepa. This is a very quiet neighborhood with a lot of nice local restaurants around. The guesthouse is attached to Chimes restaurant, which I can truthfully say has some of the best food I've had in Nepal. I really like being able to go downstairs and eat in the outdoor courtyard. Overall, I've had a really great experience and I was happy to be here during this difficult time.

Thank you so much Taleju Grand Team I enjoyed my stay. The room was so clean and comfortable, with a desk to finish work online and good internet. The location is in Durbar square with a nice rooftop and delicious breakfast provided. Just next door is The Muglan, that had daily lovely life music that ends at 9pm, that you can watch from the rooftop or go and enjoy a delicious meal and a good vibe. Special thanks to Suman who helped me book my bus to Chitwan, to the lovely reception lady, Punam who was always cheerful and supportive and the kitchen team for the delicious breakfast. Highly recommended and I will come again while in Bhaktapur 🙏✨🌞

We had a great time there. The location is excellent really in the heart of the old city. The room was clean and comfortable. Good breakfast. Quiet at night. A little bit of noise in the morning but we loved waking up with the locals and enjoy the day. The owner is extremely friendly and helpful. We will come back to his guesthouse when we visit bakhtapur again. Highly recommended

Hotel Nepalaya

LorenRating, 5 stars2 months ago
Hotel Nepalaya is the geographical location is very good. It is convenient to go anywhere. It belongs to the hustle and bustle, and the service is also very good. At that time, when I made a reservation, I communicated with them in advance that I needed a pick-up service. They immediately arranged and picked us up at the hotel smoothly. The front desk was also very warm. The buffet breakfast was very rich every morning. The room was clean and tidy, but the room arranged twice was basically not exposed to the sun. The scenery on the top floor was great.
A modern bathroom is presented, featuring a glass-enclosed shower with a sleek faucet and a contemporary basin atop a dark countertop. A large mirror reflects the light, enhancing the clean lines of the neutral-toned tiles. Toiletries are neatly arranged nearby.
