Great cabin in the woods, only one hour from Oslo

Idyllic cottage in beautiful tranquil surroundings in the middle of Hurummarka. Rødvann is located right outside the door with the possibility of paddling and swimming, as well as hunting and fishing. One canoe is included in the rent Toll road, with about 10 min walk on nature trail from parking in the summer. The path is not straight forward, but a little up and down, so I recommend a good backpack. In winter it is about 3.5 km with ski slopes from parking and into the cabin. Poor on-site mobile coverage. Perfect place for board games and family coziness!

The forest and the beach are only minutes away, so here you can choose either forest walks or nice walks by the coastal path, There are also good fishing possibilities, both right nearby or by driving to Jeløya or Larkollen. We stayed at Petter’s place for a family trip with 4 adults and a baby. It was a lovely and peaceful spot with some woodland walks nearby. It’s also only 15 minute drive to the coastal town of Holmestrand. They have a pig and two dogs and the farm adjacent has several horses. There is a lodger living downstairs who kept to herself. The house was clean and tidy and nicely decorated, as per the photos. We didn’t meet Petter but he had good communication and was flexible in allowing us to check out slightly later. Many thanks!

We enjoyed our stay at Liv Irene's beautiful home. It is such a cosy home with a beautiful garden and everything was very clean. The chickens and duck were so much fun to look at for our children and there are many beautiful spots to visit in the surroundings. Only downside was that many streets in the area are narrow without sidewalks so we felt most comfortable taking the car to get around since we had children with us.

It was a great location to experience the tranquil countryside (especially in the snow! 🤩) Our children loved sledging etc and it felt like a home from home as well as being a 45min drive from Oslo.
