Tokiwa Town is the only area where you can experience the great outdoors and rural life of Hokkaido, located about 40 minutes by train from Sapporo. In addition, the town was developed by samurai, and the local shrine enshrines the samurai god. Local shops are also attractive, and there are interesting shops such as a game shop and an izakaya where you can interact with cats. I recommend staying for a week or more to experience local life in this special town. If you stay longer, you can learn more about Tobetsu-cho. In the summer, you can fully enjoy the great outdoors of Hokkaido by cycling for 15 minutes. In winter, it is a heavy snow area with snowfall of 1 meter or more.There are snowballs, sledding, and a snow festival.
