Cottage vacation rentals in Inverness

We booked super last minute so we could stay longer in town to visit my grandparents - we were beyond pleased with our stay! We had asked the host if there was any stores near by as we weren’t familiar with the area just to grab the kids some hot dogs but nothing was close nor near by and the host actually came down with hot dogs, buns and ketchup for my kids! Such a sweet gesture!!! The cabin was adorable - above expectation! Will definitely book again!

Katherine and Steven were excellent hosts. We had to reach out only once during the stay and they were extremely responsive and helpful. The location is beautiful and our family took full use of their hot tub, propane fireplace, open concept home and beautiful views. Catan was available to play and our kids spent hours chilling out and playing the game together. The only thing I would have wanted to know beforehand is that the walk back to the house from the river required an up-hill walk, which something not everyone in my family were able to do due to health/mobility issues. We would definitely stay here again.

Kirk and Kelley were very welcoming and lovely. The cottage was easy to locate and had some stunning views of the mountains and the lake. Thank you for hosting us and would indeed return for another get away in the future.

We were thoroughly charmed by the accommodation, and all the truly unique touches to the spacious living space, kitchen area, bedroom — all of it. It’s a personalized, heart-warming, comfortable retreat, ideal for anyone wanting to spend a while writing, reading, or daydreaming. Take a project with you, or make up a new one while you’re there. No shortage of soulful, talented folk on the Cabot Trail - you’re sure to be inspired.

We rented all 5 for a work event. Everyone loved the cottages and all want to return. Beautiful pristine cottages , excellent for accessing Cabot , which some of the group did. Cottages have everything you need and more. So cozy , modern and clean We have been fortunate enough to do many team events and everyone agrees this was one of the best. So private yet so close to all the activities the town has to offer. Do not hesitate to stay here. It is my second time and now trying to arrange a 3rd friends group in the fall. It is amazing and you will not be disappointed!

We loved staying here for one night while we golfed. The proximity to everything in town is great! We loved enjoying the hot tub overlooking the course and ocean. I would highly recommend to anyone traveling to this area, we plan to be back!

We really enjoyed our stay! Location was perfect! 2 minute drive from our whale watching excursion. The cottage was clean, comfy and cozy. The hot tub was also very well maintained and clean. I would definitely recommend staying here. Great place to have a nice relaxing stay.

A very relaxing homey place and a lovely porch with view of the sunset over the mountain. Lovely short walk to the bridge and friendly folk who passed by. Had everything we needed and more. The quality of the cutlery and dishes and the amount and variety of the "Basics" available was impressive.

The purple cottage was cozy, clean, and the decor was cheery and interesting. With 3 bedrooms it was perfect for our girls getaway. You could see the ocean from the house and get to it easily with a short walk down the mowed path - the sunsets were breathtaking. The location was perfect for exploring the Cabot Trail, hiking, and going out on the ocean to see puffins, eagles, and seals. We all loved it and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Janet's place was simply wonderful. If you are lucky enough to go there make sure you do the trail that leads you to the train line and all the way to the beach. Simply magical... Thank you Janet :-)

The cottage is a part of a development along the ocean coast. It is on the first floor of a 2-story building. The living room has a glass door with a great ocean view. It opems to a nice patio, Unfortunately other windows one has to cover because of proximity of other buildings. The cottage is extremely well equipped and the beds are comfortable. The guests are greeted with a bottle of wine. Overall this is a great base for exploring the beautiful Cape Breton Highlands National Park.

My partner and I had a wonderful stay at Kim and Mark’s cottage in Lake Ainslie. Kim and Mark are attentive, responsive, and considerate hosts. The location is perfect - far enough away from the nearest town to be peaceful, but close enough to all the amenities we needed. I would highly recommend a stay at this small retreat.

We had a great time! The place is so cute and feels very private :) The hosts left a booklet with a ton of great suggestions for local trails etc. Would totally stay here again!

This is the second time we’ve stayed here. It is such a perfect place that has everything you need and more. A short walk to the beach, and close to all restaurants and to the national park. It is dog friendly which is always a bonus! Thank you for a wonderful week.

Unfortunately the Piping Plover had an unrepairable (in time) issue arise the day before we arrived, so this is a review of Alison & the hosts of the associated Markland resort next door, rather than the place itself. Alison and the Markland staff arranged an emergency backup for us, putting us up in cabins at the Markland and generously providing a complimentary dinner both nights for our party of five. The cabins were perfectly sufficient! Quiet and peaceful, clean and comfortable in a beautiful setting. And the food (which also included a free continental breakfast) was fantastic. We greatly appreciated the generosity and care of Alison and the staff, who made a special point to look out for us.

Everything at the cottage was fantastic; we felt right at home. There were eight of us, and the house had enough space for us all and enough bathrooms. The kitchen was well stocked and had all the appliances that you need. It was a great stay, and I recommend it to anyone

We booked with Theresa as overflow for my daughter’s wedding and my adult children were so happy for the calm space! Theresa was accommodating and very responsive! Great experience!

Had a lovely stay at Brad and Tanya’s beachside cottage. We spent two nights there with our kids (5 and 7). We loved being so close to the beach, which is a nice, sandy beach that is great for kids. We appreciated the outdoor shower at the cottage. Check-in and communication was smooth. Highly recommend their cottage to anyone looking for a peaceful stay near the Port Hood area.
