Lake house vacation rentals in Indiana

I can’t say enough wonderful things about my stay at the lake cottage. I came to town expecting to stay just a couple nights. When my plans changed due to unforeseen circumstances, the host was quick to help me extend my stay which eased the stress of the situation. The view is absolutely stunning, and the deck is a great place to watch it from. One couldn’t ask for a better view from the main bedroom, living room, or kitchen. The bed was very comfortable, as was the rest of the furniture. The home is beautifully decorated, and well taken care of. The kayaks were a nice addition. This became a soothing place for my soul, and was the perfect retreat. I loved this home and hope to visit again.

This Airbnb was incredible! Looked just like the pictures and felt so cozy as soon as we walked in. The view is incredible and it’s so peaceful. The place was also very clean and near lots of food options. I also greatly appreciated a pack n’ play and high chair for our little one.

Had a longer duration stay for work. Very peaceful and quiet with plenty of space. It was really nice being right on the river. Felt right at home from the day we arrived.

Brenda was very responsive to my messages. The house was clean and the view was spectacular. The neighbors were very friendly. The water is pretty shallow around the lake. The lake is also very quiet with minimal people out on it. There were times we went kayaking and were the only people out on the lake. If you are looking for a sleepy lake, this is it! Keep in mind of the stairs from the first floor to walk out basement and then from the porch to the lake. The local Tavern did have amazing fish, just like Brenda suggested. It was the perfect quick getaway!

This place was absolutely stunning! My husband and I came here for my birthday. I loved fishing off the dock, the hot tub was amazing! He even had it already heated when I arrived! the back deck was amazing. I loved the swinging chair overlooking the lake. Being able to wake up in the morning going to the back deck listening to the birds. Saw some cranes flying over the lake. The kitchen had all the utensils I needed to cook a meal. I loved the kitchen! The beds were also super comfortable! The wifi had great signal. I was able to stream my shows without any issues. Aaron was super communicative, gave clear and concise instructions which made finding and enjoying his house a dream! He was kind and polite. I couldn't recommend this place more! I will definitely be back!

House had everything we needed for our family to gather and feel at home. Having firewood readily available for campfires was great. We made some great family memories this past weekend!

Our stay was very nice and had a great time. We were able to feel right at home. Was great the 7 of us. Was great to have stocked kitchen and big pots and pans to be able to cook the full meal in. The deck in the back was our place most of the time. View was beautiful and wild life was seen several times. Mark and Janet were great to work with and communicate with. We had a WiFi issue but Mark jumped on it immediately to get issue taken care of. I felt like I knew them a long time. Thank you so much. We will be back again.

This property is in a secluded nook, surrounded by nature. It was nearby the National Park and amenities (restaurants, grocery). Home was spacious and clean. Everything in the kitchen in working order. Host was responsive (though we had no issues during our stay). Would certainly stay here again if returning to the Dunes!

Very nice home that has an intimate but not small feel to the common space on the first floor. Lots of room on the dock for a boat and the small beach area is perfect for wading into the water. Teenagers loved the sun deck and the paddle boat and my son had a good time fishing. Great place for a family or group.

The house was charming and we loved the mid century modern furnishings. We slept well and easily walked to the beach with our small dogs many times! The kitchen was well-stocked, the yard was lovely, the bathroom pristine, and if you have the need, there are so many dog treats, toys and blankets! The people living in this area are friendly and warm. It felt like home and we would definitely return!

This was a great stay for my dad’s lifelong dream of going to a home game at Notre Dame. Miranda was responsive and helpful. The space was immaculate and the view was beautiful. I highly recommend Miranda’s place! Thank you so much for having us!

We have stayed 5 times and each time Joe has been so easy to deal with and a great host. One time we left some laundry and he worked with us to get it back. The location is perfect. If you're a Culver family this is great for Parents Weekends, drop off and graduation. It's perfect to share with another family. We are glad we found this house! Thank you, Joe!

Very fun place to enjoy an unplugged weekend, and we were able to bring our dogs! Lots of lake amenities including kayaks, canoe and well-kept dock for fun in the sun!

Hosts were so nice. We told them we were there for a funeral and they left us flowers and a card! Great place.

We rented the cabin with the intention to have a family reunion. Everyone was impressed with the area and the cost to rent it. The pond was exceptionally beautiful. My grandchildren caught their first fish in the pond. I was surprised by how close interstate 70 was. ( I didn’t know it until after I left) It was so peaceful. There were lightening bugs everywhere!! We will definitely be back.

Lacy's place is even better in person. It was so cozy. She had lots of little touches that made our stay better. We had so much fun with the kayaks, she had logs ready for a fire, lots of places to sit outside. Our family of four was very comfortable. We really appreciated the cold filtered water. The neighbors were all so nice and we even met several Amish families and saw many horse and buggy driving by. It was quite an amazing experience.

The location was secluded and it was amazing for our worship retreat! She forgot shampoo and conditioner but brought it for us !!

Spent the weekend and had a wonderful time. The place is beautiful and as pictured and described. The view off the lake is amazing and lots of breeze coming off of it. The beds were extremely comfortable and had nice pillows, linens, and extra pillows and blankets. Fans were provided in both bedrooms. Water was hot and all hygiene was provided. The kitchen is well stocked. The hosts were reachable and gave clear directions on entrance and how to work the air, heat, and TV. Would definitely recommend to stay here and make sure to go for a visit in Shipshewana.

Jackson and Paige are such wonderful hosts! The location was quiet and peaceful. Waking up and being able to drink your coffee looking out at the lake is a huge plus. They provided helpful guidance for events during the stay and tips on how to get to IMS during our trip. Would very happily stay again, thank you!

Communication with the host was not smooth, and the key location was inaccurate when we checked in, which made us feel uneasy. However, the accommodation itself was excellent. The view was great, and the water in the jacuzzi was warm, so we could enjoy it right away. If we get the chance someday, we would love to go back there again:)

Derek is professional and friendly. He was flexible with us in a way that helped our travels a great deal. I appreciate his tech savvy home and will likely revisit the location. It’s about an 8 min walk to a clean beach where everyone is kind.

The owners were helpful and responsive, the location was great and steps away from beautiful Sheridan Beach and close proximity to the Indiana Dunes and other tourist attractions. The house was remodeled nicely and well organized. The beds were very comfortable as well. I could feel all the hard work and effort they put into remodeling their century-old fisherman’s cottage with lots of fish stories told I’m sure lol. Will definitely stay again!😊

Very clean! Nice decor….. beds were comfy. We cooked twice and had everything we needed. The privacy fence on the breezeway was appreciated as were the citronella candles. Nice, private area. 😊
