Things to note Dear guests! Hot tub can‘t be used yet! We apologize for the inconvenience. About this space Cosy and bright cabin in Hvalfjörður ( Whale fjord) built 2023. A great spot to enjoy nature and the beautiful northern lights, still close to the city ( around 50 min. from Reykjavík) and all major attractions in south-west Iceland. It´s a magical place close to many amazing sights like the Golden Circle, Þingvellir national park, Geysir (within an hour away) Glymur, second highest waterfall & great hiking paths (10 min. away), Síldarmannagötur, Mt. Þyrill and so on. The cabin is located in the north of Hvalfjörður in the hill and Mt Brekkukambur at the back, facing the south with beautiful surroundings and ocean view. Even if its only 50 minutes from Reykjavik, it is very private and you truly feel one with nature. You can walk around for hours in total privacy and emerge yourself with nature enjoying the peacefulness of the ocean and the incredible landscape all around the Whale Fjord. In the west are many wonderful attractions like Langjökull glacier and Húsafell lava tunnels and waterfalls. Snæfellsjökull glacier, located at the Snæfellsnes Peninsula with many attractions, like Arnarstapi, Djúpalónsandur, Hellnar, Kirkjuflell (the most photographed mountain in Iceland). Enjoy the northern lights, just outside on the patio or watch them from the warm inside through the extra high glassfront of the house. Anytime between late September to late March is a good time for northern lights hunting. Clean sheets and towels will be provided for all guests when you arrive and the house will be carefully cleaned after guests leave. Please make sure that the bathroom should be always dryed after showering. Best way is to keep the door open or opening the window. You can use whatever you find in the kitchen. Usually you will find sugar, salt and pepper, oil and wine vinegar, some tea and coffee beans for coffee machine. We strongly recommend a 4x4 in winter time (December – March) to reach the cabin. The cabin is located in a beautiful and quiet surroundings with many opportunities for great hikes and other nature experiences all year round, not far from Reykjavík and only ten minutes drive from the town of Borgarnes. There you can find all essentials, visit museums and shops and indulge at our favorite café, Kaffi Kyrrð.

The cottage is located at the top of the slope with a mountain, lake and woodland view. Direct access for nice hiking or romantic walk to the salmon river and the lake. It is close to many attractive destinations worth to visit. All beds are brand new and comfortable and heat in all floors. We wish our guests to feel like home and enjoy what the cottage and neigbourhood has to offer.

Our cabin is a quiet cozy place. Located in Svarfhólsskógur in Hvalfjördur, only 45 minutes drive from the city. Beautiful views of mountains and woods all around the cabin. The area around the cabin is wooded with low growing birch trees typical of the Icelandic woods. As a base for sightseeing on the west coast this is a great location. Close to Snaefellsnes, and also the many sights in Borgarfjördur, waterfalls, glaciers, caves and much more. If you enjoy nature this is the place for you.

View the sunset over the lake or see the Aurora Borealis, when the conditions are right, from the deck wrapping around the house or even from the hot tub. This secluded home situated in a mountain valley offers wooden accents throughout, and comfortable Amenities. It feels far away from any city, and yet it is only 40 min drive from center Reykjavik. Many points of interest in the west and south of Iceland are within easy reach. Note there are 90km from Keflavik international airport.

Cozy and comfortable cottage with panoramic view. The cottage sleeps 4, with a double bed in the bedroom and a sofa bed in the living room that sleeps two. The kitchen is well equipped with fridge/freezer, coffeemaker, stove and oven. The cottage has balcony all around with sheltering fences that make it ideal to enjoy the summer weather or look at the northern lights during winter. Parking in front of the cottage. Laundry service is available during opening hours at Laxárbakki.

Cool Cottage close to Reykjavík - hot tub

The cottage is located on a farm, Kalastadir, only 55 km from Reykjavik. It can house up to 6 people. It´s close to the sea and you can see the seals play along the shore. There is a free WIFI and on the veranda is a private hot tub where you can soak while enjoying the view. It´s close to Glymur, the tallest waterfall in Iceland and the shore where the seals are. Since there is no light polution here as in towns and Reykjavík, it´s a good place to watch the Northern Lights.

Our 78 square meter 1 bedroom cottage is located 50 minutes drive from Reykjavik. The cottage is luxurious and has an outdoor natural water hot tub from where you can enjoy the Northern Lights or the fantastic sunset. The living area and the balcony have a spectacular view overlooking the fjord and surrounding mountains. The cottage is a great base for day tours in the south or west of Iceland. Gullfoss, Geysir, Thingvellir and Snæfells glacier are all within 1-2 hours’ drive.

Sólvellir 2: A nice cottage near Reykjavík

A forty-five minute drive away from Reykjavík, in the beautiful fjord Hvalfjörður and by the lake Withalfellsvatn, the cottage Sólvellir is located. With the cottage comes a garden and a terrace with a barbeque. The cottage includes a private bathroom with a shower, a kitchen, TV and a free WiFi. The surrounding area is full of nature and has many exciting hiking trails, and during the winter there is a high chance of northern lights.
