What a fabulous find. We loved staying at this property and could have happily stayed longer. The property is well equipped, spacious, warm and cosy. This property was perfect for a long weekend away with lots of things to do. Close to the cafes, shop and perfect if you love the beach. Thanks Ellen! We will be back.

We loved the tranquility and peace, and it was a great location near the beach. It's well set up and we loved the secure fences for our two Jack Russells. All in all, a very good choice for a leisurely weekend away from Wellington. It ticked the boxes.

Staying at Chris’s Airbnb was a truly wonderful experience. The home was spotless, beautifully styled, and had everything we needed to feel comfortable and at ease. Every detail felt thoughtful and welcoming — it was clear a lot of care had gone into making the space feel like a home away from home. But what made the stay truly memorable was Chris himself. From the beginning, his communication was warm, clear, and prompt. He was incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely cared that we had a great experience. You can really tell when someone loves being a host — and Chris absolutely does. I couldn’t recommend this place enough. If you’re considering booking — do it. The perfect place for a getaway. Close to lots of food and shopping areas. The house is nice and open but private with beautiful character. we will definitely stay here again.

We had a great long weekend here, really well set up for groups and families. The kids enjoyed the outdoor area and loved being able to walk down to the beach.

We stayed here with 12 friends for my husband’s 30th, and it was absolutely perfect. He loves native bush and birds, so this place was a dream. The house feels like a fairytale—spacious, warm, and beautifully designed. The kitchen is well-equipped and flows easily to the patio, where we barbecued and dined outdoors. There’s a handy kitchen window for passing food outside, and both indoor and outdoor tables made it easy to adapt to the weather. The property sits on 7 acres of native bush with walking tracks, birds like piwakawakas following us, and a magical glow worm walk at night. There's an outdoor fire area with couches, ambient lighting, and a speaker system that connects throughout the house and outside. It’s perfect for reconnecting with friends and nature. We left feeling relaxed, happy, and so grateful. Huge thanks to the hosts for the clear communication and thoughtful touches. If you're thinking of booking—do it. You won’t regret it.

We had a family weekend away and this was the perfect spot, for three families, including our 6 month old grand child, 93 year old grandad, and our little dogs! It served us all!! Thank you Marie and Murray!

Mark was responsive and made the check in easy. Awesome set up with the outdoor fire and badminton course. Very close to the beach too.

What a stunning little escape! Well worth the distance from town. Super comfy little cottage and hosts were so lovely. And Heathers Date scones were fantastic!! (I need that recipe!!) hosts were so responsive and accommodating with extra blankets etc. was such a lovely night away!

Putara Base Camp is a fantastic place to stay with a group of friends to escape the city to the countryside. The accommodation is rustic but comfortable and has everything you need, including a great supply of firewood. The space was tidy, and the bathrooms were clean. Michelle communicated the check-in instructions clearly. The countryside surroundings are absolutely gorgeous. Overall, it was an awesome stay. Definitely recommended!

Loved our stay here, beautiful to be out in nature! We were fortunate to be the last guests and would’ve loved to come back!!
