My husband found this rental about six months ago while watching the Salish Sasquatch on YouTube. He showed me the listing and I kept it in the back of my mind as his 50th birthday was coming up and it looked like a fun place for the family celebration. Our stay at this vacation rental was nothing short of amazing! Though remote and completely off-grid, the home was stocked with everything we could possibly need—and more. It’s clear that an extraordinary amount of care and thought has gone into making this space not only functional, but comfortable (even luxurious!), and most of all memorable. The attention to detail and thoughtful touches are what truly set this rental apart, beginning with the warm in-person welcome. The setting is peaceful, private, and the view stunning. The outdoor spaces were perfect for morning coffee, evening drinks, games, and fires under the stars. We absolutely loved it and cant wait to share the experience of this stay with others.

I so highly recommend staying here! Karen’s cabin is beautiful and nestled into such a serene spot in the forest. There are so many thoughtful touches - you have absolutely everything needed for a VERY comfortable experience showering and cooking in the forest. Karen is very kind and responded immediately to any questions we had. We would absolutely love to stay here again as a jumping off point for Olympic National Park. Thanks for such a lovely weekend!

Our experience started the moment we passed through the gated entrance. Tree lined driveway with a small stream and a huge horse arena on the way up to the Cottage. We arrived late, so the process of checking in was super simple. We enjoyed the farm animals, warm fire at night and went for walks on nearby trails. The little Cottage was clean and cozy. We were looking for a place to be close to nature, but yet have shopping and local scenery nearby. The host and their team was beyond friendly and helpful with any questions or needs. We already reserved to return in a few months. Enjoyed our time and wasn’t ready to leave.

The Castaways house might be one of the best-appointed Airbnb's our family has ever taken. It's a beautiful home in a beautiful setting with plenty of spaces, public and private, to satisfy all 3 generations who came for a spring "break!" The gaming area downstairs captured our grandchildren & children, & we had great fun watching the huge TV screen after dark. We had one very good dinner out, and went to a local rocky beach to dig clams for our clam linguini night. Two hikes, one along the lake/river at Staircase and another in deep, beautiful rainforest got everyone out looking for banana slugs and Bald Eagles! Kayaks were available, but we'll have to plan that for next time. The hosts were exceptionally helpful and available. We highly recommend this spot and expect to be back ourselves.
