Admire the Eclectic Aesthetic at a Historic City Sanctuary
Soak up the vintage charm of this basement hideaway built by a silver baron in 1891, featuring original red brick walls and oriental rugs. Old England meets the Wild West, while mementos from international travels add even more character. We will keep you safe during your visit. We have a dedicated professional cleaner for the apartment, who cleans and disinfects between guests based on CDC guidelines. There are sanitizers and cleaning supplies for your use in the apartment, and you need never meet us. The apartment is part of the original basement from 1891, so it has exposed granite exterior walls and interior brick walls. The apartment includes a newly renovated kitchen and bathroom, new heating, tile floors, oriental carpets, and a new (firm) bed. Air conditioning was installed in July 2019 to keep you cool. The apartment is decorated with Colorado antiques, with the exception of the new bed and new sofa bed. Much like when the house was originally decorated by the Irish-born gentleman who struck silver, it is old-England-meets-the-Wild-West, with mementos from international travels. The bedside lamp is made out of the bottle of champagne drunk the night in 1978 uncle B. first met the beautiful and mysterious K. in St Moritz, the drawing from old Cairo was bought back in 1921, and we often wonder who the Turkish officer was whose 1890s portrait was found in great-uncle's estate. The apartment has English linen curtains, and some of life's smaller necessities, such as Frette linens, down comforters, hard and soft pillows, marble in the bathroom and crystal wine glasses. In season, it will have fresh flowers from the garden. It features a fully equipped kitchen with Brita filtered water. Also included are everything we hope you will need: hair dryer alarm clock iron ironing board toaster electric kettle microwave gas stove refrigerator with freezer basic toiletries For your safety and privacy, the apartment includes an egress window and safety exit, safety card, two fire extinguishers, fire alarm system, carbon monoxide sensor, first aid kit, non-slip bath mat, window blinds, bed and bathroom door locks, and a Remote Lock electronic deadbolt, with a dedicated code for each guest. Outside the guest entrance is a small common picnic area with table seating, and a propane fire column. Use the On-site coin operated guest laundromat (down the stairs from the Common Southside Entrance). We most often parallel park in front on the street, and if you have a car, you can do likewise. It's usually easy parking on our block. However, as an alternative to street parking, when available, you can rent from us a $10/day designated parking space in back (2 spots offered for 3 apartments). Let us know your vehicle plate, model & make at check-in, so you don't get towed. Access is automated online--you'll receive keypad codes upon booking (for Common Southside Entrance & also for your Apartment door). The codes for your apartment door are auto-generated, and issued directly to you. Once you get settled in, check out our welcome package. We live onsite, and you can phone us anytime during your stay, so don't hesitate to phone us to say hello, request a tour, or for questions. When in season, ask to visit our bees or discuss the roses or other garden plants, or we can chat about our favorite spots in the neighborhood. The property is located very close to the longest and once considered the most wicked main street in America, Colfax Avenue. Visit Cheeseman Park for a walk, connect with plants at Denver Botanic Gardens, and jog to the pool at Congress Park. Many guests walk everywhere from here. If you're visiting Denver from out of town, consider going sans auto. You can walk a block, hop on the bus. This property has a rocking bike score (97). Check out a bike at Denver B Cycle Station Rental located just on the other side of our street. For a small town version of a NYC Central Park leisurely or work out bike ride, you may find that a ride in City Park isn't a bad substitute. A quick $10 Uber ride can get you to Union Station trains, LoDo's nightlife, the Convention Center, any ball game, or a show at the Center for Performing Arts. We have children, so please no drugs, and no smoking or vaping of any kind anywhere on the property. We have pets, but they reside with us, and do not have access to the apartments. Due to the turnover rates for the apartments, and the burden it would cause to prepare each apartment for the next guest, we can't allow pets. If you miss your cat or dog, you can ask to pet ours! Our listings are stand-alone private apartments designed to be full rentals for urban professionals. The apartments are affixed to our historic home, which has its own page in "The Wyman Historic District" of the Historic Denver Guide Series. The garden is private, but you'll walk through it to reach the Common Southside Entrance. When in season, it's buzzing and chirping. This apartment is very private and relatively quiet for the city. You may hear sirens, sometimes, since it's located near Colfax. Sometimes when upstairs Airbnb renters walk, depending on the renters, you may hear steps.

Artisan Loft in Historic Five Points with Rustic Red Bricks
Explore Denver's art district, then climb the steel stairs to this eclectic loft where vintage charm meets steam-punk fashion. Portuguese-style patterned tiles blend seamlessly with a bottle top coffee table and industrial-chic lighting. This space was a family project (Steve, Lisa and Mick who are brothers and sister) – a carriage house built behind our 1900s house near downtown Denver. The building was designed to mimic older architecture to fit-in with the historic neighborhood. The interior was designed to carry that vintage charm inside with exposed brick and steam-punk fixtures and furniture to blend vintage and industrial design elements. We designed and built the structure including detail such as the black pipe chandelier, steel stair case and funky locker cabinets in the bathroom and bedrooms. Handcrafted items and collections from our family are displayed around the house. The carriage house is exclusively for guests so anything you see is available including food and drink. As much or as little as the guests desire. We will be helpful in answering any questions about the neighborhood and where to eat and drink. Historic Curtis Park is situated between two commercial corridors: Welton and Larimer (RiNo). There are plenty of restaurants, craft breweries, wineries, cideries, and dispensaries nearby. Take the A-Train from DIA to Blake and 38th Station. From there it's a 12-minute walk or a short Uber/Lyft ride. B-Cycle station nearby at 33rd and Araopahoe I'm new at this but my brother Mick hosts the "1880s Carriage House" across the street which is Colorado's Number one airbnb, so I'm getting hosting tips from him.
