Hilo Bay Oceanfront B&B (Room #3) King Bay View

MichaelRating, 5 stars26 months ago
Is it possible to give 10 stars instead of 5? This is most possibly the best AirBNB experience anywhere. The host meets you at the door, brings your luggage up to your room, gives you an orientation to more amenities than I’ve ever seen. Everything from guidebook Stephen ocular‘s, a medical cabinet, snacks, and the most beautiful Hawaiian breakfast served I’ve ever seen. Views from both the small dining room as well as the bedroom worth the stuff that dreams are made of! I would never stay anywhere else in Hilo ever again. Highly recommended!

Honeymoon Cottage. Hot Tub. 1 Mile to the Park

JeffRating, 5 stars44 months ago
Absolute Gem!! This has to be one of the most cute cabins we’ve ever rented! The cabin is just perfect for 2, and is very well appointed. Gorgeous inside and the property around it is like a fairy tale filled with beautiful flowers, plants & trees. Let the rain tapping on the roof and the frogs serenade you to sleep. Perfectly located to allow you to explore the island during the day, come back for an early evening nap and get up to see the volcano lava flows at night! Amazing place and excellent host. Do not hesitate in booking this.
A cozy sleeping area is highlighted by an intricately designed headboard with a complementing light-colored quilt. Soft blue and white tones create a calming atmosphere. A nightstand is positioned beside the bed, featuring a lamp and decorative items. Folded towels are neatly arranged on the bed.

At the Beach with Friends B & B - Bamboo Room

AnnieRating, 5 stars34 months ago
We enjoyed being within walking distance to our favorite snorkeling spot in Hilo, at Richardson Park. Claudia is a charming host that will prepare a fabulous breakfast every morning with fresh fruits and other treats. Ask for the waffles, made on the spot! Sleeping to the sound of the frogs and the rain makes you feel that you are in the middle of the jungle. There are mosquitos outside but none inside.

Hilo Bay Oceanfront B&B (Suite #2) King Bay View

TraciRating, 5 stars51 months ago
After reading all the reviews of our place, we were excited to have hosts that sounded hospitable and helpful; unlike our stay on the Kona side. At first they both seemed disinterested (or shy?) in us. We were surprised, but went on our way and talked to other guests. By day 2 we interacted more with Cheryl and found she is actually an amazing host and wealth of information!! Breakfast will be great as said in many of the reviews. They have thought of everything a guest could need (and if not, they WILL run out and get it!) Stay here if going to Hilo!
A corner room features two queen beds dressed in coral-patterned linens. Natural light enters through two large windows, and dark curtain panels frame the space. A ceiling fan adds comfort, while a door leads to an outdoor area surrounded by greenery.

Hilo Bay Oceanfront B&B (Room #5) Sleeps 4

Ben And JennaRating, 5 stars26 months ago
This place was great. You get to enjoy great breakfast and local fruit right on the water. You couldn’t get any closer without being in it! I highly recommend the coconut and macadamia nut pancakes in the morning. We stayed in a room with two queens and there were 4 of us. They said it’s usually great for two adults and two kids but the room was plenty big for us. The high ceilings and French doors that open onto a porch makes for a great feel. If we come back to Hilo this will be my first choice. Walkable distance to restaurants and shops. Personally, I don’t think the pictures do this place justice. I thought it looked much better in person.

Loved this private place in the rainforest setting and the recycling energy saving methods used here, comfy and quiet and minutes from the park. Only issue was finding it in the dark, the road is very dark and hard to see what driveway to enter..

Lehua Room at Kulaniapia Falls

JessicaRating, 5 stars23 months ago
This accommodation was one of our favorites during our stay on the Big Island. The property is beautiful and we loved the constant sound of the waterfall next to our room for 2 nights. Sadly the waterfall was too rough to enter the day we planned to go SUPing, so we never got to have that experience, but we would happily return!

We had such a wonderful time with Chad and Jennifer. The property was so much more than we even thought. The property is so beautiful and well maintained. Truly unique property with unparalleled beauty. Chad and Jennifer are such gracious, informative hosts. We will definitely look to stay again. Highly recommend. This is a special experience and stay, far beyond what can be described. The pictures, although beautiful, don’t come anywhere near to describing it.

We had an absolutely wonderful time! Our host was gracious, insightful about the area! He was fun to talk to and everything was perfect! My boys and husband had a fabulous time. We really got to see Hawaiian life like a local. My son doesn’t eat chocolate and when Erich found this out he was so sweet to change the muffins to no chocolate. We had an amazing time and we cannot wait till the next time we get to go back and visit Erich and Susa. again! Super easy to see the Hilo side of the island, Volcano National Park, all the cool beaches and more! Boom here you’ll be glad you did!

This beautiful location for the bed and breakfast is along a river with access to a lovely waterfall. The accommodations were simple and very comfortable. The surroundings are serene and very special. We enjoyed the short hike down and swimming under the powerful waterfalls. The morning (when sun shines in the water) is best time to check it out. The staff are helpful and kind. It's a great place to stay if you are checking out nearby Hilo or other sites east side of island.

Good value and location in a quiet neighborhood in Volcano. I was on a trip to to see Kilauea erupt and this place allowed me easy access to the volcanoes park and village eateries and Sunday farm market. They were communicative before check in and check out and provided a cutting board/knife I used to cut a couple of pineapples during my visit. Price beats expensive resorts, plus there aren't a lot of people around.

It was a wonderful trip. Vina and her family were very kind and made every effort to make our stay at BIG ISLAND comfortable. We had everything we needed. The fresh fruit we were given was delicious. The room was very clean and comfortable. The private bathroom was spacious too. It was quiet and the neighbors were kind, so it was a very peaceful stay. Highly recommended.

The location was beautiful, the community was fabulous, I've never been somewhere that the other guests were so chatty and welcoming. It was my first time in Hawaii, first vacation in over a decade, and it was magical! I will definitely be staying here again when I'm on the big island! The Monday night bbq is a big event that brings members of the community from all over the island! The kitchen was great, but some other guests' items had spilled into my section of the fridge but no biggie as I didn't have much I needed space for since I was planning to try as much local food as I could. I would recommend that, even if you plan to eat out, you should bring coffee and/or breakfast type snacks as the nearest town is about a 15 minute drive. There was a breakfast service available that I didn't take advantage of because I was going to local restaurants. 11/10 Thanks for the stay Mathew! I had an absolutely amazing time and I wish I'd been staying longer!
