Vacation rentals with lake access in Herrington Lake

It was perfect for our group of 9 - very spacious and fun. Nicer than any of us expected from the photos. We were in town for a wedding and this was so much better than staying at a hotel! Amanda was quick to respond to questions and even notified us about incoming storms so we would be ready. Overall an excellent experience and I do recommend it if you are in the area.

The house was very nice, spacious and comfortable. The water toys that were available were a fun touch. The outdoor decks are great places to hang out, too!

The location is superb is you are trying to see Kentucky. The distance to Louisville, Lexington and Frankfort are all about equal. Shelbyville is a few miles away and it has some great restaurants and nice shopping. While staying there we visited Churchill Downs, Buffalo Trace and Shelbyville. The house has kayaks and a little fishing equipment. We spend a lot of time on the decks and fishing on the dock. This was a great, peaceful getaway from life at home.

We just celebrated our daughter’s college graduation from Centre college in Danville over Memorial Day weekend! The place was perfect for us and our family all traveling from out of state. Convenient location close to Danville but also close to the distilleries. Would definitely recommend this house it was beautiful and peaceful right on the water! House looks exactly like the pictures! Highly recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay! It was unique in that it offers a main house and a guest house, and it turned out that this was the perfect arrangement for us (2 moms who are close friends, and our two sons, who are also close friends). When we weren't out and about, we all hung out in the A-frame main house. At bedtime, we parted ways.The A-frame has everything you might need during your stay. Then you also have the boathouse, which is beyond cute and very cozy. Both structures overlook the lake, and the outdoor deck spaces are very comfortable and inviting. I especially appreciated the propane fire pit one evening when it got a little chilly. Also, having a Keurig and pods in each house was awesome! Shelly sent detailed directions in advance of our travels, which was very helpful, and she made some local recommendations re: food and groceries. We followed up on those, and were not disappointed! She was also very responsive to us when we asked for assistance or recommendations. <3

This was a lovely country getaway. I had a fantastic time fishing, kayaking, and enjoying the lakefront. If you're looking for a quiet, low-key trip, this is a great choice.

Loved our stay! The house had everything we needed to enjoy a long weekend. We were walking distance to a local bbq restaurant and right across from Lake Linville. We were able to walk across the street and do a little fishin’.

We loved everything about this home away from home. The interior was very well decorated and detailed so well! The beds were comfortable and extra linens were available. The bathroom was top of line with a walk in shower and rain spout. Plenty of towels available. The outdoor covered porches that overlooked the lake was my favorite place to enjoy a warm cup of coffee and watch the geese swim around and then in the evening with a nice glass of bourbon! The fire pit was amazing with the wet cool weather we had! The kitchen had ample space and everything we needed to do a couple nights of dinner in. They also had a cute little Kentucky Derby themed bar downstairs next to the laundry room with some games! We cannot say enough great things about this wonderful home!

Our stay was a week at the end of May 2025. The Cicadas were loud and active. The heavy rains and high lake levels caused logs and debris to basically block our dock so we couldn’t use the provided kayaks or paddle boards… just Mother Nature. We did enjoy a couple of bonfires in the evenings with plenty of firewood provided. S’mores were also supplied along with forks. There were a lot of sitting areas on the porch and decks and yard. The cottage was clean with a spacious living room and kitchen, lovely decorated with plenty of dishes and linens supplied. There is a dollar store and an ice-cream store 10 minutes away. All in all our family enjoyed this cottage.

There is so much to say about this place. This was our second time to Spencer's cottage. We love that it is on the river. We enjoy watching the boats go by. There is so much to do in the area. This year we enjoyed horseback riding, crystal kayaking, and railroad pedal cars. During our stay we even booked another night as we were not ready to come home. The hot tub was great to come back to after our adventures. We spent most our time out on the large deck. The stocked kitchen makes it easy to prepare meals.
