For the outdoor enthusiasts Helderberg provide trails for hiking and mtbiking and our dam covers swimming, rowing and sundowners.

Wine Farm Cottage

The cottage offers guests an unique opportunity to stay on a rustic working wine farm. It forms part of the farmstead of a historic wine farm, but has its own little garden with a view over vineyards. It is located on the R44 between Stellenbosch and Somerset West, which makes it the ideal place to reside when exploring the many surrounding wineries and restaurants. The road may be a bit noisy, but most guests hear birds more often than they hear cars. The cottage was built in the 1980’s.

The Rigel Retreat is a relaxing getaway with amazing garden views which backs onto a nature reserve. The private open plan interior with an attached kitchenette. The space offers a patio with a braai area, hammock and pool which you are welcome to enjoy. Situated on a hill, the views of the Helderberg basin are incredible. The guest suite is located in a safe, quiet neighbourhood with a park only a short walk down the road. Somerset West has a wide variety of sites to explore.

The room has everything you need to have a relaxing stay and also features a desk that is ideal for working or catching up on emails. Enjoy the many hiking or cycling trails in the area, close to all major routes to Cape Town, Stellenbosch Winelands or across the mountain to the beautiful Overberg region. Enjoy your own BBQ on the private patio with one of our local wines, for you and your guest.

Stonewall guest suite

This guest suite is set on a working wine farm in the winelands between Somerset West and the historic town Stellenbosch. It is situated in what used to be the stables and has since been converted to a tasting room and guest suite. The suite consists of a big, airy room, a separate kitchenette and a bathroom. It has its own front porch with a view over the farmstead and it is adjacent to a chicken coop.
