Pure Japanese style traditional House Entire house

This is one of the few remaining traditional Japanese-style buildings in Hiroshima City, built 75 years ago, shortly after the war, in the Shoin-zukuri architectural style. It is a quiet environment just a step away from the main street, and there is a small Japanese-style garden where you can relax. There are also items that can only be found in the Mai House, such as a vase that partially melted from the heat of the Hiroshima atomic bomb on August 6, 1945, and photographs from about 100 years ago. The fixtures and glass panes date back more than 70 years, and the atmosphere of a traditional Japanese house is particularly evident in features such as the two gardens, the alcove, and the study. Currently, these items can only be obtained by placing orders with a limited number of artisans. Of the 5 rooms, 3 are tatami mat rooms, so please lay a futon on the tatami mat when you go to bed. Located in Minami-ku, Hiroshima City, you can get there on a single city train. About 20 minutes from the nearest tram stop ① to Hiroshima Station From the nearest station/stop ②, it takes about 20–30 minutes to get to the Peace Memorial Park, the Atomic Bomb Dome, and the city center. The taxi ride takes about 10 minutes. There is a large shopping mall, Youme Town Hiroshima, which offers everything for daily life, as well as convenience stores (7-Eleven, FamilyMart), restaurants (okonomiyaki, ramen, sushi, yakiniku, waffles, bakery, etc.), all within walking distance.

[Entire rental] Entire rental of a Meiji-era house built by a Chōshū-Kyū master builder | 1-minute walk to the beach, 10 minutes by car to the hot spring, limited to 1 group per day

When I opened the wooden framed storm door, the sea breeze slipped through. All you will hear is the sound of birds. The history of the Toyotake residence dates back to the Warring States period. The Toyotake family, which prospered as a merchant in this area, caught the attention of Toyotomi Hideyoshi with their influence and military prowess, and was granted the two characters "Toyo" (meaning "abundance") and "Take" (meaning "military prowess").Since then, for hundreds of years, this mansion has been preserved with the pride of the Toyotake family. The current building was built by Choshu no Miya's carpenters over 130 years ago.Nagayamon, the storehouse, and the main house are arranged around a courtyard, and the wooden frames and sliding doors, which are still in their original state without sashes, retain the atmosphere of life in those days.Sit on the veranda and open the wooden framed storm door, and a pleasant sea breeze will slowly pass through the hall. Located in the particularly quiet eastern part of Suoh-Oshima, this place is gently separated from the outside world by a nagaya gate and a fence. The moment you step into that corner, you may experience a mysterious sensation as if time is somehow slowing down. I dropped the record needle in the storage room and indulged in the luxury of doing nothing on the veranda. That alone fills the day. Please enjoy your time at the Toyotake residence as the master of the Meiji era.

Revitalization of a 106-year-old inn and storehouse, featuring a Japanese moss garden and a semi-open-air bath, 188 m² [Limited to one group per day, Kominya Mitsuhama Inn]

┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓ ◆ Limited to one group per day/private ~ long-established ryokan and warehouse experience-style stay ◆ ┗━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┛ ■ Location, History, Features ■ In Mitsuhama, the port town of Matsuyama/Dogo, there are four white-walled storehouses built in the Edo period and four gardens surrounding a 106-year-old long-established kaiseki ryokan (formerly the Kanaga Ryokan). The white plastered earthen walls, natural Kenji-ji bamboo fences, and other features have been gradually renovated and revitalized (currently in the process of revitalization).Originally an old house opened as an almost 100% inbound accommodation. We are conducting a semi open-air bath in the interior of the warehouse and renovation work centered around the water. ■ Soothing moss garden ■ There are three gardens: a front garden, a courtyard, and a back garden. Well water flows everywhere, and there is a stream that flows between the water basin, the gourd, the deer repeller, and the stepping stones. The pond is home to koi, goldfish, medaka, conger eel, and river shrimp, and it is a biotope space where wild birds visit. ■ Chick-in lounge (cafe/bar space), souvenir corner ■ You can drink authentic cocktails on the first floor of the main building. There is a souvenir corner with imported interior goods, accessories, natural stone, and more from Japan, Bali, and other countries.

Kominka in Miyajima that warms the heart

Guest House Kokoro is located one block from Miyajima's Machiya-dori Street. When you pass through the warm curtain at the entrance, you are guided to the courtyard by stepping stones, with bamboo walls reminiscent of a Kyoto row house restaurant. The courtyard is also beautifully balanced with white marble and gravel, contributing to the calm atmosphere. There are glass doors in the living room that allow you to see the courtyard. The building is only for guests to stay in through the garden, so there is no need to worry about anyone. From the outside, it is an ordinary private house, but when you step inside, it has a different atmosphere, which is part of the charm of the inn. I heard that the previous owner has always loved gardening and had a wide range of hobbies. However, as I mentioned at the beginning, I didn't intend to start an inn at first, so there is no bath facility (there is a shower). However, you can use the nearby inns as an outdoor bath. The first floor is a living room, and the second floor is a two-room Japanese-style bedroom, and up to 6 people can stay comfortably. In the courtyard, there is a white stone character "kokoro" (heart) inscribed in the gravel. It was made by the gardener a long time ago for fun, and it is the origin of the name of the inn. He said he wants to welcome people with all his heart and help them relax and enjoy their stay.

A house overlooking the Seto Inland Sea

The ultimate hideaway to escape the noisy, busy city, and spend time quietly with family, loved ones, and close friends, just watching the sea. I created this accommodation because I wish there was a place like this. ☆This is not a hotel. We want you to think about how you want to spend your time. On sunny days, enjoy morning coffee on the large wooden deck. In the cold winter, warm up with a wood stove, and make and eat a delicious meal yourself. Play your favorite music, and read surrounded by books lining the walls. Take a walk to Gero Station while catching a glimpse of life in Gero. Fishing at sea, picking azaleas, bamboo shoots, and wild potatoes in the mountains, and eating them yourself. Long stays are recommended. Based at Shimonada Cabin, it is about an hour's drive to Matsuyama City. 2.5 hours to Shimanto River. 3 hours to Shikoku Karst. Shopping can be done in Iyo City or Nagahama Town, or you can buy from local fishmongers and greengrocers and cook for yourself. Of course, you can also eat at a nearby restaurant if you book. Anyway, I want you to relax at Shimonada Cabin. One night is too wasteful. I recommend at least 2 days. It is a place that can be enjoyed in good weather or bad.
