Family-friendly vacation rentals in Hammonds Plains

Such a beautiful AirBnB. It was perfect for our family of 6 adults and 1 infant. Spacious and wonderful views. The kitchen was perfect for preparing meals. Lots of outdoor sitting areas, and we enjoyed the hot tub, outdoor fireplace and canoeing. A great location for exploring Lunenburg, Mahone Bay, and several beaches. Melissa was a wonderful host 😊. You won’t regret staying at Three Sheep’s to the Wind.

We had the pleasure to stay for the month of August. Great location overlooking a lake, just a short walk to a small quiet beach on the ocean. An old railway track converted to biking/walking path close by. Close to groceries and restaurants. Great location for day trips to Peggy’s cove/Halifax boardwalk/many parks and beaches. The home had everything you need. Just bring your swim trunks and spirit of adventure. We highly recommend a stay at this lovely spot.

We came for the Hunter Moon and fell in love with the sunsets and walking on the beach. Lots of places to explore in the area.

This was our daughters first vacation out of the province so we were unsure of how it would go as she had just turned 4. We had such a lovely stay at Sarah's cozy lakefront cottage! It was peaceful and quiet — the perfect spot to relax and recharge. The location was great, with easy access to nearby attractions and some beautiful beaches close by as well as some others 1-2 hrs drive away. The host was friendly and made us feel right at home. The beds were really comfortable, which made for a great night’s sleep after days spent exploring. Our daughter was thrilled with all the toys available, and we really enjoyed the selection of board games for some fun family evenings. We’d absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a calm, family-friendly getaway. We’d love to come back some day - our daughter did not want to come home.

What a beautiful location. The suite had everything we needed and we fell asleep to the sound of the surf. Need to go back and stay longer!

Marvellous start of our 5+ weeks Nova Scotia - Newfoundland tour. Lovely apartment with outstanding view located directly at the beach.

Great stay! The place is exactly as described and the pictures show. You can’t do better for location! You can walk anywhere downtown and have so many new restaurants just below the condo. There is ample space for everyone and the kitchen is well stocked with pots and pans for cooking at home. Chris was a fantastic host, he answered all my questions promptly and checked in as well. I will definitely come back and wouldn’t hesitate to use Chris to help find me a space.

Our family was coming for a wedding- it was a stunning place for us to gather and enjoy - reality- I wish would have been able to stay longer. I highly recommend this place- stunning space and great hosts. Can’t wait to come back. Thank you for everything.

Wonderful cottage by the lake, stocked with everything you could need for long or short stays. The views from the house onto the lake are amazing. Michael is so friendly and welcoming, we will miss his place. Wish we could have stayed longer, and we would definitely stay at one of Michael’s properties again. He made us feel so welcome and at home.

Most of what I'm saying is echoing what other Guests have said - it's all still true for 2024: Morry is great to work with, cottage is clean and well-equipped,  the views here are wonderful, beds are comfy and the layout worked well for us with the two main floor bedrooms on opposite sides.  The kitchen is a good size and the two full bathrooms are like new. There's a great hike trailhead a stone's throw away and, if you haven't already, you will fall in love with Prospect, NS!!

Lovely spot, weather was hot so the cool breeze from the lake was very welcoming. Lots of thought has gone into providing all the comforts of home. Lots of board games , cards etc and selection of kids toys and drawing materials . Extra thoughtful touches , a welcoming bottle of wine , coffee pods, condiments etc Having the use of kayaks was great and life jackets also provided . A very calm relaxing feel to the cottage , we loved it!

This place was just what we needed for our stay in Halifax. We were within walking distance of local restaurants and a cycle shop where we could rent bikes. The inside was cosy, clean, and really made you feel welcome. Andrea was responsive and a lovely host! Would definitely recommend. :)

We had an incredible trip at Candace's place. The home was stunning and was perfect for our group of 6. If you have the opportunity to book your trip to Halifax here, I would definitely recommend!

Barrie is a wonderful host and the location of this home is truly incredible. We had everything we needed, plus our own island! We hope to be back!

PAM &J.P on été extraordinaires. Nous avons été ravis par notre séjour et sommes tombés en amour avec la Nouvelle-Ecosse. Les animaux étaient un extra inattendus. Gustave va beaucoup s’ennuyer de Maple. Petit commentaire QUI N’EST PAS UNE CRITIQUE. Le réfrigérateur n’est pas très grand alors, ne pas faire une trop grosse épicerie à chaque fois. Nous sommes arrivés avec trop de choses et tout ne rentrait pas. Mais encore une fois ce n’est pas grave. Il y une épicerie pas tres loin. Ça se fait très bien. Faut juste pas prévoir trop longtemps d’avance si vous avez une grosse famille comme la mienne. La piscine est extraordinaire!!!!! Près de pleins de belles plages . Nous avons passé un super beau moment en famille!!!

Our family had a lovely gathering at the Porter Lake Cottage. There was lots of room for meal preparation and eating. The house had lots of very useful amenities including kitchen wares, paddle boats, a BBQ and even games and puzzles. The deck was a great place to sit outside and the living room was also quite comfortable. The washing machine and dryer were also very good. We loved the access to the waterfront. The morning sun made this a beautiful place to sit with a cup of tea in the mornings. The only thing that would have made this better would have been a kayak or two. Porters Lake is very large and would be an interesting place to paddle.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at AJ's place. The house was perfectly clean and thoughtfully appointed - the kitchen had absolutely everything we could think of and we felt like we were at home immediately. The bed was luxurious in both size and comfort and had pillows perfectly suited to us. I can't rave enough about the overall comfort of this home and the views that accompanied it were brilliant. I really enjoyed watching the geese and ducks on the lake every morning and loved the privacy of the property as a whole. AJ was thoughtful and prompt in all their communications and super helpful with any queries we had. Highly recommend!

We had an absolutely incredible experience here. I would recommend this airbnb to everyone! Ample space, fabulous amenities and great host. The kayaks and vast backyard and access to the lake was a game changer. Would definitely come back!

Paul & Patti made a special occasion that much more memorable. Our trip was made even better because of their recommendations and local knowledge and genuine care. The kinds of folks you root for in life. The views are stunning. Spend time on the deck as well. Oh, and breakfast was an incredible experience that showcased Chef Garrin’s talents and joy of hospitality.

We had a great stay at Sammi’s place! The home was clean, cozy, anduser friendly. The bed was comfortable, and we appreciated the thoughtful touches like fresh towels, coffee, and local recommendations. The location was nice and quiet—close to restaurants and grocery stores. We even had a nice surprise of seeing two deer in the front and back yard. Sammi was very responsive and made check-in and check-out super easy. The only thing to note is that there wasn’t a TV in the living room, which would’ve been nice for relaxing in the evenings. Not a dealbreaker, but worth mentioning. We used our iPad to watch TV as we don't like to watch TV in bed (our preference) so no big deal. Excellent High-speed WiFi. Close to the highway and downtown Halifax. Overall, a wonderful stay. We’d happily come back when we are in Halifax again and recommend it to others!

Thank you for a wonderful stay! It was the ideal spot for a peaceful and relaxing visit, right on the bay! Our favourite part of the day was late afternoon, sitting on the deck with a glass of wine and watching the sailboats return. The accommodation had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We appreciated the washing machine and dryer, and the bbq - it really made us feel at home. The only thing I missed was having cable or a radio to catch up on news - but then again, sometimes it is good to disconnect from the world. We highly recommend this vacation spot to anyone looking to visit the South Shores area (Chester / Mahone Bay).

A great home in an absolutely beautiful area of Halifax. The family loved the spacious accommodations and the beautiful outdoor seating areas overlooking the water and Yacht Club. Would definitely stay here again. Hosts were quick to respond with any questions we had.

Perfect location, a short walk to all amenities and sights. The studio apartment was beautiful with a great view! Tim and Ashley were very responsive and helpful. Will be back :)
