Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Halifax

Zahra’s place is super comfortable and in a lovely location. We enjoyed our stay!

We enjoyed staying at Robert's fabulously decorated home. It is a unique home in a beautiful setting; it's not often we get to stay in a home with exotic birds, friendly ducks, and a dinosaur room. And Robert is an excellent host. It's a great location for seeing the area - many attractions within a 1-2 hour drive. We would stay here again if our travels bring us back to Nova Scotia.

Randy’s property is absolutely stunning and super private. It had everything I needed to get away from the hustle and bustle of my crazy life. He brought fresh firewood over and showed me how to use the fireplace. The added touches of his beautifully designed furniture and decor just made the whole home feel so cozy and unique. I love that he displayed some beautiful art from local artists as well. I made good use of the sauna and hot tub. Everything was immaculate and clean. I would highly suggest booking Randy’s spot - if you can find an opening in their very busy calendar! One thing to note is that it is not close to restaurants but that did not bother me as I brought my own food and had the option to cook, which I prefer! There’s also filtered water for drinking in the kitchen. Such an elevated but also rustic home away from home.

We had a wonderful stay at this property - 8 family members on a girls weekend! The house was beautiful, better than the pictures. The kitchen/living room/dining room space was ideal for games, cooking and lots of fun. Everything was so clean and ready to use. Kim was super responsive with any questions I had and everything was really smooth. I would stay here again! It's useful to note for prospective guests - there is a 1-bedroom guesthouse directly behind the main house which does lie between the house and the yard/view, so it didn't feel quite as private as I thought it would be. But - we were there on a rainy weekend, so our group and the guesthouse renters stayed inside all weekend and it was like they weren't even there! I would suggest if you are renting this space for outdoor space, it might not suit those needs. Overall a lovely place to stay and we had a fabulous weekend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mary's place. It had everything we needed, including a nice big kitchen with a lovely view; it felt like I was cooking in a treehouse :-) Mary was very easy to communicate with. We would be happy to stay here again.

Coburn, I must say you and your family have put in a tremendous amount of work to create a space for yourselves and your guests. It felt like home, everything was well appointed and we didn’t lack for anything. Lots of style right down to your lovely collections, original wood beams with modern amenities. We enjoyed after our daily adventures coming home to deer grazing in the meadow or the resident mamma and baby porcupines. If we know of anyone travelling your way, we will suggest they check out Hubbards as place to stay. Thank you for the experience.

We had a wonderful stay at Jennifer’s home. Was for sure in the top 5% of all the airbnbs we’ve stayed in. The home was impeccably clean, well decorated and felt like the perfect restful getaway for my family. The place exceeded our expectations. Jennifer was a wonderful host and included tons of local restaurants and places to explore. My toddler loved playing with the legos and coloring supplies. It was so spacious for her to run around. Long Lake was a convenient walk and was such a treat for her to see ducks and play in the water. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Location is everything! This property is located in a peaceful and picturesque setting, a mere steps from the famous lighthouse. House was spacious and comfortable, we enjoyed our stay.

Was exactly what we wanted, outside of the hub bub but close enough to the city to do everything we wanted to do.

The place was comfortable and good value for money. Peaceful neighborhood away from the busy Halifax area. It had the necessary amenities and Barry was very accommodating and friendly.

Victoria has created such a cozy and welcoming space with an absolutely gorgeous view. Everything is spotless and pristine, the bed was super comfortable, and she has provided all you need for a home away from home. We enjoyed meeting her very sociable chickens and were able to truly relax in between our runs into Halifax for fabulous food, and a quick trip to Peggy’s Cove. Although our stay was brief, we had a simply marvelous time. Thank you so much, Victoria!

We stayed for 6 months and it was absolutely wonderful! There were lots of beaches and trails nearby to take our dog. The views were amazing! We even saw a seal once! The apartment was beautiful as well, especially the kitchen (as someone who loves to cook and bake it was perfect!) It's the perfect distance from Halifax if you don't like the bustle of a city but still want to do some sightseeing if you don't mind driving a bit! Overall we loved every part of our stay :)

We had a great stay. The place was very clean and well kept. It was a comfortable and quiet spot to come back to after exploring the city. The host was responsive, making everything smooth and easy. Having a hot tub was a real bonus— it was the perfect way to relax in the evenings. Would definitely stay here again!

We had such a wonderful stay. The property is so beautifully landscaped by Bruce and Leesa. You can see the love and care they put into it. The inside was no exception. It felt warm and inviting. We had such a lovely stay at Jillian’s place. It was the perfect space for two—clean, cozy, and thoughtfully set up with everything we needed. You can tell Jillian puts care into making guests feel at home. The location truly can’t be beat—everything is within walking distance, which made exploring the area so easy and enjoyable. Whether we were grabbing coffee, going out for dinner, or just wandering around, we loved how convenient and central it was. Spent a wonderful weekend with friends for a 60th birthday celebration. This place was amazingly beautiful, spacious, and appointed with many fine touches, from decor to fully equipped kitchen, to high quality beds and linens. We didn’t want for anything while here! We relaxed by the fire, indoors and out, played some lively games of pool in the top floor games rooms, and dined like royalty while gazing at Tancook Island peeking in and out of the fog. The location is absolutely beautiful and more spacious than the photos show. We enjoyed watching the wildlife and rolling fog from the bright open windows throughout the house. The host is very excited to share the experience with guests by providing kayaks and local food/ activity recommendations. The property is well looked after by a neighbor / property manager who has great recommendations as well! The property is remote but still within reasonable driving distance of Halifax and other tourist destinations. We recommend you get groceries on your way in though as there are limited grocery options in immediate area. Farmers markets are easily found and have best of NS. Highly recommend for a beautiful and relaxing vacation!

Jordan's villa was absolutely stunning. The expansive space had beautiful rooms, and surpassed all expectations. The photos depicted a lovely spot but it was even more incredible in person. Is is beautifully decorated, absolutely immaculate and had every possible amenity one could think of. It was a wonderful stay for us and I highly recommend a visit! It could not have been any more perfect!

It was an interesting stay for the host and for our group. First, I got a message that the air conditioning had failed the day before we arrived and the repair people were not available until after our stay. So the hosts put fans in all of the rooms! Then the hurricane came and it was not safe to stay. We left the day the hosts were coming to secure the house for the storm. And they initiated a refund for the days we could not stay! You can’t ask for more from hosts! The house is lovely and a great place to stay!
