Charming, loch-side cottage

Loved our stay in Balallan. The house is perfectly located for exploring both Lewis and Harris. The swing seat overlooking the loch was a highlight of our stay. Many thanks also for the lovely welcome gifts too. Much appreciated.

Airigh nam Fiadh

We had a truly wonderful stay at Ann’s place—five stars all around! Ann went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, even making sure the couch bed was all set up for our two children since we were arriving later in the evening. We were especially touched by the thoughtful welcome provisions—fresh local meats, breads, desserts and milk—all absolutely delicious. Both the main bed and the couch bed were incredibly comfortable, with warm, cozy linens that made us feel right at home. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook meals, and clean-up was quick and easy. Instructions for using the house and checking in and out were clear and straightforward, making the whole experience stress-free. Ann was extremely accommodating, and the little cabin is perched higher up in a peaceful, scenic spot surrounded by lovely pastures. The kids and I especially enjoyed watching the sheep in the nearby fields. We highly recommend staying here and would love to come back!
A cozy living area is highlighted by a teal sofa adorned with patterned cushions. A wooden beam stretches across the ceiling, enhancing the space. A bright bouquet of yellow flowers rests on a white cabinet, while a lantern pendant light adds warmth to the ambiance.

Taigh Chalum, Achmore, Isle of Lewis

Lovely welcome pack of a complete G&T kit. Easy to find the location with Christine's instructions, to be honest as soon as you turn a bend on the main road you see the cottage standing proud on the hill. We had excellent communication and the recommendations for places to visit and eat are perfect. Crusts Pizza van is minutes from the location order online and collect its amazing, quality food and service. The peace around the cottage is beautiful especially first thing in the morning with the mist over the many lochs in the valley and the deer wandering around. The log burner on a wet and windy day is perfect to sit at the high top table and watch the weather pass by. Uig Sands at 6.30am was deserted, the campers still asleep, the whole beach to ourselves. The drive to Harris is beautiful with a road ascent that's quite exposed in places. Harris distillery worth visiting. On the whole perfect accommodation in the perfect place close to everywhere to visit with a feeling of remoteness

Hebridean Bothy Pods - Bothy Buidhe

This was a delightful place to stay. A romantic and cosy cabin, perfect for two. It was superbly clean and the facilities second to none. Everything needed plus more was there, even some pasta and beans for anyone turning up in need of one meal. The view over the loch and mountains was magnificent. I even saw a red deer jump the fence near the delightful rear garden which was a real sun trap. We loved the seating space by the door which was cosy and in the sun. It was the perfect base to travel around the island and a delight to return to in the evenings. Thanks Innes for making it such a lovely place. Please note that if you use just the post code (as we did) to find the place that is not helpful. Use the instructions provided by Innes

Eagleton Lodge

Peaceful and comfortable but stylish lodge, just a 5 minute walk from the nearby beach. We loved the colour coordinated restful green tones and Wendy's drift wood handles and trimmings. Our welcome gift of bread & flapjack and a window looking on to Wendy's bird feeders made us feel right at home. Definitely worth more than one visit. If we had known about the mobile sauna on the beach ( not there all the time- check Saltbox Sauna for dates & locations) we would have brought our swimming gear. Thankyou, Wendy for a lovely stay.

Taigh Lemon

JayneRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had a brilliant stay at Taigh Lemon. The house was spotless, well appointed and had super comfy beds and bedding. It was also well equipped for small children which was beneficial for us. Our only observation would be that it isn’t immediately obvious on the listing that the house isn’t detached and that the owner’s house is right behind it. This didn’t impact our stay at all, but we were quite surprised that the house wasn’t as standalone as we expected.

Delightful retreat, sea-loch and wilderness views

JaneRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We used the house as a base while walking the Hebridean Way on Harris and Lewis. This worked really well as we had a volunteer driver dropping us off and picking us up each day. The house was a great size for our group of five with plenty of space for everyone (and the dog). There was plentiful hot water and a well appointed kitchen. All the instructions were really clear and Eleanor was great at both responding to our queries and reaching out to make sure we were OK. The surroundings are beautiful and we also loved the horses kept in the paddocks at the rear of the property. Would definitely stay here again.
