The Garden Room

Cozy cabin set amongst coastal forest, nestled amongst the trees overlooking the beautiful garden and Wainui beach. Wake to the rising sun and songs of the birds. It is ONE LARGE ROOM with separate bathroom and a small kitchenette and wrap around deck area. Super king bed can be used as x2 singles. Pull out king single couch bed plus roller bed for a 4th person. Please let me know at time of booking as to bed configuration. NB there are steps down to the accomodation, so heavy bags are not ideal

Make this well fitted 3Bdrm home your hub during your visit to the beautiful East Coast. Large backyard, along with a sunny deck to relax and soak up some sun. On colder nights, make use of the woodfire or aircon and snuggle up indoors (some firewood supplied). Located 5mins out of the Tolaga Bay we have a sunny modern studio room with independent access adjacent to our main farm house. It has a queen sized bed, desk & chairs, modern ensuite bathroom, area for making tea/coffee/toast and a fridge. We are a working farm so plenty going on. Beaches within a minutes drive include - Kaiaua, Tolaga Bay Wharf & Cooks Cove walkway. Plenty of food options nearby or you can head up to Tokomaru Bay to the Te Puka Tavern or get a famous Paua Pie at Cafe35.

Our family of 2 adults and 4 teenagers stayed here after an overnight tramp- Edward’s place was 5 star luxury!! The shower is awesome, there’s a washing machine and dryer, a SMEG dishwasher, SMEG oven and a fridge that makes ice! All the appliances and fittings are high-quality. Everything feels really nice. Lovely beds and linen. Awesome view from the deck. Essentials like oil, vinegar, tea, coffee and coffee plunger are in the well kitted out kitchen. We enjoyed cooking a hearty meal playing cards and watching a movie. It is minutes from Lake Waikaremoana great walk start or finish- perfect location.!

Thank you so much for having us Kauri! We had an awesome stay at the Karstaway. Home was equipped with everything we needed and the outdoor amenities were a real hit! A primo spot along NZ's beautiful Highway 35; we had lots of fun at Oruaiti beach just across the road, explored Lottin Point, got out for a dive with the boat ramp conveniently close by and enjoyed our catch with ocean sunset views. We hope to visit again soon. Ngā mihi nui!!

We had the most wonderful stay at Aisling’s home! The house was perfectly situated, just a stone’s throw from the beach and only a short 6-8 minute drive to Opotiki township. The cleanliness was exceptional, and the house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, making it feel like a true home away from home. The doors and windows leading out to the deck were a highlight, allowing the fresh air to flow through the home. The deck itself was perfect for relaxing, whether it was sipping morning coffee or enjoying dinner with family. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and there was an ample supply of bedding, which added an extra layer of comfort. The entire home exceeded my expectations, and my family thoroughly enjoyed our 2-week stay. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. Highly recommend Aisling’s home – it’s a true gem!
