We had an amazing stay at this Norwegian hytte! The location is breathtakingly beautiful, offering a peaceful and serene atmosphere. The quiet surroundings made for restful nights, with comfortable beds and a hot shower to enjoy after a day of exploring. We loved the wood-fired hot tub, kayak, and fishing gear that added to the fun and unforgettable experience. The kitchen was well-equipped, and there was plenty of space for our luggage. The price was fair, and it's easily the best Airbnb we've ever stayed in. We would definitely book again!

Exceptional place! Alone at the end of the world above the fjord... one of the best views of our stay. A cute cabin built by our host. Very well equipped and very beautifully decorated. Cute, cozy cabin right on a gorgeous lake with a million dollar view. I know it's cliché but, the pictures absolutely do not do justice to what the view is actually like. Just perfect! The cabin is far enough from town to feel remote but close enough to town to take care of any grocery or dining needs.

We were four couples of friends who were on a weekend trip. The cabin was perfect for us. Nice location. It had everything we needed to cook. Nice outdoor area. Would love to come back.

We had a fantastic stay at Oddvar’s beautiful cabin; it had everything we needed and we really appreciated the well-equipped kitchen and laundry room. The views from the hot tub and garden are incredible and very peaceful/private. The cabin was clean, tidy and felt very homely. We would certainly come back and would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the local area, or explore further afield from such a lovely base home. An amazing, peaceful location. As Australians we had no idea how it would be to stay on an island in Norway. After a first day when we learnt it was important to allow time to get around the island to the ferry (thanks to tardy sheep), we enjoyed several days out to sightsee further afield. The house is most ideal for the wonderful views, hikes and peace of the island but, if you're willing to plan carefully, trips into the Sognfjord region are certainly possible. Very cozy and well-equipped apartment. An absolute dream. 😍 The area where the house is located and the house itself is actually so much more impressive than in the photos. Beautiful. 🤩 Perfectly clean - such a clean space is rarely seen. Everything you need for a short or longer stay is there. Very private and peaceful setting. Friendly landlord who provided great information in advance. 😊 Absolutely recommended.

We enjoyed our stay in this adorable cabin. The surrounding nature is beautiful and calm and the cabin has everything needed to make the stay cozy and comfortable.

Maja & Bjørnars cabin in the mountains is amazing! From the terrace you have a beautiful view of the lake & the mountains and inside it is very cozy. The communication with the hosts was good and they had great recommendations for the area! The cabin has everything you need during your stay and we would recommend it to everyone.

Staying right on a fjord was amazing. The views from the house were spectacular. Ferries available to any island in area. I wish I had stayed for a month!

Mountains on three sides and a fjord on the other. If you're looking for solitude at the end of the world, this is it. A piece of advice, it's a single lane road in with blind corners and hills, so be ready to stop on a dime for on coming traffic. Also, the local market will have essentially anything you'd need, but they have eccentric hours so I'd recommend bringing along a day's worth of food to be safe.

The location and the accommodation were great! We were 2 people so we stayed in the annex, which is different than the main bigger accommodation. The view was fantastic and the space was great! Well equipped kitchen and quite spacious!

Roy’s cabin is an endearing home that he has created with a lot of heart. It was a heart-warming experience!

Warm and cozy house, recommend

We had a wonderful experience at this house near the lake. The location is absolutely stunning — nestled in the mountains and surrounded by lush greenery. It’s the perfect peaceful getaway if you love nature and scenic views. The house itself was clean, cozy, and well-equipped for a relaxing stay. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a fantastic place to unwind!

Quiet location on the lake and yet quickly in the next town for shopping or restaurant visits. We spent 2 nights there and got along well without a shower. The living room with the wood stove is especially cozy!

Cozy cabin. Felt right at home. Perfect for a quiet getaway. Plus 15 min by car from a great hike called Lihesten.

Fantastic views over the water. Quiet location. The passing train even became a game for us. Is he coming from the left or from the right? If you need some rest during your vacation, definitely worth a visit. In Stanghelle, there is a nice walk to Dagsturhytta, and in Helle, you can walk to Dale along the water.

Despite the changeable and cool weather, we had four wonderful days at this accommodation. The view of the fjord and the landscape is stunning in almost any weather. The cabin offers every comfort, the underfloor heating is pleasant, and the peace and quiet are wonderful. And you can admire a parade of cruise ships sailing to Flam and back. Communication with our hosts was uncomplicated, quick, and friendly. Balestrand is an ideal starting point for numerous activities, such as a catamaran trip to Flam. Shopping facilities, bike rentals, and an electric car charging station are all available. This house is highly recommended for people who value peace, comfort, and friendly hosts. One more thing seems important to me: you can't drive directly to the house; the short path leads across a sloping meadow. My wife has a slight walking disability, so it worked. For people with more severe mobility restrictions, this may be difficult.

I can only repeat my review of our stay in May 2023: ...it is the best vacation cottage we have discovered so far on our travels. The great location with a magnificent view, a modern, well-equipped kitchen, a great bed and very tasteful furnishings, warm and cozy and everything tiptop clean. I can't say enough about this wonderful place! The pictures are lovely, but pictures just can't capture how beautiful this place is. This was our first trip to Norway and staying in this place was a real highlight. While in Balestrand, we also rented bikes (highly recommended). Terrific host; very communicative and helpful!
