We had an amazing stay at this Norwegian hytte! The location is breathtakingly beautiful, offering a peaceful and serene atmosphere. The quiet surroundings made for restful nights, with comfortable beds and a hot shower to enjoy after a day of exploring. We loved the wood-fired hot tub, kayak, and fishing gear that added to the fun and unforgettable experience. The kitchen was well-equipped, and there was plenty of space for our luggage. The price was fair, and it's easily the best Airbnb we've ever stayed in. We would definitely book again!

Endroit exceptionnel ! Seuls au bout du monde au dessus du fjord... Une des plus belles vues de notre séjour. Une jolie cabane construite par notre hôte. Très bien équipée et très joliment décorée. Mention spéciale aux WC dans une petite cabane indépendante à la vue imprenable sur le fjord :) Les hôtes sont accueillants, gentils et disponibles ! Meilleur hébergement de notre voyage !

Eine tolle Unterkunft und eine großartige Gastgeberin. Die Gegend ist traumhaft und die Lage direkt an der Skipiste waren sehr angenehm. Ich kann mir gut vorstellen noch einmal wiederzukommen.

Cute, cozy cabin right on a gorgeous lake with a million dollar view. I know it's cliché but, the pictures absolutely do not do justice to what the view is actually like. Just perfect! The cabin is far enough from town to feel remote but close enough to town to take care of any grocery or dining needs.

We had a fantastic stay at Oddvar’s beautiful cabin; it had everything we needed and we really appreciated the well-equipped kitchen and laundry room. The views from the hot tub and garden are incredible and very peaceful/private. The cabin was clean, tidy and felt very homely. We would certainly come back and would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the local area, or explore further afield from such a lovely base home. Oddvar is a great host, good communication, responsive and friendly. 10/10 🙌🏻 Thank you!

An amazing, peaceful location. As Australians we had no idea how it would be to stay on an island in Norway. After a first day when we learnt it was important to allow time to get around the island to the ferry (thanks to tardy sheep), we enjoyed several days out to sightsee further afield. The house is most ideal for the wonderful views, hikes and peace of the island but, if you're willing to plan carefully, trips into the Sognfjord region are certainly possible. Sehr gemütliche und toll ausgestattete Ferienwohnung. Ein absoluter Traum. 😍 Die Gegend in der das Haus steht und das Haus selber ist in echt nochmal so viel beeindruckender als auf den Fotos. Wunderschön. 🤩 Perfekt sauber - so eine saubere Unterkunft sieht man selten. Es ist alles da was man für einen kurzen oder längeren Aufenthalt braucht. Sehr private, ruhige Lage. Freundlicher Vermieter, die im Vorfeld super informiert hat. 😊 absolute Empfehlung.

Loved my stay at this accommodation, beautiful surroundings and was so relaxing. House felt like such a home and we were provided so many great recommendations for what to do during our stay. The host was very helpful and friendly, and she would always reply within minutes to any queries we had.

Staying right on a fjord was amazing. The views from the house were spectacular. Ferries available to any island in area. I wish I had stayed for a month!

Mountains on three sides and a fjord on the other. If you're looking for solitude at the end of the world, this is it. A piece of advice, it's a single lane road in with blind corners and hills, so be ready to stop on a dime for on coming traffic. Also, the local market will have essentially anything you'd need, but they have eccentric hours so I'd recommend bringing along a day's worth of food to be safe.

The location and the accommodation were great! We were 2 people so we stayed in the annex, which is different than the main bigger accommodation. The view was fantastic and the space was great! Well equipped kitchen and quite spacious!

Wir haben diese wunderbare Hütte zum zweiten Mal gebucht, da wir uns schon das erste Mal sehr wohlgefühlt haben. Dieses Haus ist einfach der Wahnsinn, es ist sehr viel mit Liebe selbstgemacht. Man erkennt sofort, dass dort viele fleißige Arbeitsstunden vergangen sind und immer wieder neue dazukommen. Zuletzt waren wir im August 2024 dort und es hat sich wieder einiges getan und verändert. In diesem wunderbaren Haus kann man richtig zur Ruhe kommen und den stressigen Alltag hinter sich lassen. Auch unser Hund konnte sich dort richtig erholen. Leider mussten wir aus gesundheitlichen Gründen unsere Reise in Norwegen abbrechen und Roy Egil und Maya haben sehr herzlichst darauf reagiert und uns auch Hilfe angeboten. Das wissen wir sehr zu schätzen. Wir konnten ohne Probleme die Länge des Aufenthalts in Absprache ändern. Das hat uns sehr geholfen unsere Rückreise zu planen. Wir würden immer wieder in dieses wunderbare und einzigartige Haus zurück kommen. Vielen lieben Dank für alles!!!!!

Wir waren 3 Nächte in dieser Hütte. Es ist alles vorhanden, was man benötigt. Sehr gut ausgestattet und sauber. Alles perfekt…wir kommen wieder.

We had a wonderful experience at this house near the lake. The location is absolutely stunning — nestled in the mountains and surrounded by lush greenery. It’s the perfect peaceful getaway if you love nature and scenic views. The house itself was clean, cozy, and well-equipped for a relaxing stay. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a fantastic place to unwind!

Ruhige Lage am See und trotzdem schnell im nächsten Ort für Einkäufe oder Restaurant Besuche. Wir haben 2 Nächte dort verbracht und kamen in der Zeit gut ohne Dusche zurecht. Besonders gemütlich ist das Wohnzimmer mit den Holz Ofen!

Nydelig sted. Hytten har alt du trenger. Flott utsikt, fredelig. Godt utgangspunkt for turer, ikke for lange kjøreturer unna.

Rent og pent. Nydelig natur og bygd. Hyggelig vert. Pent og velholdt. Kommer gjerne tilbake.

Fantastisch uitzicht over het water. Rustige locatie. De passerende trein werd zelfs een spelletje voor ons. Komt hij van links of van rechts? Als je even rust nodig hebt tijdens je vakantie, zeker het bezoeken waard. In Stanghelle is er een leuke wandeling naar Dagsturhytta en in Helle kan je tot in Dale wandelen langs het water.

Despite the changeable and cool weather, we had four wonderful days at this accommodation. The view of the fjord and the landscape is stunning in almost any weather. The cabin offers every comfort, the underfloor heating is pleasant, and the peace and quiet are wonderful. And you can admire a parade of cruise ships sailing to Flam and back. Communication with our hosts was uncomplicated, quick, and friendly. Balestrand is an ideal starting point for numerous activities, such as a catamaran trip to Flam. Shopping facilities, bike rentals, and an electric car charging station are all available. This house is highly recommended for people who value peace, comfort, and friendly hosts. One more thing seems important to me: you can't drive directly to the house; the short path leads across a sloping meadow. My wife has a slight walking disability, so it worked. For people with more severe mobility restrictions, this may be difficult.

Ich kann meine Bewertung von unserem Aufenthalt im Mai 2023 nur wiederholen: ...es ist die beste Ferienhütte, welche wir bis jetzt auf unseren Reisen entdeckt haben. Die tolle Lage mit einer grandiosen Aussicht, eine moderne, gut ausgestattete Küche, ein klasse Bett und sehr geschmackvolle Einrichtung, warm und gemütlich und alles tiptop sauber. I can't say enough about this wonderful place! The pictures are lovely, but pictures just can't capture how beautiful this place is. This was our first trip to Norway and staying in this place was a real highlight. While in Balestrand, we also rented bikes (highly recommended). Terrific host; very communicative and helpful!
