Old, cozy cottage in the countryside, yet close to everything

Next to Hjälstaviken's nature reserve is this cottage, which is a wing building to Husby-Sjutolft's vicarage. Parts of the house are probably from the 1700s. The house is 60 square meters with two rooms, kitchen, hall and bathroom with shower. You live next door to the host family, but have your own "backside" with a balcony down the afternoon and evening sun and views of the agricultural landscape. In the area, there are nice walking paths and trails around Hjälstaviken, at Ekolsund Castle and in the forests around. Grocery store is within 10 km.

The villa is located 4 km from Storsjöns pearl, Årsunda Strandbad. 30 minutes' drive from Kungsberget Ski resort and 20 minutes from popular Högbo Bruk. Currently, there is only access to the lake in winter.

Your own private bathroom with shower is not located in the cottage. it is 10 steps away in the basement of our main house. Gammelgården is located in a nice village called Övermyra/Österberg, 2 km east of Storvik. Distance to nearby towns is Sandviken 13 km, Kungsberget 18 km, Gävle 36 km. Bus stop, 4-minute walk. The timber house is in Ottsjö Jämtland and was saved from being torn down when it was moved here. The interior design is unique with Swedish historical furniture and objects. The cottage is located on the outskirts of a village where the forest begins, and a river flows next to the cottage. There is a cozy barbecue area where you can cook food over an open fire, or just enjoy the fire. 4 km to the nearest store and 10 km into the town of Sandviken. Nice berries and mushroom places nearby. There is a small forest lake 30 minutes walk from the cabin.

The cottage (‘härbre’ in Swedish) is one of several small outbuildings in a picturesque setting. The building is from the 19th century. The lower floor has been carefully renovated using traditional building preservation methods. There is a kitchenette with cold water, a fridge and a hob. The outdoor toilet is just a few steps away.
