Cottage vacation rentals in Gairloch

Another long stay at Forge End has come to an end for my self and work colleague. Again a big thank you to Alea for accommodating us and looking after us over the past 13 weeks and during the booking process. Forge End has been a real home from home for us and has made a long period working away from home a really enjoyable. Your home in Applecross is real find for us and if/when we are required to visit Applecross you will be our first choice every time. Thank you again from both of us.

Absolutely fantastic location, with fantastic scenery nearby. Had some wonderful walks, literally behind the property. The BBQ area was fantastic like the hot tub. I can’t say much more, but I will be looking to return ASAP Matthew is a fantastic host and nothing seems to be too much of a problem. Loved the place, oh and the Highland cows are awesome.

We had an amazing couple of days in this awesome Airbnb. Michelle gave us a warm welcome, when we arrived. The house is a perfect place to explore the Isle of Skye and relax in the hut tub in the evening and enjoy the sea view. We would have wished to stay longer and will definitely be back. One hundred percent recommended.

Great location with fantastic views. The hot tub was easy to use and very nice after a long day of hiking. Beds were comfortable. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating.

The house was wonderful - we were delighted with both the location and with the property. The house was immaculate, and beautifully furnished with some really lovely pictures and objects throughout. The rooms were all good-sized and bright with the kitchen/dining area overlooking the garden a real standout. It was very well maintained and it felt like a proper home from home. The location was really lovely too - nice and quiet with a very short walk to the beach. We particularly enjoyed our walks around the area and along to Chanonry Point to look for the dolphins. A local pub and a lovely restaurant were close by too which was a bonus! Our host, Eva, provided us with clear and concise information prior to our arrival and messaged us a couple of times during our stay to make sure that all was in order. This was very much appreciated. We would not hesitate to recommend the property to others, and we certainly plan to visit again!

Wow!! What a beautiful spot! Betty’s lookout was perfectly outfitted for our party of three and we enjoyed both the cabin, the hot tub, the wood burning stove and the views!!! We were so lucky to get the pleasure of the incredible food, service and ambience of Monkstadt 1745 for dinner while there. Making our bucket list trip to Scotland and Isle of Skye so very special. Thank you for an incredible experience.

Lovely place , super clean with everything you would ever need for a short/long stay .super responsive when messaged too ! What a great place ! Only issue is parking on and off the drive can be super tight due to the neighbours parking outside the drive other than that what a place !

Words cannot do justice to this amazing property; it has to be experienced to be believed. Terrific view of the bay just steps out the back door, yet near the center of town. Extremely quiet. Spacious. Comfortable. Fantastic master bath and bedroom, with two tubs, two sinks, and a wonderful shower. An office for work or reading. Powder room and storage room. Good washer and dryer. A good kitchen and dining area. Comfortable sitting room with a telescope for viewing the bay and its ptarmigan inhabitants. Great tv and internet. Separate sauna building with a view of the bay. Amenities galore, including boots for walking on the beach, And the most thoughtful attention to details that you'll ever encounter. Also, the hosts are extremely generous. It's simply lovable.

great stay at obbe view! gorgeous views and an easy to find location with plenty of space and kitchen amenities. if you are staying in the summer, recommend an eye mask to block out the long hours of sunlight! enjoyed the skylights in the bedrooms for natural lighting. thanks for a great stay.

Great host and loved the location and accommodation. Garden was great for the dogs and chilling with a beer and beautiful beach 5 minutes across the road. Locals and neighbours were very friendly Travelled to John ‘Groats, The Black Isle and Nairn during our stay. Highly recommend as either a base for touring or just a peaceful break in beautiful unspoilt surroundings.

The place was very quite and peaceful. The house was well maintained with all kitchen and bathroom facilities. There is private car parking enough for at least 2-3 cars. There is one queen bed in ground floor and 2 single beds on the another upper stairs bedroom. We loved it and highly recommended for those who need peacetime.

We had a wonderful stay in this lovely cottage. It has everything we needed with very comfortable beds. Lots to see and do in the area. Would highly recommend a stay in this cottage.

Alistairs cottage was brilliant, a perfect place to retreat to after a day of exploring Skye. It had everything we needed for 2 adults and 2 teens and we felt right at home.

This is a very comfortable, clean, homely place. It is airy but cosy. Lovely, roomy bedrooms with very comfortable beds and pristine bedding. Close to everything in Cromarty. A really relaxing home from home. Thank you Veronica, for a wonderful weekend

We had a wonderful stay, the cottage is gorgeous and cosy - we felt so at home! Everything was pristine and excellently equipped. The location is remote with beautiful views of the surrounding fields and hills, and allows you to completely switch off. We loved every moment, already scheduling in a return :)

we have been to plockton 3 times and Catherine's property has the most stunning view although a bit of a walk to the main village it is worth it just for the view. we just parked at the railway station when taking our greyhound as he hs arthritis and walked down from there. lambs at the bottom of the garden and a deer in the next field grazing and to top it off one of the local cows who roam free took a liking to greyhounds and joined us on our walk near the cottage. just a beautiful spot and plockton never disappoints us. we will be back. gorgeous weather. even got out in our canoe. 😀

The storehouse was absolutely beautiful and we enjoyed our stay immensely. It is located in a beautiful area and there were sweet sheep we could watch right outside on the back patio or from the windows every morning. They even had a small lamb that was being bottle fed and Emma allowed my youngest daughter to feed it after we arrived. The kitchen was well stocked and there were instructions and phone numbers for the local places to eat or grocery options near by. The home was very well cared for and immaculately clean. We had a wonderful time.

We absolutely loved Julie and Kenny's cottage. It was very clean and exactly what we had hoped, based upon the listing. We knew we would arrive late, but ended up getting there after midnight. Kenny made it easy to get into the cottage. We loved being a little remote. This was perfect. Just far enough out without making it difficult to get back to a restaurant or grocery store. It was the perfect home base for everything we did on Skye. The only difficulty we had was locating the cottage upon our arrival in the dark. We couldn't see the cottage from the road. In daylight, it wouldn't be a problem. We were greeted each day by various farm animals. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook breakfasts and dinners. We used the washer and dryer while we were there. The shower was wonderful. We enjoyed getting to know Kenny, and he was quick to respond to an issue we encountered with the TV. We only wished we could bring the cottage with us for the rest of our trip.

There is not enough space in this box for me to express how lovely Fiona and her cottage are! Everything is exactly as pictured (actually even more beautiful than pictured) and Fiona is lovely, incredibly responsive to any messages and happy to go above and beyond for any questions that I had. Everything in the cottage is clearly labeled with helpful instructions for use, and Fiona reviewed everything with me at check-in as well. I was traveling alone, and she checked in with me several times to make sure I was comfortable and ensure that everything was going well. A minor repair was needed while I was there and Fiona's husband quickly addressed it and was very considerate with ensuring the repair was done at a time that I would be out. The surroundings are peaceful and incredibly beautiful. I will absolutely be back!

We thought the cottage was absolutely charming, comfortable and attractively furnished and the views were stunning. Carbost is a lovely village and the people in the shop and the Post Office were really friendly and helpful. We did have a bit of trouble with the lock on the front door but some WD40 would probably fix that and it certainly did not spoil our overall enjoyment. Would definitely Red Mountain Cottage

We love The Old Byre! It is our second trip to Scotland from the US, and we made it a point to stay in The Old Byre again because we love it so much! Anne is incredibly generous, leaves a great, stocked kitchen, and always a warm welcome with a little gift or note. The cottage is so homey and peaceful, we never want to leave and are always sad to go! Thanks for another wonderful stay, Anne!

Lovely place, with lovely hosts. We only regretted having to leave too early for our next destination ☺️ Ian and Linda are extremely nice. Very flexible. The place was super comfortable and clean. It invites to stay longer and enjoy more. The garden in the front of the loch was beautiful 😍 They provided us with nice local recommendations ☺️

Lovely stay at The Croft at Urqhuart B and B. Simon and Annie are great hosts who provide a lovely place to stay. Loved the bath after a big day of hiking near Beauly and Fort Augustus. Their hiking suggestions were also very helpful. Only suggestion for improvement is the need for block out curtains in the bedroom, as in June it is pretty much light all day and night.

we arrived at the cottage a little later than check in. The first thing that stood out for us was just how cozy the place was as the photos do not do it justice. Seonaid was communicative throughout our stay however we unfortunately never got the chance to meet her as we were out and about enjoying the amazing surroundings the area has to offer. The cottage is in an ideal location for exploring the whole of Ardnamurchan. we enjoyed our evening's relaxing by the fire for there was plenty of fuel available on site at no extra cost. The bed was very comfy and the kitchen area is well equipped to cook. Perfect for for self catering as food and restaurant's are limited in this area. however can be found if you are willing to travel. Near to the cottage is the river Shiel ..... There is a bench just a five minute walk away where you can sit and enjoy the sounds of nature. we will hopefully return in the future.
