The place very convenient for tourists. Everything is there . Accessible to tourist spots ( walking ,train stations, buses). Will surely get back to this place .

Staying at the Gion house was an absolute treat. It was the best airbnbs we have stayed in. Curtis and staff were extremely helpful and friendly. They gave excellent recommendations and were very responsive to any questions we had. The atmosphere was beautiful and we appreciated the attention to detail of the historic home. We would highly recommend staying here and we would definitely return!

April and her husband were incredibly kind and helpful. Their place is very nice with n unbeatable location. I would definitely recommend it!

The apartment is in a quiet neighborhood, yet it is close to some very interesting places to visit. Kaz is very responsive and friendly. The apartment is a little small but given the location and price, I think it is good value for money. The apartment comes with all the amenities a traveller would need. Overall, a great place to stay a little away from the busy downtown.

This is a charming place in Kyoto. So many wonderful places walking distance. The unit was spacious, spotless, and traditional. We felt very safe and comfortable. I highly recommend coming here if you visit Kyoto.

Everything was amazing! So worth it for our stay~ we loved the area so much, and it is so close to the train stations when getting by~ the host was awesome especially with responding. The place is very close to a nursery indeed, so children can be heard in the mornings, but we did not find this an issue as we were up early and going around the area~ We very much enjoyed our stay and most definitely recommend it to everyone !!

Absolutely love the place! It is very homey and walkable distance to the train stations, making it really convenient to travel around. There’s Lawson just around the corner too. Room is very clean and well-furnished. Decoration is simply and beautiful. Will definitely stay here again the next time I visit Kyoto!! Thank you for the great stay!! Only downside is there’s no elevator in the property, but makes a good workout 😂😂

Charming place next to the railway station. Would love to go back.

This is a great apartment in a great location. It was clean and had enough kitchen tools for simple meal preparation. The only slight problem is that the staircase is too narrow. I had a small suitcase but I imagine it could be difficult for people with larger suitcases. All in all, %100 recommended.

We enjoyed our stay in the impeccably maintained apartment on two levels. Location is pretty good about 10 minutes away from the train station, south. Lots of good buses nearby. Bus system in Kyoto works great and is easy to use. No western style chairs or sofa, so be prepared to sink to the ground after a day of exploring Kyoto.

I stayed at Obataya for three weeks, and it was an absolutely exceptional experience. The home was immaculately clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the location was perfect—peaceful and quiet, yet conveniently connected to Kyoto’s historic sites by public transport. What truly made my stay unforgettable was Yoko-san, the host. She is warm, thoughtful, and incredibly kind—a true superhost who goes above and beyond for her guests. Thank you, Yoko-san, for your hospitality. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend Obataya to anyone visiting Kyoto.

It is very convenient, Tofukuji station can take Keihan and jr tram, the main bus can also reach it, it is convenient to go to various attractions in Kyoto and nearby cities

We enjoyed our stay, a quiet and convenient little room - traditional Japanese style. The host was friendly and very communicative, we had no troubles whatsoever.

This is a great place to stay while visiting Kyoto. It’s very close to a popular bus stop and not too far from Kyoto Station. Seizai’s instruction booklet was very clear and gave lots of great information about both the bnb and the neighborhood. The only issue is that the bunk bed ladder does not attach to the bed well, so be careful when climbing up and down. Otherwise everything is great and clean and it’s a nice space. Highly recommend!

Clean and comfortable, plenty of space for luggage. It's a short walk from Kyoto station, and you're near many bus stops, so it's easy to reach tourist spots. Would recommend :)

Absolutely loved our stay here! The place was spotless, with both indoor and outdoor bathtubs that made for a truly relaxing experience. It’s incredibly cozy and well-designed, with a perfect location—just a short walk to the subway and the river. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Kyoto!

We stayed at four airBnb‘s in Japan and all have their good points, but this was by far the best. Located in a quiet suburb so not walking distance to the main sites of Kyoto, but with some lovely sites that we would not have seen otherwise Close by. It was as simple Uber ride or train ride to get into Kyoto for main sightseeing and it was lovely to come home to a quiet un bustling local with a wide choice of excellent restaurants to choose among. The apartment itself is spacious, by far the most spacious we stayed in And it’s part of a an apartment complex which has a small gym. Nori and Fumi even served us breakfast all three days we were there in another upstairs breakfast room. To top it off, they picked this up and dropped us off at this train station three days later. All in all it was a really welcoming and comfortable place to stay, well worth the price we paid

Place was amazing and more spacious than we expected. Had a comfortable 3 nights here. Short walk from Nijo Station which was good, even though we walked most of the time to save money. Walkable distance from the main shopping streets and attractions.

The location is excellent, it is very easy to get to the points of interest in Kyoto easily.

It is perfect for long stay! If you are a digital nomad, this is the place. It felt like home, the apartment has everything for a long stay, it is comfy, organized, clean and has enough tools for cooking. The neighborhood is lovely, very calm to relax and have a local experience in Japan. The only thing is that everything is far, 16 min walking to the subway station and 10 minutes to the supermarket/family mart. 1 hour by subway to downtown in Osaka or Kyoto/Nara. But for long stay this is not a problem once you have time to enjoy the city and the local neighborhood. Also in sakura season, the park in front of the apartment looks beautiful! There is a laundry room at the building so it is very easy to wash your clothes. Masako was very responsive and helpful all the time. I would definetly come back!

The location is great and the place was clean and comfortable. The only minor point is the fact that the entrance door and the toilet door of the bedroom on the 4th floor is a bit low, hence tall people like me might hit their head more than once...
