The community, then called Camp Gordon Johnston, was set near the beautiful beaches of the gulf coast, and St George Island, for easy access during training for the D-Day invasion! It is situated conveniently between the fresh, upscale town of Appalachacola, and the scenic state parks of Wakula Springs. Lanark is a beautiful place to stay to explore the history and breathtaking beaches of the Forgotten Coast!

The Gallery is the front unit and commonly referred to as "glamping." The 120 year old room can smell musty and the sewer line is affected by the tides. These issues can be remedied by opening the door for a few minutes and flushing the toilet. Slight inconveniences and only occur during longer lapses between guests. Once remedied, they are gone. Also, The Gallery has a half bath and the full bath is in the hall. You can lock both hall doors that lead to the outside. EXTREMELY rustic yet fun!!

The Mahi @ COLE'S LODGE

Great location! Place was incredibly clean. Extra pillows and blankets of good quality. Bed was comfortable with linen that smelled amazing! Kureg and traditional coffee pot. Host was very responsive, polite, and respectful. I have family and friends booking here as well with the same great experience!

We had a wonderful stay at Jamie’s lodge. Jamie gave us a few recommendations on food and local beaches. Don’t forget to visit the local light house.

Suite 2 in the heart of Apalach

Ron was very accommodating and helpful to us and his place was great. Perfect location for being right in the middle of town (and our favorite brewery). I can't recommend his place enough. Clean, comfortable and great location. We will be back

First off, we love St. George so a trip there is always well worth it! The island is perfect if you really want some rest and relaxation, super peaceful and never crowded compared to other beaches. Secondly, Craig is WONDERFUL to work with, he was so helpful, responsive, and proactive about making our stay as easy and smooth as possible. Super thankful for him, and will definitely book with him the next time we come back to SGI!
