Family-friendly vacation rentals in Fox River

This is the 3rd time we’ve stayed at Drake House Properties, and my husband and I love it every single time!! This place was no exception to the others we stayed at the beautiful exposed brick, beautifully decorated, awesome location right in downtown Dubuque! The hot tub is amazing and the coffee shop right downstairs is DELICIOUS. I’m sure we will be back to stay again soon at one of these properties! :) we love the wide variety of things to do in/ and around Dubuque and this place is the BEST place to stay! Thank you so much Jenn for letting us stay at your properties multiple times! :)

Easy check-in and felt right at home. Jennifer was always responsive to messages. She also gave great suggestions for food etc. The house is located perfectly for walking to the beach, market, restaurants, coffee. It is also a great location for quick travels to New Buffalo, Three Oaks, Michigan City and more. We will visit again for sure!

This place was súper clean and beautiful. We were very comfortable and never heard the neighbors downstairs. The only thing that happened was the that the thermostat stopped working and they weren’t able to come and fix it. Then the bathroom switch kept tripping and we had to find the fuse box and various times the light didn’t work. But it was such a nice place and I would totally stay there again. We had a very comfortable experience.

Very peaceful to stay put here--bring what you need and stay in these beautiful surroundings among birds and gardens and an art-filled home. Or spend time on nearby beaches and trails, wander the nearby small-town shops and nice variety of restaurants and look forward to a hot tub soak and campfire. Donna's home is welcoming and inspiring!

We very much enjoyed our stay. The location and view were lovely and quiet. We especially enjoyed the wildlife from the deck and the hot tub! We even had a bald eagle visit for a couple of hours on the sandbar right in front of us. The cottage was very clean and comfortable. A very relaxing weekend!!

I would recommend this place to anyone!!! Truly an above and beyond host and space was clean and inviting! Cannot wait to come back

Debbie was very communicative before and during our stay. The property has plenty of yard room for outdoor activities and we loved that we didn’t feel stacked up against a bunch of other houses. The driveway can accommodate a group of cars and we loved the reclining couch in the basement. I’d highly recommend this property.

Julia’s place was perfect for our family and friends, and Julia was such quick and thoughtful communicator before and during our stay. A great location with a ton to do on the property and nearby.

Absolutely recommend this place! It is warm and cozy, with a massive backyard which was great for our dogs to play in and for us to relax in! It feels very private and has such a unique vibe! Ann was amazing, she was kind, friendly, and gave incredible recommendations! Mason Jar Cafe is a MUST! Highly recommend and hope to return soon!

If you are looking for a beautiful and private and peaceful retreat, look no further! David’s place is all of the above and more! This was our second stay! The little lake ( with boat and kayak) is always fun. The house is spotless and we are welcome with cookies! Thank you so much again!

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home tucked away in a peaceful rural setting. The house was full of charm and character, and the surrounding mature woods made it feel like a true escape. It's conveniently located near Three Oaks and New Buffalo, both of which offered plenty of great activities, dining, and local charm. Our dogs loved the space just as much as we did—especially the nearby dog beach! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing and pet-friendly getaway.

Jamie was a really amazing host! She was friendly, helpful, caring and went over and beyond to make sure me and my kids were comfortable and had everything we need. Gave us lots of great recommendations to restaurants and as a first timer in Chicago she made sure I was aware of the traffic and other helpful information! My kids LOVE her she was vey nice, patient and gentle with them. Kid friendly house/area VERY quiet. The beds are the BEST after a long day of traveling very comfortable. The place was beautiful very nice decor and nicely maintained. We will definitely be staying here on our next visit to Chicago.

What a terrific space! A whole little house to myself and my newly rescued shelter dog. The house had everything needed, lovingly decorated, and on the most quiet peaceful street. Sue was quick to respond to questions and also very proactive with information. It was a short but great stay for me as I got in at midnight and had to leave at 8am. Sue was very flexible with my arrival as I was driving 700 miles to get there and not sure if exact arrival time.

My husband, two dogs and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cabin! The point of my vacation was going somewhere we could take our dogs and this was the perfect spot to relax with them for a few days. Everything was clean and there was a perfect amount of space for us to relax. It was very quiet in the neighborhood and most of the time it felt like we were the only ones around. It was great to be able to walk to a very nice restaurant and bar a minute or two down from the cabin since we wanted to stay close. The only thing that bummed me out was we went at the end of May and the dock wasn’t put out - and I was hoping to spend time sitting out on the water. That could have been me not realizing the typical “season” but had assumed it’d be out so I recommend checking if that’s important to you :)

As soon as we walked in, the house felt like home. The house was very clean as well as towels and linens. Being the house was built long ago, it had charming features. We had a rainy day and had a blast staying in and playing ping pong and air hockey! Elaine was a great host. We ate at Fire on Fifth and Jorge’s Margaritas & grill. Thoroughly enjoyed both restaurants. Thank you Elaine!

The hideaway in albany wi was lovely and i will keep it in mind when i need to return to albany.

My girlfriends and I had a great stay! Ann’s place was peaceful and beautiful. We enjoyed relaxing outside, watching the animals and soaking in the hot tub. We will definitely be back!

This is our 3rd year in a row to come for an extended Labor Day weekend and bring our kids and/or grandkids. We love the setting. The pool is perfect for the younger kids and the adults appreciate the beauty of all the surroundings, including at poolside. If we could change anything at all we would add another bedroom as we can't quite get all of our extended family here at one time. That said, we would like to return for a 4th year at Labor Day weekend time next year. The combination of beauty, privacy, amenities, condition (always in great shape!), and proximity to lovely South Haven can hardly be beat!

Really nice apartment in a beautiful location right on the river. So peaceful in the morning. Very easy to find and get into. Exactly as described. Coffee pot with coffee bags, sugar and creamer including microwave popcorn and chocolate biscuits. Nice welcome pack. Lots of cutlery crockery and pans but didn’t see any oil or condiments. If you are going to cook you’d need to bring some. Had problems with the tv instructions but after contacting Ashley somebody came to the condo within 15 mins and sorted out for us. May need to update instructions or check settings haven’t been touched to save inconvenience. Just to note the smaller bedroom has the boiler in it which is very noisy. We had ear plugs so was ok for us but if you come in the cold weather and need heating you would need to bear in mind. Overall a lovely stay in a quiet area of town within a short walk to all amenities. Would recommend.

Great location for a short getaway (1-2 days). The best part was being right on the lake and having great views right outside the window.

This was our first vacation as a family with a 5 and 3 year old. Our neighbors were lovely. The beach was a great addition. The place was pristine and exactly enough for us. Perfect location close to everything and the communication leading up to the vacation was top notch. We had chilly weather but the vacation was just what we needed. Amazing view and super relaxing (even with the kids!) will definitely come back!

Tom and Charyl were amazing hosts ! We had open communication throughout our stay and even got a tour upon our arrival. The airbnb was everything as described and more ! The pool was incredible and the airbnb was only a 5 minute drive to the nearest beach. They even had a binder of recommendations available to us of local attractions/things to do. Our expectations were exceeded for this trip, and we can’t wait to come back !
