Historic Railroad Caboose - Unique CT Farm Escape

This was an amazing place to stay with my three year old! Laurie’s husband came out to show us around the place and my son grabbed his hand right away and was so excited! They had teddy bears and books set up for him and he loved every minute of it! When we woke up the next morning he said “I don’t wanna leave this place!” 10/10 recommend to anyone looking for a cozy getaway!

We had a wonderful stay. The place was private, quiet and the property was beautiful. The house was clean and extremely well stocked. We could have arrive with nothing but clothes and been fine. Carol and Vin made great restaurant recommendations. There were may great restaurants in this area. Carol and Vin were kind, responsive and helpful. We would be happy to return.

We really enjoyed our stay at Paul’s place! The house was exactly as described. I chose this house because it is dog friendly, but especially because of the huge yard out back! My dog is very active so the yard was a huge plus for us! This house was also perfect for our budget which can be hard to find when bringing a dog along! I would definitely recommend Paul’s place. Lucky’s Bar and Pizza was great as well and we loved that it was within walking distance. I also recommend going to Shady Acres Diner which is just two minutes down the road and definitely a hidden gem! We will definitely stay at Paul’s again if we are in the area!

The Barn at Pondview

Val was incredibly responsive and helpful as a host. She even went above and beyond to help us try to locate something we thought we left behind. The space exceeded our expectations. It was beautifully decorated and was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The game room was amazing although we barely had time to enjoy it. This is a great space for a group looking for comfort and a lot of area to spread out and enjoy the many games, a huge deck, a beautiful open concept living and kitchen area. We would love to return for a future stay.

Jose is a cool host. Respectful of my privacy and clearly cares about my comfort and making sure I feel at home. He even left some eggs from his chicken coop, and gave me a plate one night during his family cookout. The home is great quality, spacious and just right. The backyard is amazingly beautiful and peaceful. Pictures and descriptions are accurate. Jose responded to my messages and addressed any questions or concerns within 5-30 minutes at most. I’d give more than 5 stars if I could!
