Our spacious and beautifully restored medieval house and large private garden is within the walls of the serene and picturesque heritage-listed village of Flavigny-sur-Ozerain, where the film "Chocolat" was filmed. From here you can explore wineries, beautiful villages and peaceful countryside, chateaux, abbayes and museums. You can even hop on the train to Paris or explore the towns of Dijon or Beaune, the wine capital of Burgundy. The house has a beautiful character and ambiance. It is suited for couples and families.

The owners, Bill and Jenny Higgs live next door - very discreet but always on hand to help.

The house is an old tower built on 3 levels. The lower level is the double bedroom with ensuite shower and toilet, it has french doors that open out onto the lower decking terrace. The middle level is the kitchen, dining sitting area with wood burning stove and flat screen tv and there is an oak staircase that leads to the upper twin bedroom with seperate toilet and basin. We had a wonderful family weekend in this beautiful accommodation, very clean and peaceful (the neighborhood is also very friendly). The house is well-equipped, and nicely decorated, suitable for large families. The garden is large and pleasant for lunch in the sun, and the interior also with its 2 living rooms for rainy weather. We particularly enjoyed the proximity to the lake, for swimming and running around Only regret: not renting it for one more night A big thank you to the host who did everything to make this stay go smoothly (very responsive, accommodating for checkout, and spontaneously shared their good addresses & little madeleines) - these are the touches that make the difference

Not many travelers get to say that they’ve stayed in a chateau like Jacques’ in Thenissey. I live in Dijon and used to work in the area so when I found this accommodation to surprise my mom & brother during their visit, we were all overwhelmed with the simple beauty of this chateau and the countryside around it. Jacques is very kind and welcoming. If we needed anything, he was just a phone call away. He offered to show us around his chateau and we regret not finding the time to do so in our plans. The accommodation is modern and up to date with everything you need, including in the kitchen and two bathrooms. A train does by pass by but you will need a car to explore the region. And come already equipped with groceries and a full tank of gas because the closest supermarket is about 15-20min away! We absolutely loved the moats, “feeding” the fish, the staircase into the basement, and even the chateau-smell that makes this experience absolutely worth it during your visit to Burgundy.

Very nice character house in a charming little village! Melanie is very available and responsive. The accommodation is well-equipped and ideal for two families with children. Each has its own bathroom, impeccable linen and lots of toys available for children! No complaints!

We stayed in this beautiful apartment to celebrate the new year, and everything went pleasantly well. Easy check-in, with a responsive and available host. The listing is located in a very clean and pleasant area, rather quiet. Regarding the accommodation, it was really nice, in a modern and classic spirit, with tasteful and comfortable decoration. I highly recommend this host!

At Valerie's, we felt welcome. It was a really good and authentic experience in the apartment in the old 19th century farmhouse. The apartment was spacious and we got our motorcycles parked in the large barn. We hadn't been able to buy groceries and everything was closed because of the holidays - yet Valerie managed to get something delicious for our dinner. A positive experience!
