Family-friendly vacation rentals in Faroe Islands

First trip to Faroe Islands - wonderful welcome from our hosts with plenty of local tips. Great place to stay from which to travel all over the islands. Hot tub well used by us.

Die Unterkunft war das absolute Highlight unseres Aufenthalts auf den Faröern. Es ist wirklich einzigartig schön und die Bilder können die Schönheit der Umgebung gar nicht wiedergeben. Das Haus ist so gemütlich, authentisch und ein Ort, an dem man zur Ruhe kommt und auch direkt wohl fühlt. Leider war bei uns der Whirlpool kaputt, was uns aber rechtzeitig gesagt wurde und wir haben das Angebot bekommen, stattdessen eine Sauna direkt vor das Haus zu bekommen. Das war wirklich so toll! Hans & Bina sind sehr freundlich, super hilfsbereit und antworten sehr schnell :) wir würden allein nur wegen der Unterkunft nochmal wiederkommen. Vielen lieben Dank für diese Möglichkeit. Virkelig hyggeligt hjem med rigtig flot udsigt. Huset indeholdt alt, hvad vi behøvede og mere til. Vi var 10 personer over 3 generationer og der var god plads til alle. Oplysende og opmærksom værtinde.

The view from Steinbjorn’s home is quite possibly the most beautiful vista I have experienced anywhere in the World. They say location is everything, and I don’t believe my experience of the Faroe Islands would have been as good had I stayed anywhere else. The solitude of Elduvík was perfect for my solo mountain biking trip, the pink sunsets at Midnight incredible, and the hot tub after a few hours on the bike the icing on the cake. The lounge and dining room are spacious and well appointed, the kitchen clean and well provisioned. I had the pleasure of meeting Steinbjorn when I arrived at the house. He is a friendly chap and is clearly proud of his home. Communication with him both prior to, and during my trip was superb, lots of recommendations for places to visit, and information regarding the village. Steinbjorn was also very attentive to any queries I had whilst at the house. I could not have hoped for a better experience.

Absolutely gorgeous surroundings. The place was cozy, comfortable and had all the amenities we would have wanted.

Vi tilbragte et døgn i huset og ville ønske at vi havde haft mere tid, det er et virkeligt dejligt hus med smuk udsigt, alt hvad man har brug for. Perfekt sted til både at opleve øen og slappe af hjemme. Fin vandrerute bag huset til Vikarbyrgi. Rigtig god og hjælpsom vært. Stedet får vores allerbedste anbefalinger.

Vi havde nogle dejlige dage i Torshavn i denne bolig. Den ligger meget centralt og med kort gå afstand til centrum og gode busforbindelser. Der er en fantastisk udsigt fra lejligheden ud over Tinganes og havet, men uden at være klods op af industrihavnen. Et rigtig godt sted at bo i Torshavn.

Vi havde et skønt ophold i Gunnvás bolig. Vi følte os virkelig hjemme i de dejlige, kunstneriske omgivelser. Tórshavn centrum var desuden indenfor gåafstand. Vi kommer gerne igen!

It's a really nice house near the harbour. Rustic in the good way. No fancy stuff. But everything you need to cook, relax and slow your life rythm. I felt quickly like at home. It's quite far from the "main" island (the one with torshavn). You will need to take a 2 hours ferry and then drive 10 minutes to get there. But Suduroy really deserve a few days. Nice hikes and beautiful sceneries.

We greatly enjoyed our week's stay in this delightful farm cottage. After each full day's outings, it was wonderful to return to this warm, cozy cottage with its lovely views over the hills. It is described accurately on the website, is very clean and comfortable and the kitchen well-equipped. Its location makes it easy to go anywhere on the islands. Tórður was a most helpful host. We would happily stay here again on a future visit.

Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt. Der Blick auf die Berge und das Meer war toll. Das Haus ist sehr charmant und gemütlich. Die Betten sind bequem und wir haben sehr gut geschlafen.

We stayed in this beautifully developed boathouse for a week. The location in the middle of the Faroe Islands is unbeatable, from here you can explore the whole country by car! It was just super cozy, quiet and relaxing here. The place was exactly as described and everything was very clean and tidy. We were also very happy about the washing machine and dryer, you don't find that everywhere. Communication with the hosts was always very friendly, informative and fast. We highly recommend the accommodation as well as Maria and Pol as hosts and would definitely come again.

Beautiful apartment right in the heart of Torshavn. Walking distance to restaurants, old town, and parliament with views of the marina. Plenty of parking available in the area but not at the apartment itself. There is a narrow staircase up to the third floor which is where you stay. We loved our stay here and would recommend to anyone staying in Torshavn

Great place to stay. It was very comfortable, quiet and well-equipped. The location is good too - the centre of Torshavn is so easy to access quickly by car, there is a good supermarket nearby and some good takeaway food places too. Hilary is a good host, taking care to provide a really good experience and to communicate well.

The cottage is in a beautiful location and was a very comfortable stay. Tjornuvik is a great base for exploring the islands.

We had a wonderful stay! Sunneva greeted us welcomingly with fresh homemade bread, jam, and coffee. She was always friendly, helpful, communicative, and overall, a wonderful host. We felt right at home in this Airbnb, and Sunneva's hospitality really stood out in comparison to other Airbnbs I stayed in. She even showed us where we could swim in the ocean! Highly recommend this place :)

Magnificent home right in key bit of Torshavn - lovely traditional house overlooking the main harbour. Minutes to walk to best coffee shop and restaurants- parking nearby works well. There couldn’t be a better place to stay in the Faroe Islands, we can’t recommend it enough. Additionally Marna and Matras tipped us off about the imminent arrival of the king and queen’s first royal visit to Torshavn and they parked their yacht right in front of the house. We felt very privileged to be staying in the best place. Lovely house and hosts
