Kristen was a fantastic host! I booked a year in advance, and she was very helpful from start to finish. The stay was perfect for our out-of-town guest! Location, cleanliness and great communication was top notch!

We were looking for a cabin, hoping to find a quiet place to rest, relax and recharge in nature. We never dreamed that we would find an authentic 18th century cabin located in the forest on a mountain top - with an excellent view of the surrounding mountains. The inside of the cabin was beautifully furnished as would be expected in colonial Virginia. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend the experience of stepping back in time.

Place was as described very private and secluded. We really enjoyed it, we came with the dog the one thing to note it is in the woods so there were a lot of ticks but other than that it was very pleasant stay.

We had a wonderful time with friends at Candice's place. The pool and hot tub were such a nice touch. We decided to not go out and instead have a cookout on the charcoal grill on Saturday. We could not have enjoyed our time more. The place was spotless and extremely peaceful. Candice gave great suggestions and was responsive.

The home is lovely. The kitchen is well-appointed for making meals at home. The living room is comfortable and well-suited for hanging out. We enjoyed both the hot tub and the pool and the wooded area around the home, gave us the opportunity to see deer and other forms of wildlife. The area is quiet and we felt totally relaxed being at the house. There’s plenty of parking for multiple vehicles. Shawana Lynn and her husband are consummate hosts. They left snack and toiletry baskets, which we found to be very thoughtful and handy since we had forgotten our body wash. They provide plenty of towels, blankets, and pillows so guests can customize their comfort levels. Any issues that came up when we were there were quickly and graciously addressed. The amenities are perfect for a relaxing stay in the mountains. We also really enjoyed the location. It’s a beautiful area with hikes, nature drives, wineries and breweries. We had a blast here and we would totally stay again.

Great house and great host! With five adults and two teenagers, the supply of pots/pans, dishes, glasses, cooking utensils, etc. met every need. The real highlight though was Jim’s extensive and eclectic record collection. In four nights, we never once turned on the TV --- or even thought about it. Thanks Jim for sharing your wonderful cabin.

My husband and I spent our first wedding anniversary here and it was amazing! so peaceful and tranquil! So much history here. Loved all the amenities! It was super private. A thunderstorm came through our first night and it was so nice to listen to the rain. Host was super responsive and even gave us great local recommendations. 5 stars!

We were in town for a family wedding and wanted a peaceful place to stay where our dogs could get some exercise. Luke was extremely accommodating and friendly. The location was beautiful and we enjoyed the trails with our dogs. The cabin had everything we needed but kept the rustic charm. I enjoyed watching the horses in the pasture from the back screened in porch. We will definitely return when visiting family again.

The cabin is rustic. It's set on top of a hill in an opening in the woods on an active sheep farm. The views from the farm are stunning. It couldn't be any more private and any more beautiful. The front porch was ideal for enjoying a cup of morning tea. The bedroom comfortably fits two people. The loft is spacious and fits 1-2 people. Sarah was a very responsive, kind, and accommodating hostess. She welcomed us with some of her own farm fresh eggs, tasty homemade blueberry muffins, juice, creamer, and coffee. The cabin is located 10-12 minutes from downtown Lexington. The bathroom could be more private, but I would definitely rent the cabin again and Sarah was fantastic.

If you’re looking for a peaceful spot on the river, punctuated by an occasional train whistle (across the river), this is it! Bryan and Wanda made sure we had what we needed and were very kind. The cabin is low on frills but we expected that. Access to the river is very easy and our son enjoyed several afternoon floats. Paddlemore was terrific for a weekend stay.

We stayed here for a wedding in Charlottesville and, while the cabin was a bit out of the way from where most guests were staying in town, it ended up being the best decision we made. Our group was too large for hotel rooms, and this cabin gave us the perfect place to spread out and relax. We honestly wished we had more time to enjoy the space itself—it's ideal for a peaceful getaway weekend. Unfortunately, wedding events kept us running around, but we could easily see ourselves coming back just to unwind and take it all in. The property offers plenty to do, and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. A couple of small suggestions that would’ve helped us (specifically as guests getting ready for a wedding): a full-length mirror in the downstairs bathroom and some brighter lighting in the bathrooms for hair and makeup. That said, these things wouldn’t be an issue for a regular weekend trip. Overall, a charming cabin that we hope to return to when we can truly enjoy it!

Our family of three had a wonderful stay at this charming cabin! It was the perfect mix of peaceful and fun—the setting by the river is incredibly relaxing, and our child absolutely loved watching the horses and exploring the open space. The cabin was spacious, very clean, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, including a fully stocked kitchen and cozy common areas. We spent our mornings sipping coffee on the porch, took easy day trips into Lexington, and enjoyed quiet evenings by the fireplace. If you’re looking for a family-friendly retreat surrounded by nature and animals, this place is a gem. We’d definitely come back!

It rained the entire stay. While we had expected better weather, you cannot beat the windows and the sound of the rain on the roof, for a great getaway atmosphere. We loved it.

We loved our stay here! Upon arrival we were met with a perfectly clean place alongside free snacks and other amenities. The unique style of the cabin by itself made it a fun stay but combined with how well kept Gretchen had the place and all the fun things to do in the cabin made it an outstanding stay.

What a find! This cabin delivered on every promise of a serene and peaceful location. We absolutely loved being able to disconnect from the hustle and bustle and embrace the unplugged tranquility. It was the ideal spot for a relaxing getaway, and we left feeling completely refreshed. We'll definitely be back!

Beautiful new and modern one bedroom cabin had everything you need and is perfect for a quick getaway, college visit, or shopping spree at Green Front. Beautiful wood paneling inside gave it a lovely log cabin feel and the pine smelled SO good! The back porch/deck was perfect for watching lightning bugs at night. We missed the Firefly Festival, but felt like we got our own private show just out back! Cheryl and Rex were wonderful hosts. Cheryl was responsive when I was trying to book the day of and opened the booking up for me when it was showing unavailable. She quickly cleaned the place, allowing us a lot of flexibility with the check in time. The key pad lock made it simple to get in. They meet us in town for coffee the next day and shared their inspiring story. Rex built the house himself and Cheryl furnished and decorated. It's truly an american dream. Stay here, you won't regret it!

Spent New Year's with my husband and two Yorkies nestled deep in the woods, and it was everything I hoped for—and more! The property is surrounded by towering trees, offering a sense of tranquility and seclusion that's hard to come by. The bed deserves a special mention— it was the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in! We spent all three days hiking some of the best trails and relaxed comfortably watching TV in the evenings with a nice glass of Malbec. If you're looking for a peaceful retreat where you can reconnect with nature without sacrificing comfort, this Airbnb is the perfect choice. I’ll definitely be returning! Thank you Jerry and Chris.

The photos do not do this home justice!!! It was far more beautiful and relaxing than expected! The aroma of cleanliness greeted us the moment we stepped through the door! Discretely placed signage with instructions, reminder notes and motivational sentiments were displayed in such a modest manner. The furnishings were well made and perfectly suited to the decor of the home! We will definitely stay here again!
