Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Fão

The house of Susana , is charming , super cozy , we feel at home . Pena was the little time we enjoyed it , they were good times in the family and to improve we took our dog , who was also very well received . The only aspect I would say to improve is really the time of check out , it is quite early , I think it does not make much sense especially for those who have not been able to enjoy the house enough, which unfortunately was our case . thank you very much Susana for your sympathy with everything ! We'll be back for sure!

This place is an absolute gem. It is one of the nicest places we found in Portugal. The house is located in a small vineyard. Beds were comfortable. There’s a wood fired barbeque a great outdoor covered area and a beautiful infinity pool. Every morning we had fresh bread delivered to our doorstep. We picked lemons and oranges from around the house and had the host deliver us fruit. It was beautiful and quiet. The only negative is that we enjoy the place so much we did not visit any of the surrounding areas😊. If we had any questions, the host was response almost immediately with suggestions for places to go restaurants, markets. We had an excellent day and would return and stay there again anytime. It is definitely a 10 out of 10 definitely highly recommended.

Our stay at the lemon farm was incredible. The ponies are so friendly and add so much character to the overall experience. We were lucky to get the weather to enjoy the natural dipping pool & the peaceful surroundings. Top tips when staying - must have a car and use jorge’s recommendations for supermarkets etc near you. Highly recommend taking up the offer for breakfast & the sausage platter, made our experience feel luxurious. Will definitely be back!!

Beautiful villa, even more beautiful than in the pictures!! Peaceful and private place. Great for a family vacation, our children really enjoyed it. Great host, professional, friendly, very responsive. I recommend it 1000%

Beautiful location, private and serene, Maria Lurdes is a fantastic host. She took time to show us around and explain the local culture and towns. The house is beautiful with so much space for games, gym, office space, living area is spacious for large groups. The river is right in front with easy access. Will definitely go back again to enjoy the house and Maria’s great hospitality. Would easily give the place 6 STARS out of 5!!!!

There were six of us in the house for a week and we had a fantastic time! Unfortunately, it was rather cold outside and only rained almost throughout, so we used the great outdoor area with pool very little. But even in the rain you can relax there superbly: inside by the fireplace on the couch, with board games at the large dining table, at the billiards or darts. Outside, the covered area by the stone oven and barbecue area even in the rain offers a cozy place, we grilled there, baked pizza and did sports together. The view from the pool and the stone table upstairs is at least as beautiful as in the photos, fantastic! The beds are super comfortable, we slept great. Dogs bark next door, but we quickly got used to it. The location is already very far from the beach and shopping, but no problem with car. César was an excellent host, even welcomed us at night and was always available and super nice!

A very special cottage in a very special place. Really a great experience. A real fisherman's cottage with fantastic views of the sea. In the morning you can watch the fishing boats arrive. The furnishings are a bit older, but everything is very well kept and very clean. The house is located directly on the street, but there is hardly any traffic, especially in front of the house, because it is a narrow one-way street. We could easily park right by the house. At night it is very quiet, you hear nothing except the sea. Right next door is a good restaurant where you can eat very delicious fish. The Camino leads directly past the house, otherwise there is practically no tourism here. It feels like the real Portugal! There are two bathrooms, a large living room and a fully equipped kitchen, so you can also live well here as a group of four. We would come back any time and definitely recommend this great experience!

Very comfortable and well furnished apartment for 4 people. There was absolutely everything needed. The private garage was a very nice extra.

The location was so good, and it was so convenient to enter and exit with a passcode. The host's response came quickly, and the view that was slightly visible from the window was great.

Everything in the best order :) beautifully renovated building :) - Parking access a little exciting but doable :)

There were three of us sharing the property and it was so nice that I almost wanted to move in permanently! Nice terrace and very tasteful decor in quiet area. It was a short taxi ride from the airport, good proximity to the grocery store and a very nice pastry shop. Great choice if you like to stay a little secluded from the most visited tourist trails and discover different areas. We walked almost everywhere with the exception of some cheap taxi rides. 10/10 residents :)

Fernandes was very welcoming and the hospitality was fantastic. We felt at home. The view is amazing, the facilities are good. We had a wonderful time.

Great flat! Right in the middle of everything!!! Noisy at night on the weekends but we knew that booking the place. Loved the cute old world kitchen and the huge windows to let the breeze in. Check out Teresa’s paintings throughout the flat. Such a nice personal touch. Communication with the hosts was really quick! We saw so much just walking!!! No need for an Uber until we wanted to go to the lighthouse. Otherwise, so accessible to everything! Perfect place to stay in Porto!!!!

The accommodation is phenomenal. It has a well done renovation, remaining spacious and comfortable stays. Great views of the Douro River. Very good attention received by the host. I recommend it 100%!

Lovely property which was quiet and secluded. Facilities and aircon excellent also. If I have any criticism there could have been better communication re fixtures and appliances, bins, recycling, etc. The instruction to access the keys was excellent though not all of us are familiar with electronic gates! The water pressure is not great for showering despite taking it in turns and the toaster tripped the fuse to the whole kitchen on arrival which was interesting trying to find the fuse board to put it right though Rodrigo did respond to our call quickly. On balance a lovely place and would consider visiting again.

Incredible space for a family vacation. Amazing care with all the necesario for a 1 year old baby (bed, food chair, bathtub, several buoys for the pool). There were some incredible days

We had an absolutely incredible stay! The house is even better than the pictures, and our host could not have been more wonderful, flexible, accommodating and welcoming. A few highlights that aren’t immediately obvious: fresh bread delivery every morning, kitchen is wonderful and very easy to cook in, charcoal grill outside is fantastic - and lovely for grilling fresh fish in! (ask if fish is available from the local fish monger!). You can also easily do a day trip into Porto from this hidden paradise. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Ricardo and his father Mario, or this amazing villa!

We loved the layout of the house. It was perfect for our group of 9. Easy to get to the metro and market which was convenient. Only downside was a shower was broken but they came out to fix and the hot tub was like warm. All in all a great stay and wish we could have stayed longer. Highly recommend this home!

A beautiful house, close to Braga. Very friendly, we repeat for sure!!!

We had a wonderful stay at Casa de Vilar de Rei where we spent two weeks as a family. If you are looking for a peaceful oasis surrounded by nature and a place to completely switch off from the world, this is it. Marta and her father Daniel were the perfect hosts - responsive, helpful and kind. Our 1-year-old son had the time of his life riding Daniel's tractor, meeting the chickens, and picking fresh fruit and vegetables from the garden. The pool is shared with the other house but there is plenty of space for everyone and we had very nice neighbours during our stay. There are lots of places to sit and relax or read in the garden - day beds, swings, benches, or the veranda with a beautiful view of the surrounding fields. The garden is also full of herbs and lemon trees. The house inside is very well equipped, and the bed linen and towels are immaculate. We had a fantastic time and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this little piece of countryside heaven. Thank you Marta and Daniel!

Wow! We have been to hundreds of airbnbs and this one is up in our favourites. If you're up in northern Portugal I highly recommend booking a few days here to unwind. The property is stunning and so peaceful. We will definitely be staying again if ever back in Portugal.

A big thank you to Sergio for hosting us in perfect French: a small bottle and delicious pastries were waiting for us in the fridge. He gave us very good advice on places to visit in the area. The accommodation was as described. Sergio has a beautiful and large house that's very clean. The garden is very nice but unfortunately we didn't get a chance to use it too much because the weather didn't allow it.
