Vern’s Place

EricRating, 5 stars5 months ago
Great location! This house is in a great spot, just a short drive from Coco Plum beach. The owner and housekeeper were very responsive and accommodating when we booked last minute due to an issue with another rental. The house is spacious with new linens and extremely clean. Thanks for the wonderful stay!

Carried Away

JacquelineRating, 5 stars14 months ago
Beautiful place to explore North Cat Island. We especially loved the stunning views from everywhere in the house, it was well stocked, great air conditioning in the bedrooms, and the outdoor private shower was incredible. We met wonderful neighbors and everyone on the island was so nice and helpful. Could not recommend this location and island enough. Thank you very much for letting us enjoy your little slice of heaven!

Bonefish flat.

MattRating, 5 stars2 months ago
Charlene and Pedro’s home “ Bonefish Flat was perfect of everything we needed on our vacation. The location right on the water was absolutely breathtaking. It is worth noting that the roads to the home are very beat up and would strongly recommend an SUV or Jeep to access it. We did have a car and a were able to find a way without any damage , but just wanted to pass that on. The location is only about 8 minutes to Georgetown which was perfect for grocery shopping .I would most definitely stay here again!! Thank you again Charlene and Pedro !! Your house was wonderful!! We are very thankful for the breakfast items provided also!! Cheers!!

Three Little Birds

CalliRating, 5 stars4 months ago
Anthony's place was as described with a beautiful lookout. We spent so much time outside just chilling. Stunning sunrises and sunsets! The kitchen was well stocked, and we found it easy to find the place. You can Google the name of the airbnb :) Recommend hiring a boat for the day, and you will need a rental car.

Private 6.5 acre estate on the top of the Bahamas

EricaRating, 5 stars9 months ago
Four of us (3 adults and 1 teen) had an amazing time staying at Rising Tide during our first trip to Exuma. It is centrally located (only a 45 minute drive to either end of the islands) with magnificent 360 degree views. The private beach was spectacular. We rented a car allowing us flexibility to explore the whole area as well as go into town to restaurants and shopping, but there are food markets, a liquor store, and a pizza shop within walking distance. There was plenty of cooking equipment and we enjoyed preparing many meals. The dishwasher was a nice bonus. Chris welcomed us with a smile and great tips and was available to assist if needed. The house was a great base for all of the adventures we went on while also being a great place to relax on a rainy day.

Starfish Haven

MarvinRating, 5 stars5 months ago
Starfish Haven was fantastic. Great location, lot's to do, beautiful views and everything you need right there at the house. Fina is super helpful if needed but will leave you alone if you like your privacy. The dock and kayaks/paddle boards are perfect for accessing the flats, which you can walk directly on in mid to low tides or we paddled out to one of the offshore islands for a fun afternoon. Just so much to do and see on the island and Fina's offer the perfect location in the middle of it all. Or you can stay right at Fina's and never leave and find all sorts of adventures. I love to bonefish and this is a great location to stay and spend a few weeks chasing after them with the tides. Whatever you like to do on vacation, whether it be relaxing or adventures, you won't find a better spot to stay in such a wonderfully clean and spacious place as Fina's Starfish Haven.

The White House Great Exuma

AshleyRating, 5 stars5 months ago
We traveled with a large group of family (adults and children) and this home was in the perfect location and just large enough for us all. Una is the most wonderful host- she felt like family by the time we left! If you're looking for a stay in Georgetown, this is perfect for a big group. As an added benefit, we were able to also rent their Tahoe, and Dingy, which was SO hopeful for trips to the market, as well as cruising and exploring the islands. The hosts were SO responsive, answering any question or responding to any need within minutes. We felt safe in the home, and often walked all around town. Georgetown is a wonderful spot on the island, one we will return to again. The oceans nearby are out of a movie, the bluest and clearest water I have ever seen. Our trip was a fairytale, and we could not have done it without Una and this home!

Déja Vu! Perfect Central Location Steps To Beach

MonicaRating, 5 stars3 months ago
This home was a dream. The space was just right for our family of four. We made good use of the kitchen, where the equipment and pots and pans was enough to make delicious meals and dessert happen. The water cooler and ice in the fridge was very much appreciated. The furniture in the common spaces and bedroom were just right. A local friend drove us around to groceries and Georgetown, so a car would be helpful if you’re looking to get to those places. Still, We could walk to two quiet and lovely beaches as well as a friendly ice cream shop no problem. The use of the kayak with wheels to move it was a bonus! We hope to visit Exuma again, and will definitely look to see if this place is available!

Bonefish Bungalow

JanainaRating, 5 stars5 months ago
First of all, Fina is a very pleasant and hospitable person. She did everything to make us feel home. It was really great to get to know her better. The place is super charming and comfortable enough to accommodate 4 people. We love cooking, the kitchen had all the supplies we needed. The location is the best we’ll find in Exuma. The Deck is walking distance and the view takes your breath away. Our girls enjoyed kayaking and fishing. When the tight is low you can walk to the shoal. We definitely will return. I recommend Fina’s place. Thank you for everything. Jana, André, Maya and Ayla.

I liked the welcome, very friendly people. Margaret made me a nice lunch. The place is perfect for swimming, kayaking available on site, and there is a small coral reef right in front for those who love snorkelling. There's a bar and restaurant on site, and other restaurants nearby. For the price it was perfect for me

Harold's cottage on the Beach

JenayRating, 5 stars39 months ago
Harold's Cottage is truly secluded with easy access to much of Cat Island's magic. This was our second trip to the Bahama's, our first to Cat Island. Everything they say about Cat Island is true: if you want to get away from it all, this is the place. The cottage sits at the very end of Old Bight which is like a spit off the West side of the island. It is about 15 minutes from the New Bight airport and easy to access by any car. Mind you, the road to Old Bight and the one to Harold's Cottage are single-land and not paved. To get to Old Bight you drive a causeway that cross over a marsh which is created by creeks on the North and South. There miles of mangrove growing on either side. Our host arranged for us to have a car. We were given a sedan which limited our ability to explore. We will be sure to request something more capable next time. The house itself is about 1 mile from Rollezz (roll-eez) Resort which is made up of about 5 bungalows located on the marsh side of the road and cabanas on the seaside. Also located along the road are an abandoned home as well as two defunct hotel buildings and a wrecked crane which add to the ambiance of the area. It sits on an open lot with some new plantings. Wear your shoes when walking around the driveway and sides of the house as there is a lot of construction material still on the ground as well as sand burs which painfully stick into your feet. The only shade available is on the front or back decks. Be sure to ask for deck chairs. We did, and there were two folding reclining chairs that were left by the back door. There were also four plastic chairs in the laundry room that we used to sit upon in the water, but that's it for outdoor seating. We were hoping to spend more time sitting outside on the sand and in the water, but the lack of seating, and no outdoor tables or umbrella made this uncomfortable. There is an outdoor shower which we used daily after swims. However, the platform beneath and the walkway to and from it is a piece of plywood. Wear your flip flops to avoid splinters. We had to hang our towels on the railing because there is not clothesline nor hooks for doing so. We were often hanging towels over doors to allow them to dry and avoid having them blown away during windy days. Cruisers (sail and motor yacht owners) anchor in the area due to the calm conditions. There were about three in front of us and around 7 in front of Rollezz. We saw them twice a day when they would take their dogs to the beach. Other than that, we saw no one. Often, our foot prints were the only ones on the beach. The cruisers would frequent the resort for meals. We were also able to enjoy meals with them. Our host also arranged for us to use kayaks from the resort which we didn't get to do due to windy conditions, but hope to next time. The inside of the house is quite spare. We have visited many Airbnb homes and this one left much to be desired. We choose to stay in a house so we can cook and enjoy being in one place. Unfortunately, the lack in this home meant we did a lot of eating out. Many of the kitchen tools were brand new, which we appreciated. There was cornmeal and sugar in the cabinet, but no salt or pepper. We ended up having to go to the food store to get spices and dry goods for cooking. The food store is well appointed and you can get most anything you need, for a price. The living room has two sofas, two end tables and a coffee table. Due to fact that it is at the back of the house (opposite the water) we did not spend much time there. It is an open-concept kitchen and living room. We would open the back door and windows, turn on the fan (the only light in this room) and allow the Eastern breeze to blow through the house to keep the biting flies from getting to us. There is no television, no books to read and just a couple of puzzles, some cards and a game or two. The bedrooms are situated on the seaside and have French doors that open onto the deck. We spent most of our time with these doors and the windows open, the breeze blowing through and a view of the water. We were careful, though, of the air conditioner units located just behind the doors. We were nervous the wind would blow the door into the unit arm and break the glass. The Bahaman breeze kept the biting flies away, for the most part, but they always get me. There are ceiling fans (the only light in the room) and AC units in each bedroom and living room. We don't use AC because we enjoy the fresh air, but we did use the fans. I was wishing for an oscillating floor fan or mosquito netting at dusk and dawn each day as the flies were worst at those times. We did not spend nearly as much time at the house as we would have liked, due to the lack of provisions. There was no information about the area provided in the home. We did our research before arriving so we had an idea of what we wanted to check out. Luckily, we had friends cruising in the area, and the internet, to provide some additional guidance. We were given a map by the nice people at Greenwood which we left at the house. I took some notes to share with anyone visiting so that they
