The house was perfect for us. Very clean and organized. Great host always responded in a timely manner. Was only about a 30 to 40 minute drive to Acadia National Park & Bar harbor, depending on traffic it could take longer. If we ever make it back to Maine I would definitely stay at the Higgins Retreat again. Thanks again Richard & Tina.

What a wonderful experience! Rebecca was an absolutely outstanding host, always quick to respond and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. My family and I had such a peaceful stay. The home and location were incredibly tranquil, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The house and property were absolutely beautiful, and we loved sipping our morning coffee on the amazing balconies with the breathtaking views. There is so much space, and every room in the house is well thought out, functional, and cozy. The pool is even better than we hoped, so big and clean and in immaculate condition. We spent most of our time swimming and relaxing by the pool. We also enjoyed playing pool and having so many rooms to gather in with the comfort of plenty of new comfy furniture. Highly recommend for anyone looking to unwind for a vacation away from all the noise and chaos of daily life. Every single area was as described in the listing and better. Thank you for an unforgettable stay!

We felt like at home. The house is located in a private property with swimming pool and tennis courts. It’s very clean and very peaceful. Just a clarification about the description : there’s no bathroom in the basement. Then if you come with elderly people or very young kids, it could be annoying. If you like cooking, the kitchen is very well equipped. We´ll keep a very good memory of our stay in Ducktrap Retreat during the colorful foliage season.

Booked this place for our anniversary to get away from the city for a weekend.. we found exactly what we were looking for! The hot tub was wonderful, the house was clean and cute, and we had everything we could have needed! Estelle was very responsive and gave clear instructions for everything. Would recommend this place for a quiet getaway or a small group trip in the summer!

My return visit to the Boathouse was even lovelier than I hoped it would be. The location can't be matched by anything else I've seen. I enjoyed a September visit with my dog and was lucky to have pristine weather. I lived a very simple and healthy outdoors life and came home the better for it. The Boathouse is true to its description: it is simple and rustic and uncomplicated but well-equipped, and is perfect for one-and-dog, or for two people. A little coming-and-going from the neighboring houses meant that I didn't feel isolated. Margaret is truly an exceptional and friendly host who communicates promptly and clearly. I almost hesitate to share "my" Boathouse location with too many of my back-home friends because it feels so intimate and special. I already want to be back there. I offer my deep thanks to Margaret and to the place that I could - briefly - call home.

I recently stayed with my family at this incredible Airbnb that exceeded all my expectations. This property offered a hot tub, a pool table, and a level of privacy and tranquility that made for a truly relaxing getaway. One of the highlights of our stay was being able to watch the northern lights from the hot tub – it was absolutely magical. We spent a week in Acadia, and the location was perfect, just 15-20 minutes from Bar Harbor or the nearest town. The hosts were very responsive, and the place was fantastic for families, being both kid and pet friendly. It was a week filled with unforgettable moments, and I can't recommend this place enough!

We greatly enjoyed our stay at this Airbnb! It is in a nice spot and is very quiet. The kitchen is very well stocked for cooking and baking (perfect for a longer stay). The driveway was always plowed quickly after snowfall which was very helpful. It’s a pretty drive to Acadia and close to Ellsworth. This is a great place to stay!

This was the perfect spot for an off season visit to Acadia National Park! It was only about a 20-45 minute drive to all parts of the park. The home has a very private feel with limited views of neighbors on the side, and then serene private woods in the back. At night we had camp fires and watched the stars. We loved hearing owls and coyotes as well! The dogs loved the big yard with all the smells. There is a Walmart and Shaws within 5-10 minutes so this location could not be more convenient! We also loved how clean the house was and how quickly it felt like coming home after a long day! ☺️

Really enjoyed this trip we stayed. Michelle is welcoming and helpful for our check-in. Like the description mentioned is 10 seconds walk to the lake, and my dog enjoyed the time hangout on the dock. Even the weather is not the best to get into the water but we really like the lake view of the house. Location is perfect for anyone looking to go to Acadia and Bar Harbor, but don’t wanna pay thousands dollars per night.

Aaron's place was super cute and cozy,was one of the best places we have ever rented, Amazing and very private super close to Bar Harbor and attractions in the Area,like Cadillac mountain and the Arcadia national Park surroundings etc,the bed is comfortable and hot water was Amazing,the Grill is super easy to use and super efficient,the view of the lake is a Dream come true when you wake up in the morning or sunset to look out into the lake as you have either breakfast or dinner,it is especial when you can enjoy your stay in such amazing environment and gorgeous home, shopping at Hannaford and then cooking it at the home grill was the best dinner ever, thanks to Aaron for attention to detail at this property,I definitely recommend renting this home for privacy and comfort of the mind,is truly a great home and location to the attractions are superb,is far enough for privacy and close enough to all attractions without a Doubt is a Gem,I will Definitely come back without thinking about it

We loved our three nights at Seabank. The house was comfortable and immaculate, the kitchen well equipped, and the location—overlooking tidal Goose Bay with views toward Mount Desert Island—could not have been more tranquil (plus an easy 20-minute drive to Acadia/Bar Harbor). Robard was a terrific host, quick to answer our questions, and even lending a hand to ensure that we were able to check in early. We lucked into gorgeous weather and spent lots of time outdoors, reading on the deck, kayaking in the bay at high tide, and relaxing around the fire pit.

This Airbnb was amazing! So quiet and right on the water. Stunning views (an amazing sunrise every day). Inside is a little rustic but very comfortable. Cute little fire pit area next to the water in the yard. The lake is so clear and looked amazing, it was just a bit cold for an October swim. The layout is great and was very spacious for two but I could see sharing it with a couple. The drive to Arcadia and Bar Harbor was manageable and easy, lots of cute quaint Maine small town charm from Ellsworth to Bar Harbor. We’ll be returning for another visit.

Such a great stay! We had lots of fun and Chelsea was great! We were early and she was accommodating with an early check in. The place was beautiful. Would recommend again and again!

This house was amazing—hosts really have thought of everything when it comes to guest experience! Kayaking out to the tiny islands in the bay a couple times allowed us to see horseshoe crabs and bald eagles up close. The fire pit was great and the “s’mores station” with supplies in the kitchen upon arrival was so cute and thoughtful. Our three kids loved this place and didn’t want to leave at the end of the week. Our boys especially loved the lower level game room with ping-pong, arcade games, and pop-a-shot. The kids also loved reading on the sofa in the upstairs loft overlooking the kitchen. The kitchen is well stocked and we cooked dinner there a couple times during the week. The hosts gave great local recommendations as well—the craft beer at Fogtown Brewing in Ellsworth (less than 15-min. drive) is excellent, and it is very kid-friendly with a large outdoor eating area and wood-fired pizza. We’d love to return to this house! Mosquitoes are fierce so bring bug repellent.

I live 10 minutes from Stacy's beautiful property and needed somewhere to stay urgently when the pipes got a leak under my house and flooded inside our home. Upon arriving at Stacy's home, her husband Robert greeted me and let me know where everything was and how it worked. I had my children with me and he helped me carry all their things inside which I was so grateful for. Stacy and Robert were incredibly generous when repairs took longer than expected and we had to book two more nights last minute. My children and I felt so peaceful and at home. We enjoyed playing in their big beautiful yard and listening to the peepers and bull frogs at night time. I had to work during our stay and this wasn't a vacation, but as a local, I 15/10 recommend staying at Stacy and Roberts beautiful home. It is cozy, clean, and comfortable. I can say it was hard for us to leave and say goodbye. Thank you Stacy for being so helpful and compassionate during our stay!

Erica was a great host and the stay was spectacular. We were traveling with our six month old daughter and Erica was kind enough to order a pack and play for our daughter to sleep in. The space was unique and had more than everything we needed. The outdoor space was really cool with the fire pit, hot tub, and easy access to the water. We didn’t get to utilize the kayaks and paddleboards due to the weather but would certainly have tried them out if weather permitted! We spent 4 days going to Acadia and bar harbor which was an easy 30 minute drive from this Airbnb. Would easily stay here again!

Samantha’s home was even better than the pictures! The location was fantastic. The home was super clean and had a wonderful smell when we entered the home. She and her team were very responsive and provided us with recommendations based on a survey they sent as well as a packet of information at the home. Check-in and check-out were very smooth. Great place for traveling to Arcadia! Super close to the park and surrounded by fresh markets!

This house was fabulous. The location was private and peaceful. We had deer walk through the yard one night while grilling on the deck. The two rear decks and all 3 bedrooms all had waterfront views. The lawn was well maintained so the kids enjoyed having space to run and play after our long days. The house was so clean. The check out process was so easy and clear. They had a trash barrel on site, so we didn't have to take our trash with us which was as huge perk since we had a 5-hour drive home and didn't want to lug stinky trash lol. The house was so peaceful and beautiful. The Jacuzzi tub was so nice after a long day. The large TV in the living room made for a fun movie night with the family. It was close to restaurants and things to do in Ellsworth and 5 minutes to the state park beach. Check in was super easy and the host was extremely responsive.

This is a beautiful home located in the woods on a bay! If you don't mind being away from towns and crowds, this is the place. The location was relaxing and the views are spectacular. The kitchen is well appointed for cooking. We packed picnic lunches and took off each day to explore Acadia National Park. We came home each night and cooked dinners. The grill was clean and ready to use. We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the house. We would definitely love to come back in the future.

We had a great stay, everything was as shown/described on the listing! Michael did a great job of communicating with us throughout our stay. Very accommodating for our 2 dogs as well, our girls loved the fenced in backyard!
