We stayed in this converted bus for a unique camping experience, and it delivered. Yes, there were bugs and spiders inside—some folks complain about that, but come on, it’s camping. My husband and I had a blast. The farm animals added a ton of charm—chickens were surprisingly social and followed us around like little feathery tour guides. The cat was the real MVP: super sweet, hung out with us the whole time… and totally worked her cuteness to score some premium snacks. Stargazing would be unreal here, though our night was cloudy. Still, making s’mores by the campfire made up for it. If you’re after an authentic camping vibe with quirky touches, this is worth checking out. Just bring some bug spray, maybe some Lysol, and most importantly—don’t be a diva. It’s not the Ritz, it’s a bus in the woods, and it’s awesome for what it is.

This was one of the most wonderful Airbnb stays I’ve ever had. Virginia’s place was spacious, equipped with every possible amenity, comfortable bed, great shower, full kitchen (even with a stocked fridge!) and overall was just a peaceful oasis in the woods. Not to mention the warm hospitality and friendly welcome! I simply couldn’t have asked for a better experience. And a tip for any music lovers: Virginia’s place was very conveniently located if you’re going to concerts at Haw River Ballroom. A perfect stay!

Susan’s Pittsboro home was the perfect base for my sister, best friend and me during a long graduation weekend. We loved having the tranquil and spacious setting to get away from the hustle and bustle in Chapel Hill, as we came to celebrate my son’s major milestone. The adorable antique Austin taxicab made for a terrific photo shoot for my graduate in the peaceful country setting. Everything in the house was clean and abundant, and we felt right at home. Susan made us feel like family, sharing fresh eggs and helping us prepare for a storm that we luckily never really had to contend with. I’ll definitely come back!
