The Cottage is completely off grid, with fresh water coming off the mountain and energy from the sun. The cottage is built from local materials - stone walls, reed ceilings, blue gum supports. There are glass doors and windows throughout the cottage. The cottage has a beautiful open-plan bedroom and bathroom. The bathroom includes a tub, a toilet and a basin.

The cottage offers guests an unique opportunity to stay on a rustic working wine farm. It forms part of the farmstead of a historic wine farm, but has its own little garden with a view over vineyards. It is located on the R44 between Stellenbosch and Somerset West, which makes it the ideal place to reside when exploring the many surrounding wineries and restaurants. The road may be a bit noisy, but most guests hear birds more often than they hear cars. The cottage was built in the 1980’s.

Eerstebosch cottages, situated on a small family-owned property, surrounded by vineyards and stunning scenery. Located between Stellenbosch and Somerset West, a 25-minute drive from the CTown airport. While staying in one of our cottages, you will experience the feeling of a working farm, but still enjoy the beauty. Eerstebosch has four cottages, with a communal swimming pool and boma area. We are child-friendly but request that parents are extra careful around the open pool.
