We had such a lovely stay! The host was warm and welcoming, greeting us with fresh sourdough on arrival. The train carriage was cosy and peaceful — the perfect spot to unwind. We explored the beautiful grounds, stayed off our devices, and ended our days by the fire roasting marshmallows. A truly restful escape! We couldn't ask for a better weekend.

Redleaf Carriage 343 - romantic eco-escape

RachelRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
My family of 8, which included 1 wheelchair user (ambulance short distances with a stick), 2 kids and a baby booked both carriages for 3 days. Our visit was preceded by 3 days of unrelenting rain followed by really cold and windy days when we were there. Our arrival was an adventure with the green pasture hiding soft mud and we almost got stuck! Nevertheless, Sam and Katrina were unfailingly warm and responsive and more than once drove out to help us. The panel heating in this carriage was a real saviour for our older folk, though the bathroom in this one is smaller. My kids will be talking about this stay for years to come. The carriages were beautifully renovated, with thoughtful touches like games, eco-friendly features. If coming with kids, cater lots of time to visit the creek with its natural playground, tire swing and zip line!

The place was modest but adorable, with the perfect location to feel the benefits of a remote location, lots of space on the property to walk around, comfortable amenities, and access to beautiful nature. There were huge exciting storms at night but we felt safe and secure. It has everything you need, just bring your groceries.

The George - A unique train experience

CharmaineRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Our extended family had a wonderful stay at The George. Sleeping in a train carriage was a dream come true for my train loving nephew! The kids enjoyed playing handball in the yard, meeting the resident animals, as well as relaxing on the couch playing boardgames. They even saw little kangaroos or wallabies on the property in the early morning! The living area was spacious enough for all 9 of us to hang out, it didn't feel crowded at all. Yes the bedrooms are cosy, but that adds to the charm. We are in a converted train carriage after all! The shower pressure was good with lots of hot water, and there is now WIFI in case you need it. We had a great time and it definitely is one of the coolest places I have stayed at. Thanks Ashley - you guys have done an amazing job with the place!

5 stars – A perfect getaway in the heart of wine country! We had an incredible stay at The Station in Pokolbin. The property is beautifully maintained, peaceful, and surrounded by stunning views of the vineyards and countryside. The house was spotless, well-equipped, and spacious—perfect for relaxing after a day of wine tasting. We especially loved the outdoor deck for morning coffees and evening wine. The location is fantastic—close to great wineries, restaurants, and local attractions, yet it still felt wonderfully private and secluded. The hosts were friendly, responsive, and made check-in seamless. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to unwind and enjoy everything the Hunter Valley has to offer! specific details from your own stay?

Tram 608

ClaireRating, 5 stars4 months ago
We loved our stay at Peta-Lee’s tram. It was the second time staying there due to kids always asking to go ‘stay in tram again’. The kids loved exploring the tram and yard. We also went and had lunch at The Grove Gippsland which was just down the road and is definitely worth checking out during a stay at the tram.

Unique hideaway train carriages experience.

BrookeRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We had a group of 7 of us - a Mums weekend away. We were blown away with Jerrapark. Blew our expectations! The spa retreat was the best part. Photos don’t do it justice. Chris checked on us every day/night to make sure we had the fires burning and if we needed a hand with anything. The fireplace in the open kitchen/living was surrounded by couches where we could sit back for dinners and a glass of wine. The carriages were cosy with comfortable bedding. The whole venue has been thoughtfully put together. No details are missed. We would all go back again. If you’re thinking about Jerrapark, you won’t be disappointed.

Platform One. Metung.

JerryRating, 5 stars4 months ago
Very unique place to spend time in the Lakes area. The location is 6 mins into Metung with great restaurants and nice parks. I am a railway fan so there isn’t a better place for me to stay…. Mark and Jo did a great job setting and maintaining this piece of history. Trains are about connecting people and communities. And Platform One extends this retired train’s life in continuing serving this very purpose.
