Lions Leap

Our home is on the banks of the Chocolay River and just over 2 miles by car from Lake Superior. The city bike path can be accessed 1 mile down the road. Extensive hiking, mountain biking, snow biking and snowshoeing trails are about 10-15 minutes away. We have river kayaks, and depending on the water level and log jams, it is a 2 or 3 hour paddle downriver to either a take out spot or Lake Superior, depending on how far you’d like to go. We are located 12 minutes from downtown Marquette and 40 minutes from Munising and Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. There are many year round outdoor activities. We like to fish, hike, ski and mountain bike, so we have space to store your bikes, rods and ski gear inside the garage during your stay. There is Wi-Fi available and a 65” 4K smart tv in the great room. The queen bedroom has plenty of closet space and a view of the river. The room with two twin beds has a dresser and hangars on the doors for clothes. The entire ground floor is yours, approximately 1,500 square feet with a beautiful view of the river and large windows in every room. It is very spacious and light. We reside upstairs but you have your own entrance into the house through the attached garage. There is ample parking for cars. There is also a separate entrance out of the garage into the back yard. You have access to the grill, fire pit and fire wood, picnic table, patio, yard games, lawn chairs, river and kayaks in the back yard. Please see our list of amenities for more information. Please be aware the kitchen space DOES NOT HAVE AN OVEN OR A STOVE. There is a microwave, toaster oven, coffee pot and coffee, creamer and sugar. There is a large gas grill with a side burner for your use. There is a pot and a pan available for your use with the side burner.

Take a short ungroomed trail to the classic ski trails, or walk down the road to the Mill Road TrailHead to access premier skate skiing trails. We have a ski waxing station in the garage, including a table, vise, waxing iron, scrapers and brush) so you can wax your skis. Just bring your preferred wax. Lastly, three sets of Tubbs snowshoes come with the home. Enjoy winter right from your backyard in a home away from home.

3 bedroom 1880's home in the heart of the Keweenaw

Our home is great for 6+people, families with children welcome. We're close to Mont Ripley, Mount Bohemia and MTU. We are 1 mile from Swedetown cc ski/bike trails and sledding hill, and 1/4 mile from snowmobile trails. Less than 5 miles from Lake Superior. We are the perfect spot to start your trip North to wonderful Eagle Harbor, Copper Harbor and Brockway Mountain. Enjoy the wonderful views of the Lake, the Keweenaw, and relax in our cozy home. Unfortunately we do not allow pets or smoking.

Dockside Resort, on Lake Superior, has an active working marina with an on-site launch. We have sandy access to the water, a channel deep enough for diving, and docks to hang out on. Picnic area. Kayaks. 😎 The spacious vacation houses, on the big lake, are quiet. Full of rustic luxe comforts. Gorgeous views. Many good reasons to book here. Lots of fun in each season!

Chocolay River Cabin

Small hand hewn log cabin on Chocolay River. Good fishing, approximately 5 miles from snowmobile and ORV trails. Full kitchen. 1 BR (Q), Full sofa sleeper and 1 bath. Outdoor electric sauna. A fire pit. Washer/dryer. Basic amenities. Full kitchen. There is WiFi but cell service can be very sketchy. Texting does seem to work ok. We do have a cell phone booster there but it still isn’t great. If you need to make a call you can drive about 1 mile out to US 41 and service is good.
