House vacation rentals in Dorchester County

Where do I start? My boyfriend and I randomly chose Ann’s place for a quick weekend getaway knowing nothing about the town or Bivalve. It was such a great trip! Very quiet little town with the nicest locals! Ann and Eddie came by and took us in the golf cart and sharing a little about the town. Ann’s space was PERFECT and CLEAN! So peaceful and relaxing. Having the pool was great for the few hot days we had. Absolutely loved and recommend visiting this quaint little town and staying at Ann’s if you get the chance!

Such an amazing place! Joanne was super responsive and flexible. The views were unmatched! Perfect Mommy and Daddy getaway and we will certainly be back with the kids!

Clare and Chris could not be nicer and easier to work with. My family/friends have been getting together since 1994 and have been to many great Airbnb's and VRBO's. My group could not stop telling me how great of a week we had. The primary features that were import to us which the house scored big are as follows: It has a dock (we arrived via boat), The kitchen is big, laid out for many "Cooks", The kitchen was open to the dining room table, The dining room table is open to the sitting areas, The pool was clean and inviting, The fire pit with seasoned firewood was a big hit for our group, All the beds were comfortable, The bedrooms were large and comfortable, The baths were clean, modern & large and The location to "What to do in Cambridge" is only 7-10 miles away. We made prearrangements: Richardson Maritime Museum to have a guided tour with David Williams on Friday and Spocott Windmill with George Radcliff. Both of these tours were fascinating. Our weekend was 5-Stars.

The location for this house is beautiful! We loved the private dock and spacious backyard. We stayed in late March so it was a bit cold some days but we still had a great time using the provided Kayaks and sitting on the dock and watching the beautiful surroundings. The location was perfect to have some s'mores nights around the firepit. The hosts were VERY responsive. The few times I had questions they replied within minutes and were very accomodating with our requests. They were very proactive with instructions and generously mentioned a foldable crib for the infant in our group - although we had our own that we used. The kitchen had all of the dinnerware and cookware that we needed for the meals that we made. The living areas were open and inviting. It was perfect for our group. One thing to watch for is the very steep driveway. It took a few times to get used to. We would definitely stay there again when we visit our family in the area.

Our family had such a great time staying at MJ's place last year that we came back again this summer. As before, we all loved the view, pool, firepit, grilling on the deck, and walking down to the neighborhood beach. The house was very clean and the kitchen was well-stocked. All the beds were comfortable, and all bedrooms had well-functioning blinds/shades, which is really helpful when putting younger kids to bed. The lower level bathroom had been renovated since our last stay which was a great bonus. We are looking forward to returning next summer!

Our favorite Airbnb stay! Every aspect of this house was well executed & thoughtful. Fantastic layout of the house allowed our family to be as connected as we wanted yet had private places to retreat. The pool was perfect and the dock had everything you could ask for with fishing and crabbing. The kitchen was stocked with anything you would possibly need. Very quiet and calm location, yet near to grocery and restaurants. We couldn’t have asked for a better vacation spot. Mindy was awesome and available for any questions that we had. We are so grateful for this great family vacation spot!

We loved our visit to Combsberry! The rooms were generous in size offering plenty of space for our family of 7. The kitchen is huge, with full size windows looking out over the water and a large table for games and meals.. Our favorite room was the library/sunroom with overstuffed chairs for reading and conversation. The house was exceptionally clean, and the grounds well-maintained. It is a very restful place. Flaneur responded quickly to questions, and was quite accommodating. We would love to stay here again.

We had the best time celebrating my partner’s 50s birthday with friends and family at Laura’s house. It can easily accommodate large number of guests (it was 13 of us and there was room for more on the sleeper sofa and bank beds) The property is really well taken care of with style and love, each room and bathroom were extremely clean. Views from rooms facing the bay are just breathtaking. Make sure you have all you need with you bc it’s a bit a secluded area, even though we did see few restaurants on the way there. But frankly we wouldn’t even want to leave the property to go somewhere else! It is well equipped with state of the art kitchen appliances and an outdoor grill, located at the pavilion by the pool. A special thank you note for all outdoor spaces. All balconies, overed and screened verandas with tables and jacuzzi were cherry on the cake! Gorgeous place with amazing views. We will be definitely coming back if opportunity presents!

Perfect for our group for the weekend. Owners are very responsive and accommodating! Cozy and well kept house. Would book again!

nice quiet place to relax and feel right at home

We had such a wonderful trip to the Bay! What a beautiful spot! Such lovely views of the bay- with sights of sailboats, ships, rays, and even dolphins one day! It felt very private and quiet: exactly what a vacation should feel like! We loved using the kayaks and searching for shells/shark teeth! The home itself was extremely clean and comfortable to be in. Full kitchen was super helpful when feeding a whole family! It was our first solo trip with small kids and was honestly wonderful in every sense! Colin was very easy and pleasant to communicate with. 10/10- would recommend to anyone!

We had a lovely stay at Patrick’s place! It had everything we needed for a long weekend on the shore. A very comfortable home. Patrick was extremely responsive and helpful, with easy check in and check out. The kitchen was particularly lovely and well appointed! The house number is a little small so keep an eye out. And the mosquitos were fierce - don’t forget bug spray! Thanks, Patrick!

This served as a low key weekend retreat for us. We unplugged and enjoyed being in each other’s company. Being on the river, surrounded by trees and birdwatching was exactly what we needed. The kitchen was well appointed so we were able to enjoy family favorite activities (cooking together and playing board games).

Our stay was really wonderful! Heather is a great host, responsive and friendly. Her home is super clean and nicely decorated, as well as spacious and private. We spent a day adventuring along the Blackwater River and this space was perfect to rest and recoup in. Would definitely return if we stay in Cambridge again and highly recommend!!

Lisa & Hyrum were extremely responsive and helpful from beginning to end, even before I decided to book. They were communicative and helpful, which made it an easy decision to choose their property for our stay. The home is well kept, beautiful, super clean and overall perfect for our stay. My only regret is that we didn’t have more time there! We will definitely choose them again when we’re in the area. Would absolutely recommend.

We had such a wonderful stay! The kitchen was incredibly well stocked—honestly better than my own at home—with 5-6 large pots, an Instant Pot, every spice you could think of,peelers (which saved me!), and both a NutriBullet and a regular blender. It made cooking for the family a breeze. The kid had a blast on the trampoline, and we all loved the easy beach access with calm waters perfect for swimming all day and kayaking. The beach was also perfect for a peaceful morning run, and at night we could see the lighthouse light on the water. The porch quickly became our favorite spot—we gathered there to watch a rainstorm and were treated to a stunning double rainbow. The sky was full of stars at night, creating such a peaceful atmosphere. The grill on the porch made cooking super convenient. We enjoyed being close to a large park where we played pickleball. The beds were large and comfortable—everyone slept really well. Michael was a fantastic host—very attentive and accommodating.

The house are clean, bright with a great view. We had a wonderful time and were lucky to have wonderful weather during our stay! We also had a lot of fun playing Mad Gab and other games in the games chest. We were successful in catching some fish and plenty of crabs. It was a great vacation. We enjoyed it very much.

Cozy house, very comfortable, easy to find, near enough to major roads to be convenient for exploring, but quiet and private. Jefferson was super easy to work with. A real find.

Our stay was wonderful. The house was clean, had beautiful views from the bedrooms, and was the perfect place to relax. The kitchen was fully stocked (e.g. ketchup, mustard, coffee pods), and a lot of appliances. The air fryer came in very handy. The outdoor space was truly amazing. The screened porch was great for reading, evening meals, and relaxing. Being on the bay meant lots of water fun on kayaks and paddle boards. Our hosts were very thoughtful in the way they prepared the house for guests. Anytime we had a question, they were very quick to respond. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys nature and quiet peacefulness.

If you are looking for a peaceful escape, you found it. Although this home can be used for large gatherings, it is also the perfect getaway for 2. My husband and I loved watching the water and the natural wildlife. DO NOT MISS THE OPPORTUNITY TO EXPERIENCE THIS HOUSE!

In decades of renting beach houses, hotels, seaside resorts, Air BnBs, etc., I don’t ever think I’ve enjoyed a home or location as much as Water House. The setting brought us such joy - the oaks, the river birches, the fig trees, the magnolia, the loblollies, of course Tanner Creek. And your design aesthetic is so welcoming and elevating. Everything about the interior and exterior of the home is wonderful. Thank you for putting such obvious thoughtfulness and care into your home and its landscape. And what a great location near that wonderful state park. This was our first time in St. Mary’s County and I learned so much about its pre-colonial, colonial, revolutionary, 1812 and of course civil war history. It was a real revelation and Water House was the perfect HQ for those explorations. We also encountered wonderful people in the park and the local restaurants. It was just a perfect stay. Thank you!

Tricia was incredible and her place is beautiful, clean and fun! She has provided lots of additional, thoughtful and couldn't have been nicer. Highly Recommend for anyone who is looking for a peaceful, beach getaway!
