Built 180+ years ago, this newly renovated stone cottage is situated in an area locally known as "Up the Glen" just 5 minute drive from Kilcar village. If peace and quiet, Country views, rambling walks or to just look up at the stars is what you are looking for, then this is the place for you! The cottage is wifi and TV free. And with limited phone service in the valley (but can be found close by) its a beautiful place for a digital detox. Many local attractions with in 10-20 minute drive.

Our airbnb is a recent new-build project we undertook over the past two years. We had a positively amazing stay with Mona and Charles. A true gem. This is the place you will long to return. We arrived to a warm welcome from Mona who prepared fresh baked scones for us and fresh cut flowers in our room. The accommodation was very well stocked with fresh eggs, oats, granola, cold water, beer, soda, milk, a plethora of snacks, a loaf of fresh baked bread and 2 slices of carrot cake. The kitchen well stocked and in good working order if you want to prepare food. The beds are comfortable. The bathroom clean and well stocked with good shower pressure and enough hot water for 2 people. The host is mindful of the environment which we appreciated. The surroundings are so peaceful. We enjoyed playing with Addie and Bingo, their 2 lovely dogs, wandering the property and visiting the horses which roam free and were very friendly. The location is great and about a 25 minute drive to Slieve League, 30 minute to Silver Strand beach and 10 to Fintra. HIGHLY recommend this place .

Extraordinary, Off-Grid Donegal Cottage

We spent a wonderful week in Roland's cottage. It was a perfect off-grid getaway at the end of the world, with the stunning Donegal coast right on the door step, and only the sheep as company. We managed to see just a fraction of the things this stunning part of the world has to offer, so we will be back. Even though we expected to spent the week by the firestove with books, the weather in mid October was great, always changing, with much more sunshine than we hoped for. Highly recommended!

Curris cottage is spotlessly clean and is equipped with every thing one needs for a relaxing, stressfree stay. Robert and Noreen are amazing hosts, so warm and friendly and have lots of local knowledge. We highly recommend Curris cottage and are already planning our next trip back!

Donegal always delivers and David’s place is an absolute tonic is so many ways…bhí sé go h’iontacht.

My family and I had a wonderful stay in Andrea's place. It was spotlessly clean, with everything we needed including beach toys, maps, games and possibly the most comfortable beds in Donegal. Would highly recommend 👌

Amazing accommodation in an amazing setting. The house is very high-spec, warm, comfortable, clean and perfect for our needs. The view from the main sitting area has to be seen to be believed. We have travelled extensively in Donegal staying in a wide variety of accommodation but Martin's place is our new favourite. Check-in and all communication with Martin was easy. We will definitely be back.
