Great place to enjoy a peaceful time. Mountain views and swimming pool as a bonus. The location is close to the highway and ~1h away from diverse natural sceneries and cities. A car is needed to go about, Internet is not the best but OK when it worked, the sewage can also let some unwanted smells out but not a terrible thing considering that you are in a cottage in the middle of the forest like Hill. Overall the place is recommended!

Thank you for your hospitality. The owners helped us with the transfer from the airport and greeted us with wine and homemade cake, it was very nice. The apartment is great, has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The sandy beach is less than 5 minutes away. Beautiful promenade with lots of shops, restaurants and transport rental. I recommend to visit and have a good holiday!

Our discovery in Akoumia of a great Greco-Cretan family moved us. This is Dimitra and Costas. The reception was beyond our expectations. We found a place with everything you need when we arrived: kitchen, bathroom, sleeping, bath towels... The food taken from the restaurant, managed by Dimitra, comes from the farm-culture-breeding (goats, sheep), managed by Costas. It's organic. Here's what we find: wine, raki, goat milk, meat, vegetables... healthy quality products. Dithyrambic is the word not usurped. Akoumia is a typical Cretan village. 3 churches in a 200-meter course! A car is necessary for visiting, shopping. The beaches, very pretty, are twenty minutes away. We lived in a novel by Kazantsakis the Greek. Thank you so much to Dimitra and Kostas We highly recommend this place to stay.

An enchanting accommodation in a beautiful and peaceful location. We found very sweet people in the other two houses, and the tables outside and poolside provided a perfect space to have great breakfasts and day-long relaxing chat with each other. The relative isolation of the location provides tranquility and allows you to admire a million stars at night. At the same time, in just 5' by car you reach the village of Vamos where you can find minimarkets, great tavernas and also a great cafeteria/breakfast place (the Ano Kato). Mikela - the host - can be contacted in a matter of minutes and is very helpful. We hope to come back in this magical place at some point in the future.

We (father, two children) booked Yanna's house for 9 days in April 2025. Yanna and her husband Yiannis gave us a warm welcome, and check-in was very easy. The house is beautifully situated on a hillside with an east-facing view toward the sunrise. You quickly learn to appreciate breakfast on the patio! The house was very clean, equipped with everything you need, and had comfortable beds. The highlight is certainly the outdoor area, which has been lovingly designed. The old coastal road is below the property, and traffic can be a bit annoying during the day on weekdays. However, it is quiet at night and on the weekends. A car is essential; it's a 10-15-minute drive to Agios Nikolaos (pleanty of restaurants and supermarkets). Yanna can give good tips for restaurants in the area. Cretan hospitality is well known, but Yanna and Yiannis have taken it to the next level!

We stayed at Mikela and Nikos' place for a week. If you are looking for a peaceful and typical place, do not hesitate! The property is really very pleasant, a few kilometers from 2 very nice villages with very good tavernas. The guesthouses are typical and charming, the swimming pool very pleasant. Mikela and Nikos are very attentive, very responsive both by message and on site in case of need. We recommend it!

A lovely place for stay. We were 3 adults, a toddler and a baby. We felt very welcomed and enjoyed Yanna’s hospitality. A beautiful view to the sea, lots of toys for our kids, close to beautiful beaches, tavernas, ruins and other sites. Fantastic.

On site, we were greeted by a very nice lady who gave us great excursion tips. She was there every day for questions and recommendations and took a lot of time for the guests. In addition, the entire facility was very clean and well maintained. At the stand there are free loungers with umbrellas, which we almost always had to ourselves. On foot you can reach several nice taverns right on the stand. We booked a rental car through Claudia, which we used daily and would therefore recommend.

We loved the stay at the house, the fact that it was on the mountain made the holiday private and peaceful just the way we wanted. Dimitris the host was super attentive and friendly throughout the stay. Thanks again and see you next time!

This place is in a great location in Rethymno, not terribly far from parking as old town goes yet also in a nice quiet street by being convenient to a lot to do. Had a very modern feel, plenty of bathrooms and such a cool bohemian feeling back porch. Good value for 2 couples staying in Rethymno.

This place was conveniently located near Old Town Chania (10 min drive) to explore but still private and quiet enough away from the busy Old Town. It was very clean and had all the listed amenities. The host was always responsive at all times whenever we had questions or needed assistance. We liked the location of the place since it made it easier to explore the western side of Crete like Falasarna Beach. Highly recommend this place for future stay!

What a perfect spot to spend holiday! It was very hard to leave this incredible place. This airbnb has provided us with the best holiday memories. We could not have asked for a better holiday home. Nectarios is such a kind and helpful host all the way through, very hospitable! Aptera was the perfect spot for us to spend a vacation on Crete. Easy to reach every place on Crete with a car, and the local tavernas just a short walk from the house provided us with a perfect local feeling. We hope to be back one day!

Nice room, conveniently located near the old city. The parking garage was a big help and the room was really well kept.

We had a great time. The hosts are always reachable and willing to help with everything. Our bag didn't was delayed, so we had to arrange for delivery 2 days later. Dimitra and Dimitris were very helpful and the bag arrived at Dimitris' place in Kissamos (since we were not at home to wait for it), and Arianna (mother) delivered it. We arrived very late (the flight landed at 9 pm and then we had to figure out the missing luggage), so it was close to midnight when we go there. Arianna was waiting for us, showed us everything, and we found a wonderful house stocked with fruit, a basket of local eggs, watermelon, honey, oil, etc. The place is conveniently located with a short drive (15 min) to the beach (Falasarna is the best), hikes (run from the house or hike through the olive groves) and taverns (20 min walk to the first one and 30 to 4 others). We didn't use air conditioners, but it worked fine if needed. Beds were very comfortable. Internet was great for watching Olympics and zooming.

Top location, 200m from beach, 1km from super markets tavernas and pharmacies, best place for vacations, very friendly staff and neighborhood! I'll visit again in the future for sure!

A nice little apartment. The beach is easily accessible on foot. The city itself offers a couple of small restaurants. For more experiences of the island, renting a car is great.

This property was lovely!! It had everything we needed, was clean, location was great and communication was excellent. Unfortunately the beaches were too windy for our liking and because we have small children it makes it difficult but that can’t be helped. I do recommend to anyone on this site to always communicate with the host and request exact address link to be sent to you for the directions situation. Definitely recommend this property 😄

We can recommend the place without restriction - The terrace is sensational, even better than in the photos - Great view of the Cretan Sea - Very good mattresses - Very friendly and helpful landlords - A good starting point for many activities in eastern and central Crete Notes: - The place is close to the highway, which you can sometimes hear, but it didn't bother us. - We found the village of Malia quite terrible, but it's OK for shopping and eating. Otherwise, you don't have to go there. Other: We flew with Aegean and rented a car from bluecarrental. Both were very good.

A very beautiful and comfortable apartment, well designed as a space both internally and externally, with nice decor. Perfect location, with great ease of parking. The hospitality is great, I would love to stay there again, I highly recommend it.

Maria and Stelios were very accommodating, friendly and welcomed us personally at check-in. They also took care of us during the stay and even put local specialties on the terrace for us in between. The apartment was exceptionally beautiful. The kitchen is very large and well equipped. We liked to eat on the large terrace and drank coffee on the additional, also large balcony. Terrace and balcony are exclusively for the apartment and equipped with sufficient sun protection, which also offers privacy. The apartment is in a great location. It's only a 3-minute walk to the beach. There you will also find plenty of opportunities to eat or drink coffee. The supermarket is also very close by foot. There are also countless smaller supermarkets, bakeries and other shops in the neighborhood. Everything is accessible without a car. Walking to the old town takes about 20 minutes. We often took the bus (5 min).
