Casa el Guarumo

BurtonRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Great place outside of San Vito. Luke and Giovanny were very pleasant making us feel welcome on their permaculture farm. Fresh fruit awaited us upon our arrival along with birds feeding at fruit feeding stations. In the mornings the coffee grown on the farm along with fresh eggs and sitting outside observing and listening to birds was awesome. Walking the farm grounds was a delight. We visited a few of the places suggested to us by Luke. We had the hot springs all to ourselves! Four wheel drive is helpful to travel in the area on the rocky roads. Washing machine was appreciated as was lying in the hammocks on a lazy afternoon/evening. Glad to support this small permaculture farm!
The main living area features an open layout with high ceilings and large windows, inviting natural light. The kitchen is equipped with wooden cabinetry, a refrigerator, and a dining table surrounded by benches. A wooden staircase leads to the mezzanine level above.

Tamandua | Bellavista Farm

OliverRating, 5 stars2 months ago
This is an incredible location, really in the forest and a steep walk to get to but you feel alone and adventurous. There was a thriving community of paths and treehouses here once which is quickly being covered by the jungle and this adds to the mystique. the house itself is wonderfully light, spacious and comfortable. some of the other, older treehouses are really dark and deep in the forest . we will try to return

Ojochal Sea View – Pickleball and Private Pool

PatRating, 5 stars3 months ago
Cecile and Carla are the most welcoming hosts who made our stay very enjoyable. The property is stunning - we especially loved the pickleball court and infinity pool. This place is perfect if you’re looking for a relaxing retreat away. There’s a lot to do in the neighboring towns but also a lot to do should you want more of a staycation experience given how expansive and beautiful her place is. While it can be difficult to learn the way up the mountain initially, Cecile was incredibly helpful and the roads held up well despite the rain. She anticipated our every need such as ensuring we had spare lamps in case of power outages with storms that are typical in Costa Rica. Please follow her instructions and get that 4x4! Also know that it is at least a 4hr drive from SJO. I highly recommend booking at least a week long stay here - it’s truly a jungle oasis with the best hosts who make you feel right at home and go above and beyond. Thanks for an incredible stay! 10/10 would book again.

Casa Tucán

TinaRating, 5 stars2 months ago
Casa Tucan is a beautiful and peaceful place to stay. We loved waking up early every morning and watching the birds come and go! Cecelia and her son, Gabriel, were very welcoming and responsive. Cecelia connected us with tour guides and other bird watchers, which was very helpful. I was able to cook our meals quite easily and the grocery stores are a short drive away in town.
A covered porch with wooden railings is surrounded by lush greenery and tropical plants. Vines hang from the roof, adding natural decor. A glimpse of vibrant flowers can be seen amid the rich foliage, creating a serene and peaceful outdoor space.

Brand New, Modern Jungle Villa

GiselleRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
This stay was beyond perfect. The home was spotless, beautifully designed with high ceilings and seamless indoor-outdoor living thanks to massive sliding doors. It was stocked with everything imaginable—top-notch cookware, quality toiletries, even thoughtful touches that made it feel like home. With a child in tow, we appreciated how safe and comfortable the space was. You’re tucked into the rainforest mountains, so brief water or power outages can happen—something we expected and which was well communicated. It didn’t impact our stay in the slightest. Just be sure to have a 4x4 to access the area. Karl and Ivonka have truly created an oasis—every detail made us feel welcomed and cared for. If you’re like us and debating where to stay, trust that this one is even better than the photos. Nearby, Tagua Café is a gem, and the surrounding waterfalls and restaurants made the trip even more special. Truly unforgettable. Thank you!
