Serenity Lakeside Cottage

Cheryl’s home was absolutely gorgeous! The kayaks and the small walk to the lake with them was amazing and we really enjoyed the beautiful neighborhood and privacy. The house was incredibly clean and had everything we needed. We came in for a softball tournament so we didn’t have as much time as I wish we did to enjoy everything so we will for sure be back in the summer!

Contemporary Modern Smart Home Near Bayfront

PatriceRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
I traveled to Erie for work, which is stressful. This home is a (private) smart home in picturesque and quiet neighborhood. I was able to decompress after work every day. It rained a lot so I was unable to enjoy the patio. Instead, I opened the drapes and welcomed the streaming lights of the backyard from the kitchen and bedroom. I will definitely try to book again to sit on the patio and sip tea in the evenings and take walks by the neighboring lake.

lake house 2

BonnieRating, 5 stars8 months ago
Wendy's Lakehouse was exactly what my husband and I needed for our mini-retreat after our daughter's wedding. We were mentally, physically, and emotionally exhausted when we arrived; but after a couple of days of complete quiet and privacy in the house, walking and laying on the private beach, listening to the water, watching the sunsets, and basking in the fresh Lake Erie breezes: we felt restored and refreshed. The only thing that disappointed us was that we couldn't stay longer... life rolls on! 😅 Within hours of our arrival we were making plans to return- next time with our 4 sons- as soon as possible! We even were dreaming about bringing future grandkids in years to come! 🥰 Thank you, Wendy, for providing this peaceful retreat!

Cheerful 3 BR/2 Ba. Cottage w/ Midway Beach access

MicheleRating, 5 stars9 months ago
Amy’s place was a great stay for us. It was my husband, 4y/o, and 9 month old. 3 bedrooms. Two by the front bathroom with stand shower and a master with its own bathroom and shower/tub. Master bed big enough for all of us comfortably. Kitchen had everything we needed including a coffee maker and glass blender. They have kitchen towels, bath towels, and rags. Fully stocked with TP. They had a full roll of paper towels and two trash bags in kitchen can. Bathrooms were clean with good working showers. Dining table was great for our meals and playing board games (some available at the cottage). Couch was a good size that we could all be comfortable for movies. Their TV had lots of channels and has options for the streaming service logins. The internet was good. No dishwasher or washer/dryer (as mentioned) which for me was quite pleasant and gave it a more simple feel. Walk to lake was nice with our beach cart and stroller. 10/10 recommend. Amy was so nice and helpful with any questions.

Your guide to Conneaut Lake

Welcome to Conneaut Lake

As the state’s largest natural glacier lake, Conneaut Lake has the power to melt the hearts of those who come to the region. The borough bearing the name sits on the southern end of the water in Crawford County in northwest Pennsylvania, but the moniker is most associated with Conneaut Lake Park, a historic amusement park, which has one of the nation’s oldest wooden roller coasters, plus a boardwalk along its lakefront beach. While the lake itself is a favorite for water activities such as fishing, water skiing, and swimming, the area is also known for a mix of other traditions, like a summer arts festival, winter ice sculptures, flagpole holiday decorations, and its famous strudel.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Conneaut Lake

For the most enjoyable weather, head to Conneaut Lake from mid-May to early October, when day and night temperatures are mild and comfortable. The Conneaut Festival of the Arts takes place in July, and the county also hosts the largest agricultural fair east of the Mississippi in August. Spring and fall months bring a bit more chill because of the humidity and wind, but overall offer a temperate climate. Packing an umbrella is always a good idea, though, since rain is not uncommon. Fall is also when the town has its Pumpkin Fest with a parade and pumpkin drop. Winter, however, can be more challenging, as it can snow up to nine times a month. Even the high temperatures hover around the freezing mark, but Conneaut Lake still knows how to celebrate, with its Winter Ice House Park Festival.

Top things to do in Conneaut Lake

Conneaut Lake Park

The main attraction in the area is all about fun and games. On the surface, it may just seem like an amusement park, but with roots dating back to 1892, it’s so much more than that. Sure, there are vintage rides, such as the carousel from 1910 and a wooden roller coaster from 1938, but there’s also the boardwalk and beach, making it the ultimate location for all kinds of delights.

Ernst Trail

As part of the French Creek Recreational Trails in Meadville, the Ernst Trail is an abandoned railroad bed that traces the edge of French Creek and has been converted into a pathway for walking, running, biking, and inline skating, as it passes by wildflower meadows and marshlands.

PennDOT Road Sign Sculpture Garden

When a group of Allegheny College students found out the state’s Department of Transportation had some extra road signs, they got to work turning them into art along the Smock Highway in Meadville. Also known as “Read Between the Signs,” the metal sculptures depict waves, a barn, silo, and a Ferris wheel, all made of old wayfinding signs.
