Here in the Burren, the bare exposed limestone which is up to 780 metres in thickness, covers an area of 250 square kilometres. Great slabs of rock are almost as flat and undisturbed as they were when they were formed in the warm shallow seas of the Carboniferous ocean 340 million years ago. The Burren does not mean barren; people have settled here since Stone Age times. Evidence of their habitations and tombs are all around you. The unusual flora of the Burren has attracted huge interest and attention over the years. Rare and spectacular plants grow in abundance throughout this unique limestone region. Unusual butterflies and moths feed on the flora and the hazel scrub. Pine forests give cover to the larger animals including Pine Marten.

Siamo arrivati da Karen la sera tardi, dopo una lunga e stancante giornata uggiosa: entrare ci ha subito regalato una sensazione di calore e accoglienza che non si può descrivere a parole. La stanza è una delle più confortevoli, curate e pulite in cui siamo stati. La location è molto comoda per raggiungere le Cliff of Moher. Karen si è dimostrata un host eccezionale, estremamente gentile e disponibile. Consigliamo vivamente a tutti!

Sehr nette Hosts! Das morgendliche Frühstück mit netten Gesprächen ist das Highlight. Man sieht allerdings in dem Haus, dass dort gewohnt wird, es ist also nicht alles blitzsauber… Trotzdem ein schöner Aufenthalt in schöner Umgebung! Man braucht auf jeden Fall ein Auto.

We cannot recommend this enough! idyllic location close to Lahinch. excellent views, and the place was quiet and spotlessly clean. Milo the dog is a very good boy also and was so patient with my grumpy bitch Malibu. Excellent value for money, will hopefully be back in the future! the host is so helpful and there was a lovely little welcome book with recommendations for the local area. Ann was an absolute amazing host! Nice size bedroom and everything was spotless. Probably the highlight of our trip was Ann's small farm on the back of the house. Our son was delighted with the animals. Connor - Ann's grandson - Was a beautiful little gentleman with us showing us around the farm, very sweet boy! Really nice stay, thank you for having us.
