What a lovely lake cabin escape! Gilbert was communicative and very accommodating. We really enjoyed the kayaks, fire pit, and relaxing on the dock. The place has all the essentials and cute rustic charm. I’d definitely stay here again!

This is the perfect place it is 7 to 15 minutes away from amazing hikes, water falls and down town as well. I was really on vacation as I didn’t have to drive far. Vogel state park is 7 min away and many of the water falls are about 10 to 15 min away. The house is beautiful the host is amazing. I will be coming back and I never like to visit the same place twice but this spot was just amazing.

We had an amazing stay at this property, absolutely gorgeous inside and out! Mike and Samantha were fantastic hosts, very responsive and helpful with any questions we had during our visit. The views of the surrounding trees were stunning, and we were lucky enough to see deer roaming the property every morning, which made it feel even more magical. The home itself was exactly as described, clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully put together. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again in the future. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed a relaxing 3 night stay in Bobby and Dina’s beautiful, river house and they were the perfect hosts! They were very responsive to questions and even offered area suggestions including a wonderful local butcher, for our BBQ night on the deck, listening to the peaceful sounds of the river. This home had everything we needed to prepare meals, very clean and tastefully decorated. We highly recommend this home for your trip to the Murphy area and would love to return when we have more time to fish & kayak!

Loved our stay with Anne and Frank! They greeted us when we got there even though it was relatively late. They were very accommodating and friendly as well! The place is pristine and the surrounding area has a lot of drivable things to go to. My crew and I want to come back because we wish we had spent more time in the area!

This cabin is a must stay! Lots of privacy, beautiful scenery, and a great place to escape. Brad provided a wealth of information to make our stay easy and enjoyable. And the pie! Such a treat. Will be staying here again.

This place is phenomenal! Even with bad weather there were a ton of games and enough space to be warm and cozy. We have so much fun inside and out. North Georgia has beautiful places to visit and, if you like stones and crystals, fun places to do simple mining. The house is wonderful, very clean, well equipped, just bring your food. Corey, the host, is great communicator and always responds my messages quick. This was our 2nd time and we are planing the return.

I loved staying at the Cozy Boho Cabin! It was exactly as shown, with every amenity and thoughtful touch. The games, record player and record selection, charging pads on the bedside tables…everything was great. The location is 10 minutes from Ellijay’s downtown and about 15 minutes from the rec center, with a big workout room, indoor pool, tennis courts and arcade, which my 10-year-old nephew loved. We had such a great time there. It was a perfect weekend getaway to the mountains!

Tree Oasis!! Bird Dog Lodge is perfect for a getaway. Very clean and great when traveling with pets. Bobby is super responsive and helpful. Highly recommend a stay here! We’ll definitely be back!

We had the most refreshing and relaxing stay here. There were 11 of us and we had tons of space. Everything was Inviting and clean. The front porch swing was a favorite and also the fire pit area. Will stay again

What a gem! Gilda’s land is peaceful and energetic. Our daughters were obsessed with the art rooms and the animals. We all loved every bit of our stay and most definitely recommend booking it for any time of the year. We can’t wait to be back!

This cabin was by far the best cabin we’ve stayed at with our family. It was clean and comfortable. It also had a lot of necessities. My daughter even needed a bandaid at one point and said there was some upstairs. The cabin was well equipped with anything you may need including seasoning, toaster, coffee machine, pots, pans, plenty of dishes, etc. our kids loved the games and we also enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit. The hosts were very responsive and checked in regularly to make sure things were going well. Be careful if you grill at night because there was a raccoon circling the deck while we grilled the first night. The last thing you want is rabies shots from an animal bite lol. Also, there is a great all natural produce store called Paw Paw’s produce up the street. We stopped there a couple of times and got their watermelons and some veggies. Overall, this was an amazing stay and we will consider it again in the future.

This is the fourth time we have rented the cabin. Three times were for five weeks each. We love it there and could not ask for a better host, very responsive to our needs. Each time we return there are new additions to the property, this time a lovely fire pit and stairs leading from upper parking lot to cabin. Very peaceful and quiet with a pond on the property. We look for the deer and turkeys on the road to the cabin.

We had a wonderful time! It was a little bit like sleeping in a treehouse. Very peaceful and pretty surroundings, lots of wildlife to enjoy. We really loved the grill and how easy it was to use, no need to worry about charcoal or a propane tank. The bed swing on the front porch was my favorite place to read and rest. My kids enjoyed using the kayaks, fishing, and being out on the water. The kitchen was well stocked, too. I arrived later than expected, and it was dark. Corey‘s communication was very helpful and prompt. And the binder of information might be the most thorough I’ve ever come across. Thank you for thinking of everything.

Such a cute little cabin, perfect for a getaway. Had the feeling of being secluded in nature but the convenience of being close to town! We loved how cozy the inside felt and it had everything we could have needed!

This stay was just what we needed for a last minute weekend getaway. Was just the right size for 2 of us. The porch is a beautiful spot to relax. Nick was very responsive answering any questions.

My son and I were so happy here, and didn't want to leave! The cabin and area were even more beautiful in person; the photos and clear description were great, but seeing everything in person was even better. This felt like home for our three nights, as we were very comfortable. My son was happy with the bed, and I found the couch to be quite nice to sleep on. Everything was clean and ready for us to settle in, and we did our very best to leave it the same way. There was a storm during our stay and our awesome hosts made sure to take care of us when the power got knocked out and checked on us after, as well. They're wonderful people and we greatly appreciate them sharing this tranquil space with us. You won't be disappointed when you choose to stay at Resting Deer!

If you’re looking for a peaceful cabin with all the amenities and close to everything then this is the place for you! Close to the main highway between Blue Ridge and Ellijay but far enough off the road to hear only the birds and other forest sounds. For someone not used to steep gravel roads the pitted driveway could be a little daunting but very doable especially in an SUV and it’s only a short distance. Cabin has everything you might need and it was so nice to have a variety of kitchen appliances such as an air fryer! All in all a very peaceful getaway. Highly recommend!
