Wilderness and Aurora views close to town - A charming cedar shake house perched on a bluff overlooking the Tanana River with a view of the Alaska Range mountains and northern lights when the weather permits. About 2000 square feet with 2 bedrooms, each with a queen bed. Maximum occupancy in winter is 5 people if one person is willing to sleep on the very comfortable couch. Aurora viewable from within house if weather and aurora activity cooperate.

The little log cabin in the woods

This little log cabin gives guests an authentic Alaskan experience of "damp" (running water at the sink, heated outhouse, no shower) cabin living with all the creature comforts in a cozy spot nestled in the woods. It's close to town, but far enough away to see auroras in the dark winter skies. Close to trails and local entertainment and food, but you just might see a moose walk by.

Our UPSTAIRS studio has a full kitchen, bath and laundry that sleeps up to THREE people. The kitchen, dining, living and sleeping areas are all open to each other, while the bathroom and laundry have a separate space within the Studio. We built the Rocky Top AirBnB as an Aurora-viewing, winter-loving house: its walls are a foot thick, with radiant floors heated by an environmentally-friendly vegetable-oil boiler. At night, watch the Aurora from bed or the large north-facing windows. The large couch is a comfortable place to watch the low winter sun traverse the mountains to the south during the day.
