Family-friendly vacation rentals in Central Finland

Rantasauna oli parhautta mitä voi suomalaiseen maisemaan odottaa. Vietimme joulun tuolla huvilalla ja hyvin mahduimme 8-henkisen ryhmän kanssa toimimaan. Kesällä olisi varmaan vielä huikeampaa kun ulkotilat ja esimerkiksi piha voisi olla paremmin käytössä.

The house was clean and well-equipped. We especially enjoyed the sauna and hot tub which were easy to use.

Paikka oli ihana, rauhallinen ja mukava, sopi oikein hyvin juhannuksen viettoon. Nitan kanssa oli helppo viestitellä, ja ennakkoon hyvin annettujen ohjeiden vuoksi majoituksen aikana ei tarvinnut olla kyselemässä lisäinformaatiota tmv.. Ja jos olisi tarvinnut, niin se olisi varmasti sujunut moitteetta 😊 Suosittelen tätä paikkaa !

We had such a fantastic time at Marko and Laura's cottage. The cabin was incredibly comfortable and homey, with everything we needed. The location was the true gem, just a couple of kilometers out of town, but so peaceful and isolated. We spent more time in the lake, sauna, and hot tub than inside. Firewood was even provided, which was so amazing. Laura and Marko responded very quickly and offered excellent instructions. Thank you so much!

Erittäin rauhallinen ja luonnonläheinen mökki saunoineen kuitenkin lähellä palveluja. Kaikki oli todella siistiä ja toimivaa. Viihtyisästä ja tilavasta saunasta irtosi mehukkaat löylyt. Tänne tunsi olevansa tervetullut. Erinomainen ohjeistus sekä ennakkoon että paikan päällä. Kiitos!

Loved that place, especially that sauna has window and is heating up with firewood. And there is fireplace and that makes it cosy and warm!🤩

It was an amazing summer house, with a seperate sauna and a special bbq cabin. It was very beautiful and peaceful there. The lake is perfect, since it takes very long to get deeper, which is also perfect if you stay here with your kids. Note that there is no shower with hot water, but it was not a problem for us during our stay, since we could just swim in the lake. The communication with the host was fast and very friendly. Only point of improvement that I could think of, are better mattresses, especially for the two beds upstairs.

If you are aiming to find an idilical cottage, immersed into the nature, while keeping all the neccesities at hand, Harry's cottage is the perfect one! So far the best cottage I have been in Finland.

A truly magical place, your own little universe. A quiet and peaceful place like this is not easy to come by these days, especially not with all the modern amenities that Pirjo's place offers. Private sauna, comfortable beds, a well-equipped kitchen, fast WiFi, near-total isolation with a town still in reach... I could go on. A true gem in the middle of the beautiful Finnish nature and without a doubt the best Airbnb I ever stayed at. Pirjo herself is an amazing host. Not only did she always reply quickly and very helpfully – she went out of her way multiple times to accommodate and go the extra mile for me, organizing helpful things for me that I didn't even ask her to. I am so grateful to Pirjo, whose hospitality has been the cherry on top of this amazing vacation-cake. Also the island's caretaker, Heikki, was super nice and helpful and I'm happy to have met him. Sadly I didn't meet Pirjo to thank her in person but I hope we will once I inevitably come back for another stay.

Vanhanajan "mummolan" saunan löylyt hyväili motoristeja pitkän ajopäivän päätteeksi.

Very peaceful place to spend family time and relax. I recommend that it's a holiday destination. It was very good in winter so will be amazing in the summer with all what you need for a perfect holiday. 🥰

Stayed at Timo's amazing "mökki" (=cabin) for almost two weeks with my family. Timo was really responsive and helpful from the start and the mökki is simply wonderful. Missing it already.

Todella hyvä kokonaisuus. Majoittajan kanssa pystyi joustavasti sopimaan avainten noudosta ja asunto oli perusilmeeltään siisti. Yksityiskohtaiset ohjeet majoitukseen liittyen sai myös kirjallisesti avainten noudon jälkeen.

Very cosy, clean and well equiped cottage within walking distance from Ähtäri zoo. We enjoyed surrounding nature trails and fire places by the lake.

Nice cottage with everything you need for a stay at Himos. Plenty of amenities and a few minutes drive to the ski slopes and 3 minute walk to the lake.

Asunto oli viehättävä ja sopiva pidempäänkin oleskeluun. Kaunis vehreä alue lähellä järven rantaa, kahviota ja Majakka ravintolaa. Vanhan ajan tunnelmaa. Kaikki sujui mutkattomasti. Susanna oli erittäin avulias ja ystävällinen.

Täydellinen paikka rentoutumiseen luonnon helmassa. Kohde oli erittäin viihtyisä ja taatusti kokonaisuudessaan siistein vuokramökki, jossa olemme koskaan majoittuneet. Mökin puusauna antoi hyvät löylyt. Tänne tulee mielellään uudestaankin!

Wir hatten einen tollen Aufenthalt in der kleinen Hütte am See. Es ist wirklich ruhig gelegen, keine direkten Nachbarn. Die Kommunikation war unkompliziert, freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Häuschen ist gut ausgestattet, uns hat es an nichts gefehlt. Was man vielleicht wissen sollte, ist, dass die Treppe zum Schlafbereich wirklich steil ist. Alles in allem kann man hier eine Zeit verbringen.

The location of this house is perfect. It is in the center of town, yet quiet at night. The host is attentive, communicates very clearly and promptly. Our family had a great time here and I highly recommend. It’s probably a model Airbnb home —local, friendly, and better value than any hotel in the area.
