Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Carlton

This house was a dream. Gorgeous finishes, tons of bathrooms, and great location. It is on a busy street and the backyard isn’t totally fenced, but all worth it for the location. We would definitely stay again

Carlton Gates is a great way to reconnect family, share a meal with local favorites or cook at home, visit much of what Oregon has to offer (winery, short drive to the coast, visit a local Trappist Abbey, and more), and simply be local enough to a big city and remote enough to disconnect from the hustle and bustle. The accommodations were just as described on AirBnB: two master suites, one bedroom with connecting bathroom/laundry room, and a single bedroom. All room had a television screen for streaming service—we could not figure out how to use the local Comcast and YouTube TV wasn’t an option (although I suppose we could have logged a laptop into HDMI), but didn’t ask the host as there were plenty of other things to do! Downtown was VERY walkable and the neighbors were friendly to offer food recommendations. Our favorites: Park and Main (pizza and ice cream!) Our Lady of Guadalupe Trappist Abbey is located an easy nine minutes from the house. Siltstone Winery is a MUST!

Was lucky to snag this place so close to the long weekend. Beautiful location right on the river and far enough away from any neighbors and the road that it feels like you are all by yourself. Well stocked kitchen and good water pressure/hot water. We were also successful in catching a couple of trout! Hope to be back soon.

Our family found Janell’s home spacious and relaxing. It was a rainy weekend so we were able to enjoy the back deck and yard. It was beautiful! The kitchen was well equipped, bedrooms were comfortable and spacious. Appreciated the fireplaces too! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!

Where to begin? My partner and I and another couple spent 2 nights at Carissa’s gorgeous home, and could not stop raving about it the entire time. We were in Carlton for some wine tasting and exploration and this made the perfect home base for our trip. Said simply, this Airbnb was a dream. Gorgeous, incredibly stocked kitchen. Large yet cozy living room with wood fireplace. Eclectic and lovely decor throughout. Comfy and spacious bedrooms. Amazing outdoor space. And did I mention the friendly goats and donkeys just down the road? The owners have so clearly put their heart and soul into this home and all the other projects around their expansive property. We were sad to have to leave it so soon, and have added this to our “must return” vacation lists. Highly, highly recommend.

Another great stay at this charming house. Perfect location to drive out to estate tastings or simply walk to the many downtown tasting rooms. We will be back!

We absolutely loved Maison Monroe. Check-in and check-out were super easy and hassle-free. The place itself was absolutely beautiful—clean, well-designed, and very comfortable. One of the best parts was the location; we were able to walk to lots of great restaurants, shops, and more. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a convenient and cozy stay!

Lovely home with beautiful decor. Quiet neighborhood. Easily walkable to town - including restaurants, coffee shops and some wine tasting rooms. Pleasantly surprised by the area. Would recommend for a long weekend.

We had a lovely stay at Adrienne’s place in Happy Valley, Oregon! Adrienne and his wife are such a sweet and welcoming couple—it truly felt great meeting them. The home is in a beautiful neighborhood with stunning balcony views and a refreshing breeze that made our time there extra special. The space was well-equipped with snacks and all the utensils we needed for dining, which was a thoughtful touch. When we requested it, they kindly helped us by setting up a portable air conditioning unit, which made our stay even more comfortable. They also baked and shared delicious muffins with us, which was so thoughtful and sweet—it really made us feel at home. Overall, a wonderful location, a cozy and well-maintained home, and such kind hosts. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the Happy Valley area!

SO. MANY. STAIRS. 😂😂 be prepared to climb so many stairs to get to the upper unit. BUT WELL WORTH IT!! Just be prepared to take a few trips if you have a lot of bags or heavy stuff. The stairs definitely made us get our steps in hahaha. The host was extremely responsive and even let us check in about 30 mins early because we happened to get into town so close to check in. The bed was super comfortable! The couch was so comfy too for a nice yap about it. GIGANTIC SMART TV in the living room. My friend and I kept saying “this tv is freaking huge” every 10 mins hahahaha. Great space, love the sky lights, the patio was cute. Would book again!

Such a beautiful and peaceful place and perfect for one or two people. The shower was spacious with two showerheads, the bed was comfortable, and outside area was exactly what I needed. I kept the bedroom windows open because I like to be cool, and there was very little noise, except an occasional serenade by a nearby frog. Easy to get to from the freeway, though my GPS had me on the next street over, but it was easy to figure out where I needed to be with Rebecca’s directions before I got there.

This was my fourth time staying here. Fireplace Flat feels like home to me now as it is located 2/10 of a mile from my daughter’s house that she was renting while attending the University of Portland. I feel safe and comfortable at Fireplace Flat even traveling alone and I have a routine when I stay there.

Katya's place was a gem of a stay. Cozy and peaceful setting surrounded by a beautiful garden. The great location was walkable to coffee shops, parks, restaurants and a brewery. Highly recommend!

Absolutely loved our stay at Hex Odyssey! The house was stunning and equipped with everything we could possibly need for a comfortable stay. The check-in and check-out process was seamless, making our arrival and departure a breeze. Our host, Lance, provided incredibly clear instructions, which made navigating the property easy. What truly made our experience special was Lance's hospitality. He was not only friendly but also incredibly responsive to any questions we had. We were pleasantly surprised to find a welcome basket and a bottle of Argyle sparkling wine waiting for us, which added a lovely touch to our stay. It was evident that he genuinely cared about ensuring we had a wonderful time. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend Hex Odyssey to anyone looking for a perfect getaway!

Great place with access to Max and a number of other activities on the Westside of Portland. We were able to navigate to a Timbers game without much trouble.

We had an incredible stay at the Hex House! The photos really can’t capture how comfortable and cozy the space really is. The instructions were easy to follow and Lance communicated everything before we arrived, so no need to reach out while we stayed. The weather was cool and wet so we didn’t get to use the pool, but the hot tub and sauna were great! We had a group of six and there was so much space. We can’t wait to come back again, maybe next time with our partners! Thanks so much!

I spent 2 weeks at Rakshith's place and I really enjoyed my stay. The house is big and beautiful and it is located in a residential area surrounded by trees and hills. Not far from a shopping center (including a grocery store and restaurants/coffee shops) and bus stops. The bedroom is big and the bed super-comfortable. The bedroom has a balcony, a big walk-in closet and a private bathroom attached, equipped with toiletries (shampoo, soap, towels, etc.). Living room and kitchen are large and impressive. Kitchen had everything I needed and more. Rakshith was always helpful and promptly answered questions. I highly recommend Rakshith's place. I will definitely stay at his place next time I need to stay in the west Hills area.

Spacious and clean place with a beautiful creek view. We were in the area to visit wineries and take trail hikes. Most things we did were within a quick 30 minute drive. The host is extremely helpful and courteous.

Beautiful views and layout. Well equipped kitchen. This house is a gem nestled in the Willamette wine country. The perfect place to celebrate with our daughter for her 25th birthday and graduation from Willamette Law. Memories to cherish. Marie, Mike & Francesca Muchow
