Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Cape Breton Island

Sharon’s riverside cottage was a great end to our NS vacation. We spent many hours enjoying all the amazing seating areas on the property, but especially enjoyed coffee and meals down on the water. Sharon made us feel at home and was the most amazing host we’ve had throughout our stay. We would recommend this beautiful cottage to anyone looking for a relaxing location on Cape Breton.

This tiny home perfectly fit all 4 of our guests, had space to cook and to relax. The provided activities (kayaks, pattle boards, outdoor games etc) were in excellent condition and super convenient and easy to access. Over was a perfect stay!

My only regret is not staying longer! My family loved this airbnb. It’s the best airbnb I’ve ever stayed at! Clean, beautiful view, comfy couch, super comfortable beds, a sauna, a massive collection of games/books/toys and even records and a record player plus so many more amenities. I could go on and on about everything we loved about this place. I would go out of my way to stay here again!!

Our stay at Wanda’s house was wonderful. The house is beautiful, well kept and has all the amenities for a very comfortable stay. I can’t say enough about the beach, sunsets, and location. Sitting on the deck and looking at the sunsets over Port Hood Island was absolutely mesmerizing. Wanda was great and responded immediately to any messages. We will definitely be going back again.

What a picturesque location. Had a beautiful view of the ocean from our living room. There were plenty of rooms for our family to stretch out, and the room my son stayed in had an entire kitchen suite, bathroom, and big screen tv with couches! The house was sprawling inside. We also made use of the hot tub one evening which was quite relaxing. I highly recommend this rental.

Great location, so many places around to explore. Restaurants and makret are near by. Places looks same like in photos even better in real life! Thank you for amazing airbnb!

David was a great host! The apartment was impeccable, everything was included and even supplied us with homemade banana bread. Very comfortable and we booked it again on our return trip.

Janine’s place is so spacious and beautiful. We were visiting Sydney for my brothers graduation and my family was really comfortable and it felt like home! It was very clean with alot of amenities and Janine is super responsive

Staying at Clarke & Shelley’s was great! The place was very nice, tidy and clean. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. There was shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower. The rooms were spacious and the windows let in a lot of natural light. The place felt very private, as there is nobody else living in the house (the top floor is just for storage). Great to see the sun setting over the sea on a cloudless evening. Shelley was very friendly and made us feel very comfortable.

This was a great place to stay before we went to hike around the Cabot trail. Joeleen had great local recommendations that were really helpful for us to decide where to eat and what to do. Thank you for a great stay!

This is a lovely lower level (back split) apartment that overlooks Bras D'or lake. Super clean and organized with so many nice touches from the hosts! We had freshly baked muffins, coffee maker loaded and ready to start at the touch of a button, fresh butter set out, milk and cream in the fridge as well as burger condiments. Super quiet and peaceful place to stay! Stores, gas etc are about 25 minutes away, so don't expect to walk to a supermarket, but for us the solitude was wonderful. Very nice people operate this airbnb!

We came across the country to visit our daughter attending college. It was a perfect home away from home for us to relax in and for her to have some family time off campus when she was out of class.

Lili was friendly and very responsive. Her place was as described and the amenities exceeded our expectations. The location was great, in a quiet area and just a short walk to the beach. It was perfect stop during our loop around the trail and we would definitely stay there again.

Place was very modern and spacious. Kitchen was well equipped. Great view of the coast. Rick was very friendly and responsive. We really enjoyed our 3 day stay. I give this place top marks.

We were delighted to meet Catherine and her husband, and the view behind their home was outstanding. The apartment is like a mother-in-law, attached to their home. Very sweet. We found the bed a bit uncomfortable, but everything else was perfect.

We enjoyed our stay in Port Hood. Wish we had more time there to explore Cape Breton. Very easy to gaze out at the water and lose track of time.

Beautiful location and very peaceful especially in the evenings. Sitting on the balcony and listening to the wind was amazing. The place was very clean and the extra amenities provided were great after a long day of hiking. The snacks provided were so nice! Would definitely return.
