The cottage we stayed in was built in 1888! It was lovely. You could feel the history of the place oozing out of every corner of the cottage. The location is spectacularly beautiful. It was safe, quiet and with every ammenity needed for a comfortable self-catering stay. Petro was also very friendly, helpful and informative. We thoroughly enjoyed stay at Petro's place. We recommend it for a stopover stay or for longer self-catering stays.

Absolutely stunning place, even better than we expected and a highlight of our first week-long road trip with our two small kids. The house was charming, the views were incredible, the stars were gorgeous. My kids loved wandering through the veggie tunnel and tasting the herbs and lettuce. Gill offered an affordable, delicious dinner made with fresh ingredients from their veggie tunnel and eggs laid by their chickens, and went “off-menu” to prepare my kids ready-to-toast cheese sandwiches - this was a HUGE plus after a long day of travel. They included my kids in the morning chicken feed and did everything they could to make us feel at home.

We loved our stay in Calitzdorp at Gerrit's place, very clean spacious, loved having electric blankets as the evening was cold! And such a pretty garden too! Would highly recommend 👌

For any nature lover looking for a private retreat do not hesitate to book Kerstin’s place. The pictures do not do it justice. The cottage is beautifully and spaciously designed and surrounded by the most stunning garden on a property in the Klein Karoo. This is definitely a hidden gem off the beaten track and worth staying for a few days to truly enjoy the hospitality of Kerstin and Marc and above all Felix the resident co-host 🐈‍⬛. We would have loved to stay longer but nevertheless we truly enjoyed this special place. Thanks and we will be back.
