"De Gulle pracht" Holiday home, Friesland

Our cozy vacation cottage, originally was an old stable that we (Caroline and Jan) converted together, with lots of love and respect for the old details and materials, into this "Gulle Pracht". Through a private driveway with parking, you reach the terrace with the spacious garden, a lawn with surrounding tall trees, where you can enjoy. Through the two French doors, you step into the bright and cozy living room with the white old beams and a fully equipped open kitchen. There is wireless internet available, TV and DVD. Because of the ceiling in the living room that has been removed, beautiful light falls in from the skylights and you have a view of the roof structure with the old round hoods. The beds are located on top of the two lofts. The comfortable double bed is accessed by an open staircase. The other loft, where a third or fourth bed can possibly be made, is only accessible by flexible guests via a ladder. It is not suitable for small children because of the danger of falling, but older children find it exciting to sleep there. Please note, the two lofts share the same large open space. Under the old beams, you can sleep peacefully, where only the sound of rustling trees, whistling birds or your deliciously snoring bedmate will be heard. The room is heated by central heating, but also only the wood-fired stove can heat the cottage comfortably. You will be provided with enough wood from us to start a cozy fire. Through an old stable door in the living room, you come to the bathroom with beamed ceiling and underfloor heating. The bathroom has a good shower, double sink and toilet. With its inlaid mosaics and all kinds of funny and old details, this space is also a feast for the eyes. There are two bicycles available for nice trips in the wider area (Harlingen, Franeker Bolsward). We may want to drop you off in Harlingen for a crossing to Terschelling. You can leave the car in our yard for a while. We, ourselves, live in the farmhouse which is in the same yard. We are available for help, information and advice for fun trips in our beautiful Friesland. Your cottage and our farmhouse are separated by our garden and the big old barn (with pool table), so we both have our own space and privacy. Kimswerd, located on the eleven city route is a small, quiet and beautiful village where our Frisian hero "de Grutte Pier" was born and lived. He still watches over us, in petrified form, at the beginning of our little street, next to the centuries-old Church, which is very much worth visiting as well. You can do your shopping in Harlingen, the supermarket is a fifteen minute bike ride away. The old port of Harlingen is 10 km from our cottage. Kimswerd is located just across the Afsluitdijk. From there, follow the signs N31 Harlingen/Leeuwarden/Zurich and take the first exit at Kimswerd, 1st right at the traffic circle, 1st right again at the next traffic circle, straight ahead at the intersection, across the bridge and immediately take the first left (Jan Timmerstraat). At the beginning of this street, next to the church, stands the statue of the Grutte Pier. We live in the farmhouse behind the church, Jan Timmerstraat 6, first wide gravel path on the right. - For small children, sleeping on the loft without a fence is not advisable because of the danger of falling. It's just fun for big kids, the loft is accessible by a ladder. Please note, it is 1 large open space upstairs with no privacy.

Meadow cottage with veranda on the waterfront!

Romantic new vacation home with veranda on the water and spacious private garden, in the middle of nature and bird area between Alkmaar and Hoorn. Enjoy the tranquility, the view, spacious bathroom with shower and bathtub or go on an adventure with the canoe into the polder. The Weidehuisje feels like a remote private paradise, but is surprisingly centrally located in Noord-Holland. Whether you want to cycle, hike, fish, spot birds, discover villages or just do nothing at all, this is the place to catch your breath.

Beautiful place to relax in Workum

This lovely apartment, located on the first floor, has beautiful views over the countryside, is right on the water and offers plenty of privacy. Through the front door, you enter a spacious hall where you walk up the stairs and enter the apartment. Through the hallway, you reach the bedroom with a comfortable double box spring bed. Opposite the bedroom is the toilet with the spacious bathroom next to it. At the end of the hallway is the spacious cozy living room with kitchen and also two sleeping places.

Relax in this unique and fantastic split-level home: lots of light, space and cozy outdoor terraces. From the decking, you jump into the water, or you sail away with the paddle board or with the rowing boat! From the large kitchen, you can look out over the water. With a staircase down, you enter the living room where it is wonderful to spend time, and you are on the same floor as the water. One level lower are the bathroom and bedrooms, and you are "face to face" with the water.

Rural accommodation on the Frisian Elfstedenroute

Within walking distance of the center of Bolsward, on the Workumertrekvaart, the original Frisian Eleven Cities Route, is our rural farm. In this rural and water-rich environment, we offer you a spacious room, which is equipped with a large double bed, (2x0.90), TV/seating area and a completely new bathroom with Jacuzzi. Extra sleeping accommodation is possible. We have recently created this new space in our former cowshed, which is adjacent to our private home.

It HavenNêst

This beautiful building has been completely restored in 2024/2025. This centrally located accommodation is tastefully decorated and is situated in the heart of Workum overlooking the harbor and the large church. All the shops, restaurants and museums are within walking distance. One of the most beautiful town squares in Friesland, "De Merk," is just a stone's throw away. There is a lot of parking space around the cottage. Even trucks are no problem.
